Kingdom Hearts

Playing by the Rules

Note: Due to some confusion and in my opinion complete idiocy, I would like to make it clear that the OC in this fic is NOT ME. She's a fictional character; if you don't like the idea of an orginal character not based in reality at all; then I'd suggest you leave now.

Pairings: Ansem/OC

Disclaimer: The cast of Kingdom Hearts belongs to Square-Enix/Disney, not me. I only exhibit them for non-profit entertainment.

Prologue

She ran as fast as she could, desperate to save the boy. Why did she want to save someone she had never met? But the words of the sage still echoed in her mind. “Save the child from the Darkness, and your destiny shall be revealed.” Why she had come here, she didn’t know. It felt strange being here, this was not her world, this was not what she should have been doing. She was eighteen, she shouldn’t have to worry about such things. But… her destiny was not something she could avoid.

So she ran. This world, this place was strange. Hollow Bastion, was it called? Not that it mattered. Ahead was the silver haired boy, and there was…

Darkness.

It was formless, but at the same time, she knew where it was. Right in front of the boy, offering some sort of connection, some deal. She had to stop it from

“Stop!” she shouted to no one in particular. The boy stared in horror. The Darkness stared. “Stop!”

“Who are you?” the Darkness said, not in agitation, but pure curiosity.

“Analiese.”

The boy ran. She got ready to sprint again, in case the Darkness charged him, but it didn’t. The boy started shouting a name repeatedly, but that was all. The Darkness studied her, she could feel it watching her. It was strange, but not disgusting to feel. It felt like innocent flirting, but she shook that thought off. It was Darkness, not a boy her age. “You are strange,” it said, and she could feel it moving towards her. It had become a cloaked figure, still enveloped in Darkness. “You made the key disappear. You will have to do instead.”

Analiese felt a sensation in her chest, like burning. “My heart…” she whispered, gripping at her breast. “No… don’t… I will not become a Heartless!”
“Don’t worry… I wouldn’t let that happen to someone so interesting,” the Darkness said, the voice now deep and masculine. Lips touched her own, and she felt herself freeze with fear. “Not to my replacement.”

“Save the child from the Darkness, and your destiny shall be revealed.”

“Don’t, this is a mistake…” The lips touched again, as softly as before.

“Your heart and mine,” said the Darkness.

Analiese tried to push him away, shoving his face from hers. He didn’t hurt her, only stared intently with amber eyes. “Why fight? Why? You gave me no fight before.” Those eyes, like the Heartless… she shuddered. “I will not harm you,” the man promised.

“Your name,” Analiese said softly.

“Ansem,” came the reply, and then she fainted.

-

She woke up on a bed, quite alone. Curtains were drawn up around her. It was peaceful, yet sorrowful here. She could feel herself somewhere else, her real body, but for some reason, she didn’t want to leave this bed. It smelled like him, and that made her unusually calm.

She had to get up, however, and when she did, she stared around the room. “Where am I?” she whispered.

“You are in the darkness of our hearts,” said a voice from behind her.

Analiese twisted around, and fell back in the bed with a shriek. Ansem was sitting at a desk near her, busy working on something that she could not see. “S-stay away from me!” she cried at him. There were no weapons in this world of mind. She was in danger.

Ansem let out a sigh. “As you wish. You’re too strong, in any case. I don’t have the time and energy to waste on you.” He looked at her intensely, causing a thick line of blush to grow across her face. “Why accept me, and act so surprised a moment later?” he asked.

“It was fate,” she responded. Ansem raised his eyebrows, but didn’t say anything. “The sage told me to save the boy. That it would reveal my destiny…”

“I see,” said Ansem slowly, looking surprised. “So you have no idea who I am… your innocence is surprising considering… the darkness in your heart.” He stood up, and kissed her on the lips, gripping her shoulders, pushing her gently onto the bed.

“Holy fuck! Stop that!” Analiese shrieked, pushing him off of her chest. “Don’t touch me!” she snarled, jumping off the side of the bed, ready to fight him.

“You’re strange,” was the reply. “Why fight me?”

“If I am going to have a shred of dignity in my veins, I swear I will continue to fight you. You have your host, you parasite! Leave me be!”

Ansem’s expression darkened. “Fine,” he growled. “I’ll be back later.” He slammed the door to the room shut, and locking her in it alone.

Analiese gripped her head hard enough for blood to flow, and sobbed into her hands. “What have I done?” she whispered.
