Don’t Lose Hope
By: AmeretheAngel
Pairing: Zelos/Kratos

Me: Hey, it’s me, AmeretheAngel! Well…I don’t own TOS, and if I did…well, quite a few of the charries would be in a bit of trouble. *laughs* Yeah. Um…I do own this idea, though, so don’t take it!

CHAPTER 1: One Snowy Night

Zelos yawned, stretching as he watched the snowflakes settled outside the window. It was late, but he couldn’t sleep. He was kept up by tormenting thoughts…about another man. If it was a woman, it wouldn’t be so bad, but a man? Zelos was confused.

He flinched as another image of the auburn-haired seraphim flashed through his head. Kratos, in this image, was standing in a cocky Lloyd-like pose that for some reason made Zelos want to drool. An exasperated sigh escaped Zelos’s lips. There was no way he could be gay. No way.

If that was so, then why did those images flash through his head? Maybe… “No!” Zelos said forcefully, loudly attempting to banish the though from his mind but failing miserably.

“Zelos? What was that?” a groggy Lloyd asked.

“Nothing,” Zelos replied hastily, still staring out the window. Finally, a few hours later, Tethe’alla’s Chosen slipped off to sleep, still thinking about Kratos.

Several hours before dawn, Zelos was shook awake. “Urg…hm…go ‘way…” he mumbled, groggily swatting at the hand that was pulling him out of slumber.

“Zelos. Wake up,” Kratos said, impatient as he tried yet again to wake the chosen up.

“Kratos?” Zelos said, waking up almost immediately. Kratos reeled backwards, amazed at how quickly the Chosen could recover if he wished. “What do you want?”

“I need to talk to you,” Kratos replied evenly, gesturing towards the snow-covered darkness outside.

“Pops, it’s not even dawn! Why this early?” he grumbled.

“Because I can’t talk to you otherwise, Zelos,” Kratos replied patiently.

“Why not?” Zelos asked, enjoying bantering with the older man. He slipped a piece of red hair behind his ear and stared at the seraphim, his heart beating fast. Zelos still didn’t know exactly what was wrong with him, as his heart beat fast at the sight of the handsome man, but he was willing to try and figure it out.

“Because Lloyd might see us. I can’t allow that,” Kratos replied stiffly. “Come on,” Kratos said, turning around and expecting Zelos to follow him outside into the snow. After a brief period of consideration, Zelos, unhesitating, followed after Kratos.

Why won’t he allow Lloyd to see us? What…what is he planning? Zelos wondered, curious. He was curious about what Kratos was doing, and what couldn’t been seen by his son. Walking softly after the seraphim, he sat down next to him. “Hi,” he said lamely, unsure of exactly what to say.

Kratos stared blankly at him, trying to hide a smile at the Chosen’s obvious discomfort. “We need to talk,” he said seriously, his eyes staring into the periwinkle blues of the Chosen.

“About what? The sky?” Zelos attempted to joke, but Kratos’s serious eyes told him that it was not the time. “Seriously.”

Kratos shivered slightly as an image of an unclothed Chosen flashed through his head, making him shiver in delight and something else. “I…” Unsure of what to say, Kratos turned to stare Zelos in the eyes. Bad move.

Zelos tilted his head, eying Kratos warily. Suddenly, a naked picture of the angel flashed through his head, and he shivered as well. Raising an eyebrow, Kratos had a vague picture of why Zelos had shivered.

Neither of them said anything for a few moments, and then they started leaning in. Later, Kratos would claim that Zelos had started the kiss, while Zelos would claim that Kratos had. But now, neither of them cared as their lips came close and touched.

Kratos reached a hand up behind Zelos’s head and pulled Tethe’alla’s chosen closer to him, crushing Zelos’s lips to his own. The Angel was starting to take control, until Zelos interrupted. Zelos pulled back, and Kratos stared at him.

“What was that?” Zelos asked him, his voice low and seductive. Zelos had enjoyed it, a lot more then he had ever enjoyed anything with a woman!

“Zelos…what I was trying to tell you is that I think I love you. I can’t get you out of my head,” Kratos said, slightly ashamed as he rocked back and forth.

“Oh. That’s good; I love you too,” Zelos said, straddling Kratos and kissing him briefly. Suddenly, the door snapped open and Zelos hopped off Kratos.

“Zelos? Dad?” a groggy Lloyd peered out of the doorway. “What are you guys doing?” he asked.

“Absolutely nothing, Lloyd. Go back to sleep,” Kratos said in a commanding voice. With a sleepy nod, Lloyd complied; he was really too tired to care. A sigh escaped his lips; now Zelos and he would have to meet at a different date.

“Why’d he have to come?” Zelos cursed Lloyd quietly to himself, but loud enough for Kratos to hear.

“Zelos, Chosen, we can continue our…conversation later, okay?” Kratos told the crestfallen Chosen, kissing him gently on the lips before standing up and disappearing in the darkness.

In the days that followed, Zelos saw little of Kratos but the others in the party noticed a change in the Chosen’s attitude. He was much happier, and even the girls noticed that he didn’t hit on him quite as much. Zelos beamed at Raine, Colette, Sheena, and Presea as they approached the inn where they were to spend the night. One night before, Zelos had saw Kratos and had gotten to talk to him for a little while. The two of them were really starting to get to know each other, which was a good thing.

Hopefully, tonight, the seraphim and the Chosen would get to talk to Kratos yet again and maybe steal another lovely kiss! Giggling in excitement, he evoked worried glances his way.

“Is he on drugs?” Sheena asked, peering quietly at the redheaded Chosen.

“He hasn’t tried to hit on me for days,” Raine said, worried as well.

“Did he find a girlfriend?” Colette asked, curious.

“I doubt it,” Presea said.

“I agree. Who knows with him?” Sheena said, still eying the giggling chosen and wondering if he was on some sort of drug that they didn’t know about. She walked over to him. “Zelos, are you okay? You’ve been acting kind of weird, and we were worried about you!” Sheena said, concerned. Zelos giggled and looked at her.

“It’s nothing, okay, Sheena, my voluptuous hunny!” Zelos said, winking at her and then prancing off to his own world, in which he giggled quietly to himself and sighed thoughtfully as he drifted through his dream world with Kratos and he.

Sheena, wide-eyed, went back to join the girls. “He’s an alien,” she said, shaking her head. “He didn’t even try and hit on me. That’s never happened before…” Sheena said in amazement.

“I have to feel sorry for you,” Colette interjected, shaking her blonde hair. “But then again, I have to worry about Lloyd,” she sighed.

“I do feel sorry for you,” Raine said apologetically, patting Colette on the shoulder in sympathy.

“What is going on with him?” the girls chorused quietly, staring at the Chosen from Tethe’alla who was off in his dream world.

What is wrong with Zelos? When will he see Kratos, and will he be together with him alone at last? You never know. This chapter had a little yaoi fluff, but more will come soon, kay? ^.^

Please read and review. It was a fun thing to write, and more of it will come if there is reviews! If you have any ideas for a FF and you want to have someone write them, just e-mail me or post a review. Simple as that! ^_^
