Duping the Enemy
Chapter 2 – Duping the Enemy
Rubbing the water out of her pristine blond hair, Rozalin finished her common shower and put on the sleeping pajamas that Adell’s mother had bestowed her. A lot had run through her mind as she reflected on all of the trouble the guy had gone through in order to help her find her father. She still didn’t trust him any farther than she could throw him; and every time she set him up in a trap he managed to get away. It wasn’t just the dumb luck that followed him, it was the fact that despite what he knew she had done he still adhered to the promise of finding her father. This whole thing confused her utterly, and as heat radiated from her cheeks, she couldn’t help but be upset by the whole ordeal. “Hmpf!” she scoffed more to herself than anyone, “I can’t believe I’ve been duped into this precarious predicament.”
A soft knock rapped at the door followed by a woman’s voice asking to be allowed in. “Adell’s mother…” she whispered before Rozalin spoke up, “You may enter.”
“Ah, my dear princess,” the mother seemed to emit waves of devious joy which made Rozalin a little uneasy at first. But over time she realized that Adell’s mother was a generous woman. Maybe a bit of a fruit loop at times, but at least she was strong and the boss of the house. She admired that much of the woman. “I’m glad to see that you find your PJs satisfactory. Still…they’re a little tight in the chest due to your wings and breasts.”
“It’s all right. I don’t imagine I’ll be here for much longer. I appreciate what you’ve done even though your family is impoverished.”
“Don’t mention it, dear,” it seemed Mom wasn’t fazed by the commentary towards their economical state. “Sorry my son’s such an idiot. I was hoping he’d grow out of the whole ‘I don’t like girls’ phase, but it appears Eleanor left quite an impression on him both physically and mentally.”
“Eleanor?”
“Oh yes. Eleanor’s a feisty lil’ succubus. But I guess all was not for the best. She’s a little too aggressive for him and is certainly a cunning lil’ thing. The boy knows how to get out a few scrapes here and there I suppose.”
The last thing Rozalin wanted to do was reminisce about Adell’s old girlfriends. Rolling her eyes, she walked away from the woman to tend to her hair, “I’m not interested in who Adell’s been with. I hope this Eleanor you speak of teaches him a lesson.”
“As I said before, my son’s a complete idiot. But that’s where you can cash in on this golden opportunity, dear!” The poor girl was about to be led into a massive trap, with Adell’s mother the ringleader of the whole escapade. Obviously not following on the same page as her, Mom went over and sat down next to the princess to explain, “Adell just doesn’t know his place when it comes to royalty.”
“Feh. That’s obvious,” Rozalin thought to herself with great sarcasm. Hopefully this woman would get to the point soon. She was hungry and the scent of dinner wafting in the air was tantalizing to her senses, practically mocking her that she was now running on an empty stomach.
“I think things would go a lot smoother if he simply knew the right methods of pleasing you.” Maybe this woman wasn’t as nutty as she appeared to be. “After observing you both, I think it would be best if you engaged in sexual intercourse in order to relieve the tension between you.” The color from Rozalin’s face had completely drained into a pasty pallor before it performed a volt face in the opposite direction, “E-…excuse me?” was the only thing she could mumble out of pure shock. “Are you joking?”
“No,” the woman replied with a totally serious face (for a hyena’s smile), “Why would I be joking?”
“Didn’t you hear me in the kitchen a little while ago? I would never even dare to marry a hu-“
“-Sex and marriage have nothing to do with each other in this situation.” The bluntness of the statement drained the color from Rozalin’s face yet again as the mother continued, “I thought you were raised as royalty.”
“I-I AM!”
“Then don’t you know that royalty often have one, if not many, courtesans to serve their baser needs, dear?” The thought then crossed her mind, “Oh yes, but you are a woman, so in your case I guess that would make it more like a gentleman caller of sorts.” Rozalin was speechless. Her brain couldn’t even muster words to speak for a while. “While I understand my son is a bit dense, he’s quite the catch from a physical perspective, yes? With the proper training he’ll make a fine partner when you wish to be serviced.”
Eventually the princess managed to recapture her voice and a violent blush, “You make him seem like some expendable paramour! Why would I ever want someone who is so beneath me in status and refinement as a bedmate of any kind?! Have you gone mad?” Just when she thought she had the upper hand, Mom gave an exasperated sigh with the whole ‘poor girl’ look to go with it.
“My dearest princess, it is common practice for a noble, even royalty, to take on concubines for sexual pleasures. If you check your history books these concubines were often slaves and servants. Don’t you see, my dear? They live to serve their masters, in every way imaginable. Even when you marry another royal, they will never be as pleasurable as your servants. Since Adell has already vowed to be your escort, I recommend utilizing his services for more than just a bodyguard.” A wink followed afterwards that was filled with mirth and mischief. A cold chill ran down Rozalin’s back while her face still burned with embarrassment at the direct invitation to make Adell some sort of personal sex slave.
“Even if what you say is true,” she replied coolly, “Why would I ever pick Adell? He doesn’t like women and he already mocks the commands I give him. Unless I point him in the direction to my father, he refuses to do anything else that I demand of him.”
“That’s because you’re not milking it for all it’s worth!”
“…Huh?”
“If you play the Overlord Zenon card then course Adell will listen to you, correct?” This question was responded with a nod before Mom continued, “So it would make sense that you should refuse to help him find Zenon unless he did X, Y, and Z. If you stick to your guns about it, Adell will have no choice but to comply.”
Despite the fact that the woman was ‘nucking futs’ she did have a point. For a moment Rozalin was in deep thought about the issue until she realized what, exactly, she was pondering. “Oh my god, I can’t believe I even considered it! Again, I would never want to be anywhere near Adell! He’s just a repulsive battle maniac with the most ridiculous one-track mind I have ever encountered!” The weight of the bed shifted and Rozalin’s eyes widened as she felt his mother’s warm breath in her right ear. “And you can’t take your eyes off of him, can you?”
As if she wasn’t blushing bad enough before, now her whole body felt feverish as her heart fluttered. This reaction caused Mom to smile, knowing that she had caught the princess in an illustrious trap and just needed to push a little further. Her lips closed in closer to the point where Rozy’s ear felt like it was being tickled by feathers of words. “I see how you look at him, dear. You may bicker and try to fool him, but a mother knows better. Adell’s a catch to you and I’ll tell you why.” As Rozalin tried to lean away his mother just scooted in closer. Their outer thighs pressed against each other through their clothing and soon the princess was worried that her heartbeats would give her away. This sensation was foreign to her, and his mom was making things worse. “You’ve been brought up your entire life being shut away in a palace with no one to broaden your horizons. But here you are, in an unknown place, with an unknown man who has promised to escort you back home and protect you every step of the way. A total stranger; a ruffian. Someone who refuses to listen to you, and pushes you around one minute before reaching out for your hand the next.” By now the princess’ chest was heaving up and down. Her voluptuous breasts rising and falling as she felt the blood rushing to her head with furious intensity. When Adell’s mother reached for her hand, she nearly jolted with electricity, imagining it was him rather than her.
“He’s rugged, obstinate, and obnoxious. But he’s also unnaturally caring and selfless. What would it be like to be loved by someone like that? To make love to someone like that? Will he be rough and ravish you against a wall in a most ungentlemanly manner? Or will be slow and methodical, taking care of every facet of your body much like how he acts on his own moral compass? Either way-,“ she paused for a moment to look upon the young princess, knowing that she had pinned the girl into a checkmate position, “-you’re curious. The color of your skin and the heaviness of your breath betray you. You’re a girl of immeasurable beauty, my dear. I’m sure even Adell will come to his senses under your power. Why don’t you ride him and release the burden of your insatiable curiosities together, hm?”
By now Rozalin’s mind felt like it was in a swirling vortex of unbridled lust. The damn woman managed to weed into her mind and pollute any innocent thoughts she may have cultivated. Pulling away from his mom, she put her hands to her head to cover her eyes to try and ground herself, “I think I’m going to be ill,” she murmured while her brain wandered elsewhere. It was now too late, the lock had been bashed and the door was open to flights of fancy. It was repulsive and enthralling all at the same time and she didn’t even realize until several minutes later that the mother had left her to her thoughts. Did royalty really keep concubines and courtesans at their beck and call to perform any personal need they commanded? Could Rozalin get away with conning Adell into doing something like that?
“I can’t believe I just pondered that question!” her mind was now racing around trying to stamp out and admonish any impure thoughts on that issue. “Adell’s a stupid, selfish, pretentious simpleton with no regard to my personal demands. He’s a battle-crazy lunatic that’s always going around and beating his ethics into people with his fists! As if showing off his rock hard abs and flexing his pectoral muscles around while he…obliterates other demons…senseless is going to impress…me…” Pausing, she tried to rewind those last sentiments in her head and record new thoughts over them. “As if some ripped meathead would ever know where to touch me. Or make love to me. Or…” now she was utterly confused, “What the hell am I even talking about? There’s no way I could harbor an attraction for some red-headed degenerate with an enormous penis-I mean ego!” Her hands clapped over her mouth faster than she could bark orders and fearfully looked around the room to make sure no one saw her say that. Adell’s mother was more cunning than she actually gave the woman credit for. Realizing this, Rozalin slowly removed her hands away and looked to the closed door where the mother had left a few minutes prior. “That woman is good. If I weren’t already so angry from what she’s done to me, I’d probably make her my advisor.”
Backing away from the door, Mom suppressed her urge to snigger evilly about the entire situation. Having heard every word, the seed was now planted and the first part of the plan was going smoothly. She sneaked away quietly with a slight frolic in her step as she left a baffled and bewildered princess behind.
------------------
Dinner was oddly peaceful without Rozalin causing a stir with Adell. In fact, the princess was quiet throughout the entire meal, allowing Hanako and Taro to take center stage with their own antics betwixt them. The whole situation seemed odd for Adell, who wasn’t used to Rozalin being this quiet since he first met her. In the back of his mind all he could conclude was that she was still angry with him from the fight they had before dinner. Either way he made up his mind that he would not apologize to her on the mere fact that she copped a serious attitude with him. He may not have been royalty, but he wasn’t dirt beneath her feet.
Mom just beamed with happiness as she force-fed her husband out of demonic love. With the obnoxious frog out of the way after Taro and Hanako’s traumatic game of “doctor,” there was nothing blocking the princess from tagging a nice piece of her son’s ass. But leaving everything up to the proud girl was not going to be enough. What better way to coax this out into the open than by making it part of the family conversation? “Rozalin, dear, you’re awfully quiet tonight. After that wonderful talk we had a little while ago I thought for sure you’d mention it to Adell already.”
For the first time ever, Adell actually saw the look of fear in Rozalin’s eyes. Meanwhile Dad seemed to shrink down in his seat which signaled to Hanako that a plot was afoot. Grinning from ear to ear she turned to her idol and asked, “Ooo! Tell us what’s on your mind, Rozy!” The evil woman purposely backed her into a corner and now she struggled to find a way out of this topical mess. “Uh, well,” Rozalin stammered a little, tucking a lock of blond hair behind her ear while fishing for a response, “It’s really nothing that important. Just talking about alternative routes we might look into in order to find my father.”
“Oh,” Adell bought it hook, line, and sinker, “I’m glad you’re taking this more seriously. I’m sure we’ll find Overlord Zenon if we concentrate hard on places he might be.”
Puffing out her cheeks in fury, she wanted nothing more than to smack Adell for insinuating that she wasn’t taking this whole ordeal seriously. But instead she spat out a vitriolic, “Yeah, I’m sure we will,” and decided to swallow her pride and give it a rest. But Mom had other ideas in mind! There was no way little Miss Rozy was going to weasel out of this ordeal. Not on her watch anyway, “Yes, it was about finding Overlord Zenon, but lately poor Rozalin has become exhausted and has been lacking the-what is it you said, dear? Oh yes! The inspiration to continue on your quest.”
His chair scraped loudly along the wooden floor as Adell shot up and gave Rozalin an incredulous look, “What!? Are you kidding me!?”
“No! I didn’t saythat !” she cried out helplessly, only to glance upon his mother with scorn while she looked back with devilish pride.
“Well what did you say then? What more are you going to force me to do in order to,” he sarcastically gestured in some quotations to the word, “’re-inspire’ you again?” His mom was going to burn relentlessly in a thousand hells after this whole thing was straightened out. The two children looked on with intense interest as the odd couple flared up their aggression once more in a game of tug-o-war with words.
“Dammit, Adell! You’re such a boorish simpleton!” she screamed.
“Better a simpleton than a stuck-up princess!”
“You dare insult me?!”
“Yes, I dare insult you! And I dare to question your sense of direction at this point! I don’t think you have a link to your father. I think you’re randomly pointing in any odd direction you feel like because you don’t want to admit you’re freakin’ lost!” The whole table was silent and even his Mom was shocked and stunned at the tone and words her son used against the girl. This certainly wasn’t how she planned on nudging the two together. She knew they fought a lot, but somehow she miscalculated that into her grand master plan.
Rozalin got up from the table and as she turned her foot hooked on the furniture’s leg. Before she knew it she was plummeting towards the floor. But with a yank on her left arm, she was saved from kissing the dusty old boards by none other than her ruffian bodyguard. “God damn that bloody contract!” she screamed in her head; and as she regained her footing, her body twisted around and a loud sound similar to the crack of a whip echoed in the kitchen. Adell’s grip on her was gone, and her right hand had traveled to the left side with nothing but a red mark tagged on the left cheek of her contracted protector. Everyone was stunned, even Rozalin who committed the act. But now was the chance to regain her dignity as a princess and as the daughter of Overlord Zenon. “Don’t touch me,” she hissed back at him as his eyes averted away and never made contact with hers after the nasty slap he just received. “Don’t ever touch me again you filthy brute.” Utterly flustered and on the verge of wanting to cry in desperation, Rozalin gave a quick glance at the family before shuffling off with her nose proudly in the air and headed back to her room. The loud slamming of the door being the only sound left before this whole tryst had finally completed itself.
By now he realized what he had done and with frustration built up inside of him, he tugged haplessly at his hair before kicking his chair and storming out of the house to cool his head. The family was left behind to sit stunned for a while. Eventually the kids burst out into fits of giggles now that their brother and Rozy were fighting like a married couple. But Dad simply leaned in and asked Mom, “Was this part of your plan.”
For once the woman was humbled by her own husband and simply replied, “…Nope.”
“Now what?”
There was a minute of silence as he could almost hear the wheels clicking around inside that head of hers. Eventually his patience was rewarded with an answer, “I nix the subtle approach. The direct method is the only way to go.”
“That was the subtle approach?!”
“Yes. And you’re going to help me on this next phase as soon as Taro and Hanako go to bed.”
“Wh-what!?”

Eleanor: The demon succubus in Disgaea 2 that gave Adell the scars on his face and is apparently one of the primary reasons as to why he dislikes women so much.

“Wh-what!?”
