Chapter Twelve. Finally my big scene...I've been looking forward to this. I won't ruin it though... I'm satisfied with it!

Chapter Twelve
Link tore down the street as fast as his legs could carry him.
Years ago, that man had taunted him, had fled from him..never with an answer to his question. Why? Why? It wasn't even important, but why, by the Goddesses?!
It bothered him then, and it did now. And now...Florice...his Florice...
He wasn't thinking straight. Even with the cold rain, sweat poured down his face as his mind worked. He knew about him and Florice. Yes...
Link nodded his head, even as he approached the house, accepting his theory. Yes, he knew..and he'd hurt her..he'd tried to take her to make him suffer. And she'd suffered...but now he'd suffer...oh yes, he'd suffer, by Farore!
Link drew the Master Sword and charged into Toreador's house with a scream.
"Alright, you slime! Now I'm going to...huh? Wait just a second, here..."
He wasn't there. The house was comely ely empty. No sign of a struggle...no nothing. Just a slightly messy room...
"Well Link, we finally meet! Hi there!"
Link turned...there he was. The same goofy red clothes. The same big lopsided grin. The same everything. The same as 8 years ago. His mind raced as he walked toward him. After all these years...he only approaches and talks to him after attacking the woman he loves?
"Oh, Link, I have something very important to tell you! You see, Florice..."
"Bastard! I know about Florice! And now I'm finally going to have answers!"
"Link! What do you..."
But it was too late. The Hero was upon him. His fist quickly found a place on his jaw, a knee to his stomach. Toreador attempted to fight back. His feeble attempt at offense was swiftly beaten aside, as a hard boot to the teeth opened a large gash in his mouth.
On and on for nearly 5 minutes, the mugging continued. Link broke everything he could lay his hands on over his back. Link busted a chair over his back, and then threw the ragged, bleeding Toreador on top of the table, holding the Master Sword to his throat.
"Alright, Toreador. Now, talk. What did you do to Florice? She looked so ragged...you damned beast, talk! Now!"
Toreador looked up into the blue eyes of the Hero and a fear filled his heart. This wasn't the Hero that had saved his land...those eyes were filled with hate..with madness...a darkness filled him, and his words stumbled out of his throat jumbled beyond measure.
"I...uhh...but...nothing...all I did was..."
"Liar!"
Link threw him towards the wall, and Toreador screamed at the impact. He was so strong...so strong...he begged for mercy. He prayed to the 3 Godesses.
But he knew it was futile as the mad Hero took his arm behind his back and twisted, holding the Master Sword to his throat.
"Walk," Link hissed into his ear, "and don't make a sound, or we'll see if your blood matches these fancy clothes..."
Toreador simply nodded, his heart hammering in his chest. His mind swam. Link...no...this thing in Link's body...what would it do to him? He didn't know...but he did know that Link had tossed him headfirst down a water drainage hole leading to the sewers beneath town, and he was falling fast...
"No!" his scream was muffled by the water roaring out of pipes all around him. Goddess, it was raining hard...hraigraightened himself up, and tried to get his bearings. Did Link just intend to leave him here? Maybe..he hoped so. By Din, he had to. He couldn't take much more of this...
"Toreador..did you think I was finished with you yet, foolish? Hmmm?"
Oh, Goddess. Toreador slowly turned. And there he was, grinning like the small child who has the candy. Walking toward him...toward him. Oh, Goddess!
Toreador started to run, hearing Link laugh behind him. If he could only get a lead...a small lead...oh!
Something had caught his ankle, and dug in deep. Fire ran up his leg, even as he felt a warmth flowing from the center of that fire...and he found himself being dragged backwards. The pain was too much to bear, and he screamed. He screamed as loudly as his lungs would let him, but it was no use. Link had him now. Right where he wanted him.
"Hookshot, Toreador...how did it feel? Did it feel like it did when you attacked my Florice? Was there pain?"
"Link...please...think...why would I attack her? I only..."
"Shut up! You're lying! You did!"
Link grabbed him by his hair and thrust his head under a pipe, a flood of filthy water pouring down onto him. He couldn't breath...he couldn't see...hear...
"Tell me Toreador. Why? Why? Tell me!"
"I didn't..I...blugghhh!"
Again...the water...the filth...it burned...his heart raced, and Link wouldn't let him up...Goddess, his lungs were going to explode! But at that last moment before the end, he was dragged forward again.
"Come on now, Toreador. Just admit it and make it easier on me and you. You did hurt her. And you did run away from me 8 years ago just to mess with my mind. Didn't you?!"
"Link, have you gone completely insane?!"
"No! You have! It was always you! Always!"
Link's voice had raised to a piercing shriek. His eyes were burning..a deep darkness a f a fiery hate within them. And for the next hour, it continued...water...screaming...water...insanity...the panic. The filth. The burning...
"Well, Toreador? Well? Are you ready to stop being stubborn? I'll let you out of the water if you do..I just want to know..come on, pal...would a hero lie?"
Toreador stared at him. After all this...by the three Goddesses, he would kill him...maybe...maybe if...
"Yes, Link...I did it...I hurt her...and I meant to taunt you...now please..let me go...please..."
Link looked at him, a foriegn light in his eyes. His mind knew this was wrong. But it was so right. So right. So right...
Link drew the Master Sword, and pulled him away from thewingwing water and foprced him to his knees.
Toreador cried uncontrollably. He looked slowly up at the hero. The man who had been a hero to him. His eyes were full of tears, and he saw Link standing above him and smiling. A smile..wait..that..sword...
"Toreador...this is the end. Finally. The end to all your pain..."
"But..but I told you..what you wanted to hear..."
Link smiled softly, and looked down at him. His expression was one of triumph. Of complete assurance in the fact that he was totally right, and his voice came out calm, and cold.
"I know, Toreador..I know you did..."
Toreador's eyes widened, and Link raised the Blade of Evil's Bane high overhead.
"But let's just pretend that you didn't!"
Toreador never spoke. He never had a chance to.
The sword burned through his skull with little effort. It passed through brains, and bones, and blood, and cleanly out of the top of his spine...
The only thing Link left behind him was a mangled corpse and a bloody, spl splattered sewer wall as he headed back to the surface...
