Prisonbreak

First the Argonian went to the Arcane University, he had joined the Mages Guild successfully, he had just..forgotten to get to the University until now.

Well, the best minds are always chaotic more or less...

But no matter that he was more than fashionable late,he got into the University, tagging down a fellow Argonian.

Now he had two books, there were still two to go if the things he had been told were true.

So off to the Market District, he still knew some people who owed him.

The Bosmer who had a reservation for the book he wanted, was at first ...unfriendly to him.

But that changed pretty soon when he dropped some hints about a dead emperor, the book, some strangely clothed people and the guards who would love to get their hands on someone responsible.

That went even more successfull than he could have dared to hope.

A 'V.I.P.Pass' to the mythic dawn. If he jiggled things with Baurus, they should have enough time to get everything done in one night.

But first...

"Birdie!" "Tweetie" "Chit" bellowed three voices in unisono and before he could turn around he was tackled from behind and smoothered in furry hugs "Damn..lemme..hapfuh..you sheed!" struggling to at least get his head out of the crushing embrance "Can we..not here...dammit!"

"Hey we just..."

"...went out to get..."

"..breakfast but we didn´t think..."

"...we would see you so soon...."

"...Especially after the cheese.."

"...and after what we heard..."

"...about Kvatch.."

Hassiri, Ra'jiradh, and Urjabhi dragged the poor Argonian off in their combined hug, letting him go as they were safe in their home, Kyrell coughing some hairs up and getting a headache when all of the three used their brotherly speech power

"Hold your horses..and each other" scrapping hairs from his tongue, than beeing offered three mugs with water

"Funny you lot..don´t remind me of the cheese how did you get that out of your fur, we were all covered from head to toe"

Luckily with his slightly greased feathers the cheese peeled from his feathers like water pearled from a ducks back, he didn´t think the Khajiit brothers had been so blessed.

"Oh you know birdie...we helped each other out...it was great fun...but we could also show you" they all held their hands up "But we know you doooon´t like that...so we won´t...but dish out what happened, we might wanna make a special edition"

Yes the Argonian could imagine very good what the brothers had done with the cheese covering their bodies and...helping each other out. At least they had realised when he wasn´t high on potions and sleep deprived, they could shove their stuff into each other but not at him.

"Could it be you get more annoying with every time we meet?"

"Yeah that is a speciality of ours" one spoke but all three nodded in unisono, hands at their back and bowing lightly.

"Funny...ok you want an interview. So I have a bunch of things to tell but not everything is allowed in your little paper" sighing as he sat back on a chair, leaning heavily on the table, waiting till they sat down and had taken paper and ink to start writting.

He told them about Kvatch, leaving some things out, mentioning about a certain cult and a special thing about taxes that made the brothers grin as if they had caught the canary.

They had more or less, said canary sat in front of them.

"Oh I think we will love that.....you can store the things....you will free from the tower....here with us. We have enough room...and no one will search here...and even if, no one will find the secret cellar" again all three nodded

"Oh did you have breakfast? I go out and buy some and you three can talk"Ra'jiradh said, he was very similiar to Hassiri, all three born the same day from the same womb, but the two really were two sides of a coin and Ra was the runner, more so than his brother. And Urjabhi...well he was the most laid back and gave the Argonian the least grief.

"You know I heard that Lex has very fine paper and pergaments and the best ink money can buy in his room..if you maybe..find out his source, I would buy gladly every last sheet and drop you can obtain" Jabjab meant non-chalantly as he still scribbled away, working on the next courier they needed to press and send out.

"Hey so you are now the Hero of Kvatch, how does that feel?"

"Terrible..." the Argonian groaned, letting his head fall on the table, just speaking about it had made him tired again, only growling a bit when Raji slid next to him and started petting his head

"Poor birdie, bet all the boys and girls run after you now..I mean you are sooo unique, do you already trip over your admirers?"

With a huff Kyrell swatted at the annoying cat halfheartedly, secure with the Khajiits that they would no longer try any stuff he didn´twant...or maybe he had become too laid back so it wasn´t so much fun and new to them to rile their birdie up

"Hey I am back here is you....hey did you break Tweetie?" he accused his brother, serving breakfast on the table, taking buckwheat groats, fruit preserve, coffee and a can of cream out of the basket he had gotten from the inn before he knocked him brotherly over the head

"No he didn´t"-"No I didn´t" both Khjaiit and Argonian answering at the same time, looking at each other and Kyrell just rolling his eyes, head landing back on the table with a 'thump' while the cats chuckled

"Come on guys eat up"

"Oh no so much sugar for you? I better leave after breakfast..." the cats were grating normally, but sugar..it needn´t to be moonsugar to make them go wild

Serving themselves they still smiled and as if to proove a point, Raji nearly poured the sweetened preserve over his soft cooked groats before adding cream

"Taking all for yourself, do you?" Jabjab groused a bit, he had the habit of drinking coffee all day and mixing fruit preserve into the dark, bitter liquid.

Kyrell had no idea how the Khajiit stayed so calm with that much coffee in his body.

"No worries, I have a second jar here" pulling another earthen pot out of the basket, shoving it to his brother while Kyrell grabbed the mostly empty container to scrap the couple of spoons on his grouts, mixing it and trying the coffee with fruit preserve like Jabjab did.It couldn´t always be potions, could it?

Barely Kyrell escaped shortly after breakfast. Damn cats couldn´t keep their paws to themselves. At least he knew he could trust them to keep their mouths shut and tongues tied and not blabber about the things he had told them.

Sugar and sexual encounters seemed to keep them going, he had no idea how they kept up with making that paper  when they always did ..stuff...

That they could still embarass him so easily with their lewd doings, now it was most times friendly banter but in the beginning he really had been scared sometimes.

And they have had a howl about the whole Sanguine thing, a prank after their hearts delight.

Sighing he wandered through the streets, he still needed to talk to some beggars....aaaand visit an old friend.

He was a damn busy lizard. But as he was already in the Imperial city, why not pack in as much work into it as possible. Or he might turn too soft and not survive the next faithed encounter that forced him to go on with depleted reserves.

______________________

Sweet, sweet memories as he wandered out of the city, through the lush grass that had started to grow again..it was sometimes a bit baffling that in this country were so many different...seasons..climates. Bruma had still snow, just yet thawing while the Imperial city started into the summer and Leyawinn was nearly tropical with no snow, only a bit colder and more rain.

It was the same sewer gate he had first fleed out of, now he would go the way backwards.

A grin stole over his face as the ring slipped on his finger and magika trickled over his feathers, another ring on the other hand followed as he stood in the small sliver of shadows which the sewerentrance cast, his form wavering, turning murky as he went partly see through.

It was far from perfect, just enough to give him an advantage if he would meet someone he didn´t want to see..or the other way round.

The smell of the wastewater was bearable now that he had a mask he could wear, hiding his features...sometimes it was a hinderance to look like no other.

He heard the guards before he could see them, the torches on the walls casting shadows through which he flickered, the dark clothes he wore hiding him even better now that he was partly one of them.

The boots may have been a good thing during a fight, protecting their wearer, but the rubbles that crunched under the sole, the loud footfalls were a give away...better for him...and them.If he heard them early enough to get away that would mean no fights, no one hurt.

Just as he pressed himself in a small alcove a guard walked by, carrying a torch, standing exactly there where he needed to go next..and from the other side another guard came...Umpa!

He didn´t dare to breath as one stood left from him, the other right and they made small talk. Goosh didn´t they have anything different to talk about than the Emperor..may he rest in peace, this got old.

Rubble fell somewhere, rats scurrying away and the guards parted back on their ways, both now looking for the cause of the noise.

When they would see that there was nothing they would turn back all too soon, Kyrell sneaked on tiptoes out of the small hideout, directly behind the guard, walking with his steps he took..left right..left right...and he turned, Kyrell slinking behind him, scurrying into a small corridor where a wall had  fallen down over the centuries, enough for him to weasel through, just as the man scuffled his feet. Not that the Argonian dared to turn around, the noise was enough to send fire through the back of his neck with the fear to be seen.

After the noises told him that the guard had turned again, walked away from where he hid, Kyrell sank down for a minute, just catching breath.

That had been much too close.

He remembered that cave he was in, where he had seen his first goblin.

Now it was even more eerie and deserted than before. That he had been able to use the shortcut through the ayleidian, white stone halls instead of taking the long way, was a good thing, he still detested them. Maybe because they had nearly cost him his life all those months ago, the first real threat, fearless attackers.

Stopping halfway between the cave and his old cell he dug some clothes out of his knapsack and a dagger, wrapping the clothes together and slinging them over his shoulder, kept in place by a belt.

Not much longer, than he could free his old friend...if he had survived down there.

He knew the Imperials kept  relatively good care on their prisoners, so the chance was high to find him in average health.

And who would guess that a rescue occured while it was bright day?

His cell was the same as when he had left it, only that there was more dust, cobwebs.

How well he could remember that day, the first one of his new life, whatever had been there before.

He stood there, leaning against wall, eyes closed for seconds in a memory and listening, listening for footsteps, rustling of armour...there was none so he stepped for, in front of the bars

"Old friend,it was a long time ago, wasn´t it?"
