Acting Lessons

It was lunchtime at the mess hall, and all of Squad 7 were there, celebrating the retaking of Vasel Bridge. Welkin raised his glass in celebration.

"Squad 7, a toast! We beat the Imperials back and retook the bridge!" A resounding cheer shook the area as many of them raised their glasses to match Welkin. The entire squad's morale had improved considerably after such a hard mission.

"...So we moved behind the Edelweiss, right?" Edy Nelson recounted her part in the battle. "There were, oh, two snipers in the ruined buildings above. Homer here..." Edy grabbed the young engineer by the neck and pulled him close. "He spotted one and took one out for me!"

"Aw, it was nothin'." Homer looked flustered at the sudden grab by Edy, but she seemingly paid no mind as her story continued.

"Anyways, we moved behind the tank and Homer took out one of the snipers. The other one was about to shoot when Oscar here took out the other one." Edy grabbed the sniper with her other arm, currently holding both of them down.

"Ey, you mind?" Rosie asked as she looked over. "I appreciate our teammates as much as the next person but..."

Capt. Varrot pulled her back down into her seat. "Ms. Nelson, we are all very glad you like to express your self artistically, but please."

Edy huffily crossed both her arms, but she gave in, regardless. "Yes, ma'am."

Lunchtime passed without further incident as most of Squad 7 retreated various areas, some to train, some to relax. Edy Nelson decided to find a room where she could practice acting by herself.

She cleared her throat, but someone knocked on the door. Edy opened the door and spotted a rather timid looking Homer standing there. "Oh, hey Homer, what 'cha doin?"

"Hi, Edy," the engineer said quite shyly. "Are you practicing your acting?"
