My big, fat, Texan author's note
Allrighty, for anyone who's been bothering to wonder where exactly I left the keys to this rickety thing, allow me to explain... please, drop the torches for a few minutes, 'kay?
1. My job's been hell, getting home uber late (early? I dunno, half the time it's 8 or later in the morn), and generally been burnt out on arrival.
2. The computer that I write on is the house computer as opposed to the machine my better half and I have. She plays WoW... all the damn time.
Well, more like for 10+ hours a day, even with a job. So, yeeaaaaaaaah. That won't work.
2 1/2. The family computer is usually occupied by my sister-in-law, who also plays an MMO (granted, it's a text-only MUD, but...), so that really limits my options to hopping on right after work, which is before she gets up, the fact that she sleeps in the living room and not ten feet away from the machine keeping me from really hammering anything out until... well, between 8 or 9.
3. The dreaded Writer's Block (cue ominous music, thunder, etc.). I'm at a total impasse at the moment on where to go... but I have been eking out smidgeons here and there. Not much, but it's something.
So, I decided to go back and re-tool some of the earlier chapters, standardizing the capitalizations and whatnot, and changing a detail that, when I looked back at it, seemed so very clichéd.
So, expect to see the edits up sometime soon, and the new chapter up...
uhm...
errr...
Well, whenever I can kick myself into gear, which should be well before the end of the year. That's a reasonable estimate, right?

Okay, for anyone who may be paying attention, I have an announcement. By roommate and I are finally getting out of this damnable house; we've already pegged down an apartment, and should be moving sometime between tomorrow (16th) and Tuesday (20th). But, of course, there's always a few caveats.
1. I have no clue when we'll be able to get an internet connection set up, and will probably be more worried about getting electricity in first.
2. There can be only one... computer. Well, for the time being, until I can scrounge enough monies together for one of my very own. So, I may not even have a prayer of getting on the intertrons anyways (roomie's a WoW addict)...
3. ... which means that I may or may not get any writing done until then. Not like that'll make too much of a difference, but...

Well, I was going to give a counterpoint of some sort, but that didn't really work.
So, if some individuals don't hear from me for a bit, don't get too worried. It's only temporary, I swear.
Maybe.
