I do not own Tekken, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Silver and Charcoal - II
Author's Note: Yeah, I know it's been a while since I last posted antyhing, but my keyboard was not helping. Anyhow, I've had nice reviews on this story so I decided to continue on the thread. This is a vague attempt at writing a fic for two characters I don't know all that much, considering I haven't played Tekken 2, it's not that easy, but it's just for fun after all.

Chapter II
There was not a day passing by that did not remind Lee of that first time he had talked to his brother. Not a single day, not a single smile, not a single word would not bring back the order he had received from the very young Kazuya Mishima. Barely one year older than him, the japanese boy had always seemed more mature than the chinese one, and the difference did not reside in the fact that the latter was younger. It was something in his carefree attitude and in his loose being that made Lee Chaolan look ever so much younger. Even when their teenage years struck, the two brothers kept that sort of symbiosis.
Deep inside, the pale-haired chinese boy could feel something more than just brotherly love for Kazuya. He could not describe it as he was still so young and inexperienced, but he knew that the serious teen filled most of his thoughts in a way that he would merely qualify as disturbing. That year was the first time that he had taken even a minute to think back his relation with the demon boy. That year, was the faithful one that their grandfather disappeared. Jinpachi had gone for days, weeks, months without ever giving a form of sign to the two young boys. They had moved into town, and it was much harder for the old demon to visit his family. Kazuya had been worried sick about him, scared that someone happened to find out about their cursed blkood, afraid that someone had hunt the first Mishima down to his grave. He was scared, but he would never admit that, because he was strong, he was not going to give in to such petty resentment as sadness or loneliness were. Every night he would sneak out of the room he shared with his chinese adoptive brother and sit on the roof for hours, just staring at the stars, imagining his grandfather was sitting there, next to him, rambling on and on about stories that he had heard already a thousand time.
"Hey brother..." There was a smile in the voice, and the arrogant tone was unmistakebly Lee's. With calculated and gracious movements, he sat down beside the other young boy. They were teenagers now, they were very different in their conception of life and in their actions, but they were somewhat bonded, even if not by blood. His pale eyes ran over to meet with Kazuya's, the moonlight shyly tracing the contour of their bodies, they seemed to be gleaming, no wonder the closed teen had taken a liking to linger here at night. "Didn't you say that you had some super important exam up in the morning and that you had to rest?"
Only silence answered him at first, but for all the years that they had spent together, and mostly, for those kind words that the chinese youth still remembered as clearly as possible, he tried to be patient. It was only in the name of their brotherhood that he respected the silence that was forced upon him. At this moment, he cursed himself for not even being able to help. "Lee..." there was something very weak in Kazuya's voice, something that made his inner sadness vibrate. Of course there was nothing to be read on the stern features of his face, but there was something... very small, very particular in his voice at that moment. "He is gone, isn't he? He will not be back......"
"What? Who are you talking about? You know father always goes for days without notice, that's not something that should bother you... or are you talking about Jinpachi, perhaps?" The short nod taht followed let him see why his brother had been acting like that. "Well, my dear... there is not much I can tell you but to hang in there and nothing is over... But since I like you, I'll try making an effort." Carefully, without hesitating much, he placed his arm around the other teen's shoulder, not searching to be invasive, rather just lending a silent support.
"Y'know... Don't think that he is gone forever. He'd never do that without coming to see you, because I know for sure that you count a great deal for him... What? Don't look at me like I'm saying bullshit just to make you feel better!"
"Isn't that what you're doing, though?" Asked Kazuya almost bitterly. At this very moment, those words made Lee hate him even more. How could he ever make understand his brother that he was liked, that he was not worth only the yells and shouts that Heihachi would throw at them. But there was nothing he could do but resent his brother some more for that very question.
"No. It's not. Let's face it, I might not have known him very much, but I can tell you that I'm a little like him... and that you're kind of special. You know... the only time I could ever see him smile was when you were asking him for his stories, or when you were so... demanding about training with him. Hell, I am pretty sure that even Heihachi never made his own father smile." His words were sincere, he knew them to be true, because in the end... he was a little like him, that was true.
"Right... I guess... but what do you mean... that you're a little like him, and that I'm kind of special?" Again there was some hesitation in the raven-haired boy's voice. He turned in his sitting position in order to see his friend and brother better under the moonlight.
"Because... brother... when do you really see me smile?" Lee had spoken softly, a little agaisnt his will but it was too late to step back now. The 'I don't know' that was given to him as answer did not only shock him, it frustrated him to a point he could not even tell. He spoke once more, his voice firm and cold "Forget it, Kazuya." And with those words he walked back to their room, leaving the japanese boy to think about what he had just said. No, he would not understnad, no, hewould not even try because Kazuya refused to see more than a brother in Lee, not even a friend, just a brother. Another family member that partially annoyed him, but that he partially loved. He was just another Mishima... and when Lee realized that this is how it was seen, that it when he saw that he loved his brother to a point that he hated him for not even undestanding the situation. A love that is doomed from the beginning.
