Chapter 1
So, nothing raunchy yet. But I’ll get there in the next chapter. I promise. Oh, and don’t lose hope on Kaim. He has no memory left after all. He doesn’t know what he likes.
I don’t own this!!!!!!!!!!!
Chapter 1
Frowning at the council who refused to stop questioning him on his survival, Kaim turned his eyes to the man who had employed him.
“I don’t know what happened,” He repeated in a careful monotone. Roxian, the chairman of Urah’s council ground his teeth. Kaim, keeping his face carefully emotionless, mentally growled. How many times would he have to tell these stupid people he didn’t know anything. He knew he had survived because he was immortal, but that wasn’t exactly something a man could go telling people. From what little he recalled of people, and it was very little, they seemed to be assholes. For lack of a better word.
Besides, even if he were to tell them that he were immortal and he had survived merely because he imply couldn’t die, the string of questions that would follow that would be impossible for him to handle. There were only a few things he recalled about himself: one was his name, the other that he was a mercenary, and the last that he was immortal. He had no idea how long he had lived, where he had come from, or most importantly how he had gotten to be the way he was. To him, an immortal man with amnesia who just happed to know how to fight, becoming a mercenary seemed like the best way to go.
“Councilman,” Gongora, his employer, finally spoke up, “allow me to explain.” Kaim breathed a silent sigh of relief as the stock and well built sorcerer stood up. Hopfully the man would be able to clear up the situation without raising more questions, “this man is immortal.” Or not. Kaim, were he a dramatic man, would have collapsed at that response, fortunately he was rather stoic.
As Gongora began to explain why he couldn’t explain any further Kaim allowed his mind to drift off. He had met a girl on his way back, some wench in a yellow dress who had also managed to survive the meteor. Concluding that she must somehow be immortal as well he made a mental note to question her. That is, if he ever saw her again. He hoped so.
However long he had been living, he just knew it had been a long time, he could not recall the last time he had gotten laid. He was good looking so it couldn’t have been that long, after all his father had always told him. ‘son, if you can’t remember the last time it has been too long,’ Wait he just remembered something!
~
He was sitting across the table from his father. The man’s face was a blur but Kaim was certain that this man was indeed his father. The man was eating a steak and drinking heavily from a flask.
“Son, just remember. If you can’t remember it’s been too long,”

Nodding at the memory Kaim concluded it would be best to find some action in this town tonight.
“So we are in agreement then lieutenant Argonar?” The councilman concluded causing Kaim to blink in confusion.
“Pardon?” he asked refusing to let his embarrassment show through. Gongora smiled politely, though to Kaim it looked more than a kiss-ass cover-up more than anything else,
“The chairman has humbly requested that you investigate Grand Staff. Since you’re immortal, he wishes you go so no one will be harmed.” Having not the slightest idea of what that was or why he was being sent there, Kaim nodded.
“Understood,” He responded in his monotone. As the chairman nodded and made the sign to dismiss him, a thought occurred to Kaim. That girl was immortal too. If he revealed that to the chairman, perhaps she would be sent on the trip with him. Not that she would be much use, but her breasts would give him something to look at along the way, that, and who could resist his body? Now what was her name. . .
“Chairman, there is another immortal.” He spoke flatly “Her name was Balmore.”
Narrowing his wrinkled brow, the chairman thought for a brief moment before nodding his head.
“Yes we will send for her as well. As for you lieutenant, you’re dismissed.”
More than pleased with himself but still feeling slightly empty for some odd reason, Kaim exited the building. The guards outside quickly informed him that he would be allowed to stay at the inn for the night and that they would send a messenger for him when he was to depart. Until then he was free to roam the streets of Urah.
