"No, I mean... I never really swore an oath to Caelin or the marquess," Florina continued, her voice growing steadier and more determined with every syllable, "I swore one to Lyn. I should be with her wherever she is."

"Very dutiful," Vaida said. "Was that all?"

"Uhm... yes," said Florina. "Actually, no. You see," she went on when Vaida didn't reply, "I love her. I want to be more than just her knight."

"That shouldn't be too difficult."

Florina smiled faintly. "But I don't want to risk taking her away from you either. You give her something I think I can't."

"How gracious," Vaida said. "Still, why are you discussing this with me? Frankly, I don't care who does what with who." She thought for a moment and added, "Much. With some exceptions."

"Well, if... if it happens and I'm going to be with Lyn and then we'll... I don't know what to do," she mumbled.

"I see," said Vaida. "Why me? Why not Isadora or Louise? They're more understanding than I am."

"Lyn was with you before she was with them," Florina said.

A brief look of annoyance flashed across Vaida's face. With the exception of Fiora everyone had been with her before everyone else and even that could be debateable. It wasn't a truth she liked, but at least she couldn't say everybody's lives revolved around her completely.

"Fine," she said. "Follow me."

Vaida led Florina to an empty bedroom. As she locked the door, the young pegasus knight scooted over to an empty and sat down. Vaida turned her back to the door and leaned against it.
