The Plan
He kept his back against the Motorcycle, looking out at the torpid mass of the people moving about. He fingered the sword under his long black trench jacket. He sighed and looked through the tops of his mirrored sunglasses as the people made their stately march of death through what had used to be a market. All that remained were the burned out buildings that had replaced previous burned out buildings. He flipped his long blonde hair with his left hand and continued to caress the sword with his right. He remembered who he was now. He was Link, hero of time. Only now, because he had failed to thwart Gannon once, he was forced to see his beloved Hyrule become this twisted corrupt mass of cancer. He sighed as he watched a vendor sell a young women, she couldn’t have been over sixteen years of age, a vial of crushed rupees. Link remembered what had happened the day that people found out that rupees, aside from being traded for currency, could be taken, when crushed, as a drug. It was snuffed, smoked, melted then injected, or ingested, by any and all who could afford it. What it did was no real mystery, it gave you a hyper -high, it made your reflexes ten times better than what they ever could be, they prolonged your life, but at a price, the price was your soul. Link felt the ridge of rupees that now coated his bones and muscles vibrate at he thought about it. The rupees were apart of him now, but only because he had done something that he would never force on another. He had found some Dekus that had survived the great culling of Gannon, and had asked for some of their sap. He had mixed the rupees with the sap, in the hopes of minimizing the effects of the rupees. What it had done was turn the rupees into a semi-symbiotic life form that would keep him alive and stronger than any of his previous rebirths as long as he kept them feed on rupees and Deku sap. Which he got from vendors and the Dekus themselves. He grew tired of waiting and sent a mental summon to his personal fairy, Navi. He saw her shoot from over the heads of the crowds. She landed and returned to her normal size. Link handed hesmalsmall rag.
“Your client missed badly if he was aiming for your mouth.” Was all he said. Navi quickly wiped off her client’s cum from her breasts and handed a decent amount of rupees to Link.
“I’m sorry Master; Navi will do better next time.” She said in a sweet voice, but her head was angled downward her eyes locked on the sidewalk. Link lifted up her chin with his hand and patted her cheek.
“Its okay Navi, I made a rash call and you came as quickly as you could. That’s a good girl. Now get on the bike, we’re going home.” With that he straddled the bike and waited for Navi to hug him tightly from be. H. He remembered when she had come from hiding with the other fairies. She had been scared and frightened by the new world that by the time he had found her, her mind had been horribly damaged. He had done his best to return her to her natural state, but as much as he tried he had failed in every way. They rode for about a mile outside of the market to the slums. He parked the bike in his garage, his being the only house that had one, and locked it into place. He stroked the horse engraved bike with a touch of sadness, “I remember when you were a horse Epona, now you’re just a bike, a stunning bike, but a bike none the less.” With that he went into his home, checking for rats, or maybe a Moblin. He wouldn’t have been surprised to find one, monsters had been moving into the slums since the corporation had started moving guards out to handle the riots in the mining sector. He plopped down on his sofa and sighed. “Now to figure out a way to get her out before Gannon gets to her.” She, of course, was Zelda, bearer of the Triforce of Wisdom and his ally in every single iteration of his life. Of course, he remembered his defeat, of seeing Zelda’s head mounted on a pike being held up for him to see before the procession of Gannon and his court when his horde had descended on Hyrule those thousands of years ago. That history was lost in the sea of time. Like many others before it, it had been forgotthen hen Gannon destroyed what had been a peaceful and well learned civilization and began its stately march to this rat infested hellhole. Where Kokiri forest had once stood there now lay factories, where mighty temples had been there were slums. The Grudo were forced labor in the desert to dig for sand buried rupee deposits. And the Gorons were used in the l rup rupee mines. The Zora hunted and mined underwater deposits. Dekus were left to fend for themselves. The Fairies were sold as sex slaves, and the Hlyians, once a proud people, now shuffled along as they worked themselves to death in factories, just to make money so they could survive, and buy drug grade rupees. Link had seen three resistance movements stomped into oblivion by Gannon’s death troops, and had seen riots quelled with the death of all of those who participated. Twas was a harsh world now, a hellish world, were the strong survived and the weak died witho sec second thought. His thoughts were interrupted by the feeling of Navi’s hands on his shoulders, gently massaging his tired muscles. “Thanks Navi…” he mumbled.
“Not a problem, Master looked tired and stressed, Navi fix!” She said in her cheery sunshine voice. Link suddenly felt sad and decided to asks some questions.
“Navi, what will you do if I die?” He asked his voice wavering.
“Master will not die forever; Navi will wait for master to be born again.” Navi said her with that innocence of a child that Link had come to love.
“But what if I don’t come back?” He asked on the verge of tears, he didn’t want to do this to her, but he had to know.
“Then Navi will commit the ultimate sacrifice and revive Master.” She said her voice growing a bit darker.
“Navi, what do you mean, ultimate sacrifice? I thought fairies returned after reviving people?” Link queried his voice worried.
“If there were Fairy wells left we would, but they are all gone, destroyed by Gannon.” Navi slumped and hugged Link tightly from behind. “Do you love Navi, Master?” She asked quickly.
“Wha? Navi, don’t change the subject, but yes I do love you.” Link responded slightly shocked at the sudden question.
“How do you love Navi?” She asked sweetly.
“I love you like a close friend, like a family member, why?” Link asked confused, she had never acted like this before.
“Navi thought so…” She said her voice reaching a small note of sadness. Link yawned and stretched, threw his coat off and lay down on the sofa, using his coat as a blanket.
“I’m going to sleep now Navi, do you want to join me?” he asked pointing to the other sofa that could easily be pulled over to make a pseudo bed out of the pair.
“Maybe later master, Navi needs to finish some things first.” She her her voice slightly sobbish. Link sighed and closed his eyes, and started to crlentlently. He swore he would never cry again, but for what he had done to Navi, he was willing to make an exception. So he lay there, and cried himself to sleep, and he was plagued with dreams of torment.
Navi waited till she finally heard Link’s breathing even out. He had stopped crying, which made her feel a little better. She floated over to way he lay and knelt down, looking at his face. It was such a beautiful face. She had fallen in love with that face many, many years ago. She ran her fingers down it gently, putting a stray hair back into place. He twitched a little, but she knew he would not wake till morning. He was exhausted. She sighed and grabbed a knife from the kitchen ande ade a small incision in her arm. The blue blood flowed slowly, and she knew that the wound would seal when she wished it. She made a small incision in links arm, and knew he wouldn’t feel it because of her blood on the knife. Her blood was a cure-all and she knew it, she let her blood mingle with his for a time, and then sealed both wounds as if nothing had happened. She kissed his eyes gently, then his mouth and then she cleaned the knife and put it back in its place. She sat down by him again.
“This is my gift to you Link, for keeping me safe. I love you more than I can really say, and I have ever since I first saw you. I know you don’t feel for me that way, and that you truly love Zelda. That is why I gave you my gift; I will not see you die at the hands of Gannon, not this time. Because I love you, because I want to have you and I can’t. I will be with you always, even in death. I have hid my true personality behind a mask so you would care for me. And it will be so again when you wake, but until then, I am Navi, the real Navi. And I am yours.” With that she pulled the other sofa over very quietly and lay next to him, content to hear his breathing. She was happy to be near him, and knew that one day she would have to let him go to Zelda. But until then, she was happy, was was with him, and that was all she needed.
“Your client missed badly if he was aiming for your mouth.” Was all he said. Navi quickly wiped off her client’s cum from her breasts and handed a decent amount of rupees to Link.
