That which was Lost
I wanted lost Odyssey Fanfics n there were only 4. So I thought I’d make it five. Its got everything though I do love my YAOI and that will probably be the main thing. ^__^
So this is basically just what happened in the beginning but u can hear Kaim’s thoughts n stff. I just had to start n I wanted to get some practice writing battle scenes. So yeah. . .
Prologue
This was getting old. A sinewy man stood on the high-grounds of the battle field watching the soldiers from Kent march forward. As always he was on the front line, as always he was in command. Stretching out the muscles in his long neck he watched the moonlight dance off the enemies black armor.
There had been many battles over the past few days and many men had lost their lives. There would be many fathers who would not return to their children, many sons who would not return to their mothers. It was the rules of war; rules Kaim knew all too well.
Adjusting his stance and preparing to issue the attack command, Kaim felt a sudden chill. How many years had he spent living this life? How long had he been working as a mercenary for the country who paid him the grandest sum, slaughtering those whose lives were far more fragile than his own. He was, after all, the immortal Kaim. Discarding this sudden pessimism he turned his narrow brown eyes to the battle field and issued the command.
In a thunderous roar the men at his back darted forward. Their cries of war almost made Kaim smile. He had heard that sound so often, it was almost like hearing an overplayed song. Watching momentarily as the blood stained gold armor, Kaim held back on his own assault. He was watching the enemy move, gauging their speed and power as they slaughtered his men: the fathers and sons of Urah. These men were clearly soldiers but Kaim had centuries of wars behind him. Predicting and countering the strategies of these men would be child’s play.
Pulling his silver blade from the sheath at his side, Kaim darted forward. As his silver breastplate clashed against all of those around him, he tore through the sea of black like a shooting star. One after the other the Kent soldiers fell at his hand. Like tiny black ants they crumbled beneath his superior strength and speed.
Meanwhile, at his back, the healers began to do their job. As if from death the soldiers from Urah resurrected and rushed once more into the war to defend their country. Kaim smiled a sad and empty smirk as he cut down three more from Kent. So easy, too easy he thought. In a desperate attempt to destroy him, the enemy targeted the silver bullet that was Kaim with one of their deadliest cannons.
With ease he sliced through both Gatling guns before thrusting his blade into the eye of the mechanical beast. He uttered a laugh feeling the euphoria he got from battle rush over him, a feeling he both loathed and craved all in one huge wave.
Suddenly, and without warning, a rumble shook the battlefield. Confused, soldiers on both sides came to a halt. Still in mid air Kaim decapitated a man before taking notice of the sudden standstill. What could be happening?
As lava began to pour from the sky, he pulled his sword from the body of the man he had just killed. Looked like he would be going home early this time.
