One Ambush to Many
The ambushes were getting old fast. Every day a band of this or that sort of monster appeared and attempted to capture or kill them. Shar ducked under a clumsy swing of a club, stepped back and raised her shield to block the volley of arrows that came from the trees. A blast of heat behind her let her know Vicky was still kicking at least.
The assorted monsters before her erupted in flame as a pillar of fire smashed into their ranks. Shar looked over to Vicky, who just grinned wickedly. Shar was about to return the grin when the world exploded. As her body sailed through the air, a bolt of lightning crashed into her torso, sending her sliding even further down the road. Shar Teel was trained to be able to keep fighting when under attack by a wizard, but the sheer volume of magic being levelled her way was insane. Fireballs crashed into the ground around her as lightning bolts ripped through her. Then she felt groggy and the world faded into black.

“Too easy”, the two Red Wizards said in unison. Both then turned their attention to the dark elf who was sitting in a giant blue cylinder, unaffected.
“I hate it when they cast Sanctuary and try to heal their friends”, one of the Red Wizards said as he cast a second sleep spell on the warrior who was quickly regaining consciousness.
“Really Donovan, I love it”, the other Red Wizard said as he hurled a crimson ball at the magical field encasing the dark elf. Upon the contact, the orb virtually disappeared. The only trace of its existence was the subtle change of hue of the field from a baby blue to a more reddish colour.
“Oh, I must have forgotten all about that little trick of yours. What do you call it again?”
“Shield Trap I, it truly is a fine spell.”
“I thought, judging from the hand gestures, that it was Mako’s Mystic Cell.”
“It is variant I developed. You see, I hit upon the concept while having tea with Alex.”
“How is Alex?”
“You know Alex, always on about his crazy mutants.”
“Yes, he can be quite a drag.”
“Remember last summer…”
“Oh, when he came to the TGLBA meeting dressed as …”
“You know, we really need to change the name, not like there are many lesbians in the ranks of the Red Wizards.”
“Oh, did you hear about Eddie.”
“No.”
“Well, it seems he ran a foul of a curse and is now a woman.”
“Get out!”
“Serious.”
“Well serves that pig right, always running around like some little priss.”
“Tell me about it”.
“SHUT UP, SHUT UP, SHUT UP”, Viconia yelled, her temples were throbbing from the incessant prattle of the two effeminate, if not gay, Red Wizards, “Rape me, torture me, kill me, fine. But shut your mouths”.
The two wizards turned in unison, as they seemed to like to time their movement’s to coincide with the other’s, “Well”, both of them said at the same time, “ we forgot all about our quarry”, and then they all were encased in a soft red light and gone into whirling tunnel of bright and flashing lights.
“Did she just tell us to rape her Worthington”.
“Leave it be Donovan, it is not her fault she had no class”, and for the first time in her adventure, Viconia wished she could fade into black, because they were defiantly not going to shut up.
