A new path to power
Author's Note: This story takes place roughly 100 years after Star Wars: The Old Republic. Also be patient. The first few chapters will have little or no sex but there will be some once the story gets going.
Chapter 1: HatredSince the fall of the Emperor during the last great war the Council has fallen to petty power squabbles among themselves. Over the last century, the council has waned in number through conquest and consolidation and now number only three. Little did they know a new power was soon to rise and shake the empire to it's core...Dokzai was born on a small Sith planet beyond the Outer Rim. His father and mother were both Sith Lords of considerable power. His mother was a minor lord who controlled only a few planets. His father on the other hand, was poised to become a Darth on the Council. The boy proved to have a strong connection to the Force even at a young age, able to weakly manifest telekinesis before he could walk. This pleased his father, who began to train him in secret as soon as he was old enough to endure it... and endure he did. By the time he was seven, he was besting his tutors in swordsmanship and boasted power of apprentices twice his age. It was at this time Dokzai's father took a personal hand in his training."Come here, boy!" Dokzai did as he was told."Yes father?" He kneeled, as was exspected of him."I have a test for you." His father turned and looked out the window. "You will go into the city, alone. You will find the target I send to you and you will kill them. Understand?"Dokzai stands and nods."Yes father. Is there a reason this person is to be killed?" His father lashed out with the force, sending Dokzai flying. "NEVER QUESTION ME!" His father bellowed as Dokzai landed on the other side of the room.Dokzai stood up weakly, his head still reeling."I-I apologize, Sir." This calms his father."I have risked too much on a tool like you to have you question me. Do so again and you will not survive my anger. Do I make myself clear?"Dokzai clenched his fist, but bowed and left the room.A few minutes later, Dokzai was in the city proper. His com link chimed:"This is your target. Make a statement." The comm went quiet, leaving only a holo-picture of his target, a young woman about his age.Dokzai made his way to the cantina, a spot where he knew he could find info on the target. He sat at the bar and flagged down the bartender"Yeah, and what do you want, eh?" the tender asked with a gruff tone. Dokzai held out the holo."Do you know her?" he asked in a low tone"Maybe I do, maybe I don’t. What's it worth to ya?" the bartender responded with a chuckle."Not much to me, but if you know something..." Dokzai focused the Force around the man's neck, slowly tightening a noose-like grip. "...then I suggest you tell me. Unless it's worth more than your life, that is."The bartender struggled against the invisible force choking him."Okay, okay, just let me go!" He pleaded.Dokzai released his hold on the man."Now talk or I'll snap your neck." He threatened. The slimy man rubbed his neck as he caught his breath."Th-the girl hangs out near the hangars that's all I know, I swear!"Dokzai nodded."If you're lying, I will be back!" And with that, he walked out.He quickly found the hangars. Dokzai waiting in the alley for what felt like hours in the arid summer heat. The stench of the nearby slums was an affront to his sense of smell, one that made the time pass at a crawl.Suddenly, there she was.How did she get so close to the hangar without me seeing her?, Dokzai wondered briefly before focusing his thoughts on the task at hand.He tailed her into the hangar."Hello, Dralla. You got my money?" Asked a large human male."Yeah, yeah, I got your money, Trax." She tossed a credit chit to him."Good. Next time, I won't be so patient. And then I'll have to take other forms of payment, you get me?" The sleazeball said while mentally undressing her lithe body."Ugh, in your dreams, Trax." She said, like he was something she'd found on the underside of her shoe.Just as she turned to leave, Dokzai pounced."My father wants you dead... and I'm here to see it happen." Dokzai held out his hand, blasting arcs of lighting across the hangar. They caught the young woman in the chest. She screamed out in agony.Trax pulled his blaster, taking a pot shot at Dokzai. The bastard was lucky, he actually managed to graze his arm."You shouldn’t have done that, scum." Without releasing Dralla, he reached out with the Force and crushed Trax's windpipe in one swift motion. The petty criminal fell to the floor, dead.Dralla passed out from the pain and Dokzai let up on the lightning."Father said to make a statement..." He mused, as he began dragging her out into the street. He lashed the incapacitated young woman to a light post."Gather! Gather and see what comes of those that draw the ire of their masters!" Dokzai proclaimed. Once more the young man lashed out with Force lightning, causing Dralla to scream anew. Her once smooth and attractive flesh started to char and blacken."See her pain! See it and remember it well!" Dokzai cried. He sent more bolts of his dark lightning coursing through her body again. The smell of burnt flesh filled the air."...And finally: Remember her punishment !" He tore a post from the ground with the Force and Sent it effortlessly through her chest. Leaving the upstart to die, Dokzai walked back home to report the news to his father, though he would already knows the details by now.As he entered his father's office, he heard him speaking to someone."Yes, the time is coming to strike. Be ready." Dokzai heard his father say."Yes, Master, it will be done. The council will believe it to be the work of Jedi agents." This was the voice of a woman, unfamiliar to his ears...Nearing the door, Dokzai knocked."Enter." His father called."The task is done, father." Dokzai said."I know. You have done well. And you are to be commended on your public display." The older man said as he walked over to a storage closet. "Here, this belonged to my father when he was an apprentice. He passed to me when I became one."He pulled out a Sith war blade and handed it to Dokzai."I'm honored, father." The young man said, eagerly accepting the blade. He saw that it was made to fold in two for convenience when worn on one's hip"Now, go. The rest of the day is yours to do as you wish. I'd suggest you try out your new blade " Dokzai's father told him. With that he returned to his desk and Dokzai left the room.As he walked away he held the blade up."The day is quickly coming that you will die at my hands, old man." he said quietly.Special thanks to AlexandraS90 for the new format and proofreading
