Keep Your Enemys Closer

Hello everyone...This here is my first story ever. I've been thinking on this forever and I know the school setting is cliche...but meh!

I don't own Kingdom Hearts, Square does. >_>

Summery:

Sora's kind of an unknown kid in the 11th grade while Riku is a popular jock. What happens when these to meet!? Really not what you'd think...read please?

Sora's POV:

"Sora," a masculine voice called from the darkness. "Wake your ass up."

"Just...five more minutes," I mumbled putting the pillow of my face to try and drown the sound.

A soft whimpering sound escaped my lips when the warmth from my bed covers left me.

"Sora...!" the voice said again, obviously a lot more annoyed.

"Ok, ok," I whined sitting up and looking at my dad through foggy eyes, "I'm up."

"Good," he said in his gruff yet comforting voice, "school starts in thirty minutes."

I felt my eyes shoot open and glared at my father. "Why didn't you wake me sooner!" I whined jumping out of bed and walking into the bathroom where the cold tiled floor awakened me slightly.

"I didn't want to ruin your beauty sleep." I heard him chuckle. And that chuckle turned into a full fledged laugh when I opened up the bathroom door with a pout on my face. Rolling my eyes slightly I closed there door again and began to brush my teeth. Finally satisfied after getting that morning taste out of my mouth did I jump into the shower for 10 minutes and run downstairs with a pair of blue jeans and a blue hoodyshirt.

"Sorry dad, don't have time for breakfast." I said running past my father who was reading the newspaper.

"Don't forget your car keys." he said not even looking up from his paper, and sure enough I had left them on the kitchen table.

Running outside and jumping into my red 1995 Toyota I drove to school.

Kids littered the school grounds as I pulled into a parking space beside the school. 'I made it just in time.' I thought as the bell for home room rang. 'Oh good golly jee!' I thought sarcastically when I took my seat in my home room class, 'I get the meanest home room teacher around'. And it was quite true. Ms. Danley had earned herself the title of 'The Bitch'. And boy did she look it. She wore black high heels, a short red skirt, white button up shirt, black rimmed glasses, and her hair was pulled back into a ponytail. I wouldn't have been surprised if she pulled out a whip and began to punish the first person she saw for no reason.

As soon as the tardy bell rang she opened her mouth to speak when the door burst open. And to my great displeasure it was one of the meanest, toughest, and most popular jocks around, Riku.

"Sorry I'm late." Riku said walking past The Bitch without so much as a glance at her.

"Yes," she breathed knowing Riku was going to be hard to intimidate ,"just don't make a habit of it."

"Anyway, as I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted," she glanced at Riku who ignored her completely, "this is the first day of school and I think it would be wise for you to learn the rules of this classroom. As many of you may have already noticed I took the liberty of writing them on the bored for you. And to make sure it all sticks, I expect every single one of you," she paused for dramatic effect, " ten times."

"Bitch." a few of the bolder kids whispered behind her back.

Just as I was about to begin working Riku leaned across his seat and asked if he could borrow some paper. Typical jocks, never having there own supplies. Being the nice guy I am despite someone’s reputation I reached beside my desk to get some paper out of my bookbag. When I turned around apparently he thought it would be funny if he put his fist where my face was going to make me slam into when I tried to look back. My face collided with his fist and the paper I was holding flew into the air. "SHIT!" I hissed, holding my reddened face while glaring daggers at Riku who had found the whole thing funny, and was trying his best to look innocent and not laugh.

"Sora!" Ms. Danley gasped, her brows furrowed in anger at my outburst. "Such language will not be tolerated in this classroom. My room, after-school, detention." Riku almost exploded from the laughter he was holding in. "Oh, I haven't forgotten about you Mr. Riku. You'll be staying after school with Mr. Potty Mouth here."

She had finally struck a nerve on Riku. "You can't do that!" he said defiantly, standing up from his desk. "I have football tryouts today. I gotta play if I want to get a scholarship!"

The Bitch's mouth formed into an 'o' than into a smirk. "Don't do the crime if you can't do the time." she said mockingly.

If looks could kill the whole school would have gone up in a mushroom cloud from the looks Riku were throwing around.

After the bell rang for home room to be over I made sure to avoid Riku. He looked pissed and I didn't want to be in his way.

As I was walking through the hall I felt something ram into me and I collided hard with a locker. Wincing slightly I opened one eye and saw my greatest fear, at the moment at least, Riku. His blue eyes seemed to have hardened and become more distant.

"Ah, Riku..." I tried to say in a calm voice but it seemed to be failing me. It was weak and cracked.

I closed my eyes and whimpered as I saw him raise his fist, tears beginning to form in the corner of my eyes. So this was how it was gonna go, I do absolutely nothing and I got wooped for it. Woopty-fucking-doo!

But the blows I were sure were going to come raining down on my face never came. Thinking that maybe he had left I peeked an eye open, and saw Riku still standing there with his fist raised.

"Riku...?" I whispered not sure if I should run away or not. I let out a shriek as I saw his fist rain down and punch...the locker? I glanced over at where his fist was beside my face and almost fainted. His fist had dented the metal.

"Ahhrg!" he screamed, more punches raining down but not hitting me. I guess when he had finally taken out his anger he rushed away, still looking hella pissed.

Once he was out of sight I let myself slide down the locker and let out a sigh I hadn't realized I'd been holding. "What was all that about...?" I whispered exhaustedly, wiping the sweat that had formed on my fore-head.

Riku's POV:

Once the bell rang and Sora had left the room I got up and followed him, making sure he didn't see me. Once he was in a hallway by himself I attacked. I pushed him into a locker and pinned him there with every intention of beating him to a pulp.

"Ah, Riku..." he whimpered in his weak voice.

I raised my fist, ready to knock his lights out, but he looks so damn innocent! All curled up and...crying? God, I wanted to hug him...to kiss him...Wait, what am I saying!?

"Ahhrg!" I screamed raining punches down on the locker, making sure not to hit Sora. Once I was out of breath and my hands throbbing I hurried away and slumped down on the next corner. Holding a hand over my heart I looked up to the ceiling.

"I couldn't be falling for Sora...could I?"
