Chapter 10

Finally the room was empty! Everyone was either in the next room, working out somewhere, or wandering around Tokyo. Hwoarang felt like a teenage girl getting ready to go on a date, freshly showered with his hair dealt with and a touch of body spray, and laying his potential outfits out on the bed. The whole idea of primping himself like that was enough to make him hate himself a little, but he had to upstage that emo clone somehow.

He stood in front of the bed and looked over everything. How the hell was he supposed to know what would work and what wouldn't? Apparently his style was the wrong way. As soon as he heard a hand on the doorknob, he called out, "Hey, that better be you, BT! Get in here!"

The door opened to reveal the man he hoped for. As the man walked over and saw the clothes on the bed, he smirked. "Getting ready eh, buddy?"

Cheeky little monkey, wasn't he? Hwoarang shrugged one shoulder and waved at the minuscule selection. Sure, there was enough variety, but it was nothing to be proud of. "Yeah, well, as you can probably guess for yourself, I don't know what the hell I'm doing. What could possibly be better than my chaps? Come on, help me out!"

The Blood Talon went over the clothes, examining them rather closely, then turned to face Hwoarang with a smile. "Not bad, but I think we might need to pick up a thing or two." Then the smile gradually faded to a serious expression, and he spoke slowly, almost reluctantly. "Listen... I've been doing some thinking. About Jin. Think you'd hear me out?"

Didn't sound too threatening, though he knew he had to be prepared for the guy to get unreasonable and start attacking again. It was a bit of a short fuse he was dealing with. "Yeah, sure. I'll hear you out."

Taking a step closer and resting his hands on Hwoarang's shoulders, the Blood Talon made their eyes meet. He drew a deep breath. "I know we made a deal that I'd give you some tips to help get Jin to notice you, and you'd consider me your leader. Which sounds like a reasonable exchange, yes? But it's a bit awkward, since your primary competition is me. So I figured, expanding the deal would be a good idea."

The Blood Talon swallowed. "Now I know I can set you two up together. It'll take some working on you, and some working on him. But I'm sure I can do it. And whereas he's the one you want... to me, he's just a really good substitute for who I want. So it's better if he's yours, you'd appreciate him more. But since I didn't get where I am by being altruistic, you're going to have to repay that. 'Cause right now he's more or less mine, and that's one damn big gift to give you!"

With a smirk, he shook his head at himself. "It seems silly to give up a certainty for a longshot, doesn't it? But I'm willing to do that. I'll keep trying for Kazama until he's mine. That is, if you'll help me whenever I need it. That's going to be a large amount of favours asked of you, Hwoarang, and yes, it could include bossing you around if I need to. I would never boss you around just to boss you around, though. But I don't intend to give up. One approach after another until I succeed."

After that long speech, the Blood Talon seemed a bit exhausted. Then he shrugged with a smirk. "Well, up to you. I can't stop thinking about those two Jin Kazamas, so forgive me if I got ahead of myself here."

It took awhile to process all of that, and it was even harder not to be insulted. Every time the Blood Talon mentioned his chances with Jin, it struck a nerve in Hwoarang. He cleared his throat, tempted to tell the man exactly what he thought of the idea of BT taking Jin for himself, but it was probably best not to start a fight in that situation. "You can be damn sure I'll do what I can to help you and Kazama. Call on me about that any time you want. An eye for an eye, if you know what I mean. I know when I owe someone."

"Then let's get to work." The other redhead smiled, giving his shoulder a quick pat and turning back to the bed. He pointed at Hwoarang's black vinyl bondage pants - his clubwear. "You can use that one, but you need a new belt. We can buy one, or you can borrow one of mine." With an extra glance over the belts on the side, he quirked a brow. "Well, I guess you could use this one..." He picked up a studded black leather belt, dropping it on the vinyl pants.

Not bad. A bit shiny for every day life in his opinion, but for Jin, he figured he might as well go all out. He couldn't just go out there naked, could he? With a thoughtful nod, he picked up the belt, idly wrapping it around one wrist. "Alright, so what about a shirt? I suppose some old fashioned cotton would be wrong?"

"Yes." No hesitation. "The black leather vest is perhaps adequate, but more colourful leather would be better." He paused to flash a grin. "Of course, if you want his eyes glued on you the moment you walk into the room, you need a harness... but perhaps that's not the signals you want to send out."

No, it wasn't the message he wanted to send at all, but at the same time, maybe it was worth the sacrifice. It was better to wear something like that than to allow Jin to get that message from the competition first.

With his mind made up, he put an arm over the Blood Talon's shoulder. "If this really works, I might start to, you know, not hate you completely. Now come on, pal, let's go buy a harness!"

The man chuckled, slipping an arm around Hwoarang's waist. "Not hating your leader completely sounds like a good idea to me."
