A new path to power

Chapter 9: Huntress " Sir they have started to drop the targets " a mandolorian hunter says as he enters the command tent Orona stands up from her desk " good take two men and start the hunt for the human target. And Kiran...don't take any chances this time" she says to her lieutenant with a smile. Kiran salutes then turns and leaves the tent. Orona grabs her helmet and blaster and follows. " Bilal take your team and take the cathar should be interesting to see who is the better hunter. Tamala you take the devironian kick him in the balls for me before you kill him. the rest of you are with me we'll be takeing the other two " she snaps orders out quickly and her people salute and move out in short order " this should be a fun hunt " she mutters to herself as she dawns her helmet and motions her team into the jungle. - meanwhile Dozkai moves deeper into the jungle blaster at the ready when he hears blaster fire in the distance followed by the roar of a large beast. He heads in the direction of the sounds. " Stay back damn it " a young man shouts at a large gundark as he shoots wildly at it only to anger it even more. Dozkai croutches in the bushes as the gundark grabs the helpless man by the waist and slams him into a tree with a sickening thud. The gundark drags the lifeless man by the leg off into the jungle. " one less to worry about I guess " Dozkai muses to himself before moveing on Minutes turn to hours as Dozkai pushes farther into the jungles depths. As the light begins to fade Dozkai desides to find shelter for the night and maybe some food if his stomach has anything to say about it. After a few minutes of searching he finds a small clearing around a large tree with a cavernus root base. " perfect but i've ran out of time to hunt something to eat.... guess the dry rations will have to do " he sighs as he sits down his pack. - meanwhile Orona and her team finish off the small group they ambushed and check the bodies only to find that none of the targets are present. " Thought for sure we would have found one of them by now " she says to her scouts " sorry mam " one replies " not to worry even these fools give us some practice" she says calmly Suddenly every thing goes quiet the birds and animals stop calling in the night even the breeze dies " somethings not right.." Orona says bringing her blaster up and her team follows suit " perseptive " says a mechanical voice from the shadows " but your a little late in realizing it " the voice says as a bith steps out of the tree line " Jureu i take it? " Orona says calmly " so you know my name? tell me... how did you come by that information?" Jureu says as he walks slowly closer to the team Orona motions for her team to take the bith down. They fire at the alien but every blaster bolt misses it's mark " that won't work " Jureu says as he waves his hand. Suddenly one of the scouts blasts her comrade "HA! got the smug bastard...no...NO! Sev NO!!" she screams as she kneals beside her fallen comrade Then one of the scouts on the other side of the clearing starts shooting wildly into the jungle " NO STAY BACK!! HELP ME DAMN IT THERE'S TO MANY!!" he yells but there isnt anything to shoot. anouther just falls to his knees laughing maniacally holding his arms out " My arms...there gone...." Jureu laughs coldly " your minds are easy to manipulate. the sences your kind use to survive are simple to twist and warp to my desire" he says as two of the scouts start to fight one anouther " one flaw in your power asshole " Orona says with anger trembleing in her voice as she brings her blaster level " I know where you really are! " she aims into the jungle and fires Jureu cluches his chest and vanishes. the scouts stop hallucinating and shake their heads save for the woman that shot her comrade who continues to sob " Get Sev back to camp. you two come with me " Orona says as she walks toward the treeline " H..How did you..ack..know? " Jureu says cluching the large hole in his chest " just before it got quiet I noticed movement over here..." Orona says as she draws her knife and cuts his throat -meanwhile Kiran stops his team and motions for them to flank the target ahead of them " So boring thought i'd have found one of the others to play with by now" the moutain of a man says out loud A twig snaps under Kirans foot and the giant turns looking into the darkness of the jungle before turning back and continueing on his path. Kiran cursed under his breath before following the man. The minutes creep by as they follow this behemoth of a man waiting for the right moment to attack before he stops and sits against a tree. Giving the signal the two scouts open fire hitting their target. " well that was easy " says Kiran as he walks over to the corpse of the giant to take a holo as proof " THAT HURT!! " bellows Tormax as he knocks Kiran off his feet. The scouts open fire again but Tormax brushes the shots off as he get to his feet again. Kiran rolls to his feet and rushes towards Tormax " Now I am going to crush you " Tormax roars as he picks up a large rock and tosses it at one of the scouts who tries to roll out of the way but the rock crushes his leg. Kiran leaps onto Tormax's back stabing him with his retractable vibro-knife over and over but the giant just rams his back into a tree crushing Kiran. " get off me " Tormax roars as Kiran clings to him " Do it now!! " Kiran yells to the only scout still standing who takes aim with an overloaded blaster. - Meanwhile Dozkai has finished his shelter and is about to eat when he hears the leaves rustle. Standing against the trunk of the tree blaster at the ready he waits. " come out I know your there " he hears a feminine voice call out " do it or i'll toss in this thermal detenator " " Tenala? I'd have thought you'd prefer to snipe your targets instead of calling them out" He replies as he steps into veiw, blaster still ready. " I you'd normaly be right...but I have orders " the twi'leck says coldly " my superiors want you to work for them as an agent inside the sith. you can accept or you can die " with these last words a small team of troopers step out of the under brush " I see and just who is it that you work for? " the young sith asks " you don't need to know that. all you need know is we only have the empire's wellbeing at heart" Tenala replies simply as the wine of blasters being overcharged punctuate her words Dozkai takes a deep breath as he takes stock of the situation. then in a blur of motion he stabs the trooper nearest him in the neck, then uses him as a sheild as the other troopers open fire. He take out three more with well placed shots before he takes a glancing shot to his leg. Now limping he lashes out with the force smashing two of the troopers togeather and slaming a third into a tree. " ENOUGH! " Tenala screams as she knocks Dozkai back with a blast of force " you may have disabled my men but you are no match for me " she says with a smirk Dozkai laughs " oh really? " he reaces out with the force lifting her by her throat. " but...how? in training you...where bottom rung with force projection" she says between gasping for breath " only a fool shows his true strength to an enemy before he needs to " he replies softly repeating somthing his mother allways told him. Dozkai tightens the force around her neck till she stopped moving then lets her fall lifelessly to the ground. - meanwhile Bilal and his team are hot on the trail of Kila. " sir I think the target knows we are on her tail " a scout says as he points out a crude trap. " this could get interesting...take the men and flank her I'll keep on her trail" Bilal Orders and the men nod before moving out It didn't take long before Kila noticed those that persued her had split up. so she changes tactics doubles back a short way and hides in a hollow tree. Bilals men pass by in the distance shortly after and she smiles to herself. " and now the hunter becomes prey " she whispers as she leaps from tree to tree after the scouts - meanwhile " sir two Hopfulls sent for the last trial just tried to re-enter the compound." a trooper says as he enters the overseer's office " and?" the overseer asks not even glancing up from his datapad " we have them detained and are awaiting your orders sir" the trooper says " kill them" the overseer sighs The trooper salutes and leaves. " Idiots what part of ony one lives didn't they understand" the overseer mumbles to himself before turning to look out the window at the jungle " not much longer now"
