Disclaimer:
I do not own Kingdom Hearts, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
A Sliver Of Light
Wow… after almost three years I’m back at writing fics. (though it has felt more like
three decades.) my main reason for writing this fic is because of the lack of het KH fics out there. I also am writing this to see if I still got what it takes to write a decent fan fic. If so I’ll probably be writing a lot more of these. (just got a job that has a lot of free time n.n)
now this chapter really isn’t a chapter, but more of a prologue. So basically I want to see if there’s any interest in this fic before I decide to devote myself completely to it.
Now with that said, here is the prologue.

Prologue: A Sliver of Hope.
It was a dark stormy night. The moon cast down a dim luminescent glow which could be hardly recognized among the numerous lights of the city. The city streets, themselves practically empty of all life, except for the few people who where on their way to shelter. However, one man seemed to not notice this as he walked along the streets in the pouring rain, trapped in a daze. As he continued to walk along, he had finally noticed the three bullet holes in his stomach, as he stared at them with a grim smile on his face as the blood flow from the wounds began to lessen, a sign he was on death’s door. He then reached the end of the block, as he then stumbled into a dark alleyway looking for a place to die.
‘An alley….. I guess it fits a filthy rat like me…….to die here.’ Thought the man as he then slumped down against the backdoor to some building, as he then looked up at the moon for what would be his last time.
Life at the office and for that matter life in general, had been frustrating for Kairi. Her father who owned the company never really showed any recognition for her work. All he saw her as was a womb which would produce his heir, since he never had any sons. And outside of work was just the same. Her fiancé Riku, whose father was a long time business partner with Kairi’s own father, was never really that interested in Kairi as a person, but more as an object which would help him gain control of her father’s company. To put it simply, Riku is a prick, but Kairi’s father had already seen Riku as the son he never had, and unfortunately for Kairi, she had no real say in the matter.
Kairi had been forced to stay late at the office, because of some last minute client deals, and to top it off it had started to rain heavily outside.
‘It’s a good thing my apartment is only a few blocks away from here, and at least I remembered to bring an umbrella.’ Thought Kairi as she then began to walk towards her apartment building. When she arrived at her building and opened the door she bumped into one of her neighbors.
“Good evening Ms. Murasaki, how are you feeling?” asked Kairi
“Oh you know how it is at my age, creaking joints, muscle pains, and my dang hip started acting up again.” Replied the elderly lady, as Kairi then noticed the two bags of garbage that the lady was carrying.
“Oh, here let me help you with that.” Said Kairi as she then took the garbage bags away from the elderly lady, who has been like a grandma to her.
“Thank you Kairi. You always have been a kind one.” Replied Ms. Murasaki
As Kairi walked to the back of her apartment building carrying the two bags of garbage, she happened to hear a sound from a cross the dark alley which sounded like a groan. Curious as to what the sound was, Kairi then opened the gate of the fence from her apartment building. As she glanced at the ground she noticed that in the puddles of rain she could barely detect hints of red in them.
‘Funny….. Sort of reminds me of blood.’ Thought Kairi as she continued to approach towards where the sound came from. As she then reached her destination she gasped in horror at what she saw before her.
“Oh dear god!” exclaimed Kairi.
There was a man with three bullet holes in his stomach lying on the ground.

Well that was the prologue. If you want to see more then review. Plus it’ll make me happy. Though I still feel kind of rusty at writing fics I hope I can get back into the swing of things. Also I am in need of a beta. If you’re interested contact me at my email which is
