The Freak and The Theif

I awoke to hearing Samos talking to other in mates. He talked about revolution. Escape plans. “It won’t work.” I sat up and walked to my cell door. We are allowed two hours of time to stretch our legs. Well all except those who were being treated. We stayed in our cells. “The guards change simultaneously. I’ve been here long and often enough to know. I tried many of those plans. Not one will work. You have to wait for the perfect moment. And the perfect element, surprise.” I lit one of the cigarettes I had bought off one of the inmates. “The one thing the Baron as well as the KG hate and will attempt to destroy more promptly are the Metal Heads. They have been attacking more and more. My contact on the outside tells me how they are becoming bolder. Just the other day, Metal Heads attacked one of the Eco supply trains and went right into the middle of the Bazaar.”



“Who is your contact?” Samos asked me.



“I don’t tell names.” It was mail time. I had gotten one letter. Some got none at all. It was from the one true friend I have always had since I was little. I read the message from him to myself.

Dear Earring friend,

today three lurker people were freed. Two people now friends of lurker people and Bruter helped them out of red warriors cages. Lurker people are on there way to freedom. I can't think of way to repay warrior-friends of lurker people. can Earring lady help Bruter?

Brutter.

I laughed at his words. Bruter had been my mother’s … well he was her slave. She died and he became mine. I began teaching him how to read and write. As well as speak. He was getting better. I use to only get a word or two and the rest grunts. I got my piece of paper and wrote back.



Brutter,

I am glad the Lurker People are on their way to freedom. Your dream is coming true. How about giving them that shiny piece you found. You know the one that looks like it is glowing. Leave it on the door of your place in the water slums.

I knew what I was sending. The shiny piece was a piece of the seal of Mar. I knew as soon as I saw it. I gave the letter to the guard. I also pulled him aside.



“BACK OFF.” He went to swing at me.



“I have information. There is a seal of Mar piece going to be shown at the water slums. Two people are gonna take it. They work for the underground. They are tough. You should surround them and take them out.” I walked to the back of my cell. I smiled. Poor bastards were going to be killed. Oh well. I will be able to be free.

‘And back to Jak.’ The dark side had awoken. ‘you know you want to be back to him.’ I sighed. She was right. All I had to do was wait. I’d soon see ship after ship of Krimson Guards being shipped off to the Water Slums.



I didn’t have to wait long. I heard the alarms go off. The guard ran past. I smiled to myself. I went to my cell door. I stuck out my tongue to take out the piercing. Undoing my tongue piercing I used the bar to pick through the code on the cell door. I heard the click. Bingo. I pushed open my door and ran for the door. I heard Samos call out to me. “I’ll be back Samos. I’ll come back for you. I promise.” I began going through the back way and avoiding guards. I soon smelt the city’s grime. I was free. Jumping out the small entrance I quickly made my way back to my house. Opening the door I saw Jak. He was just in a towel.



“Jak…” He turned around and I saw his body covered in scars and bruises.



“Ruean… You.. You made it out…” I smiled at him.



“Did you have any doubt?” I was getting dizzy. I hadn’t had any food, water, or sleep. HE had abused me and haunted my nightmares. I close my eyes and I saw his face. “I’m gonna pass out now. Please catch me.” Blackness.

So This is chapter five... sorry it took so long I had to get Jak 2 again. I had sold my last copy to pay off some bills.
