Chapter Ten

Link's hair blew across his face as a cool breeze came through the window. He was fast asleep, snuggled deep into a blanket in the bed he had shared with Florice the night before.

They had made love all that day and far into the night. Nothing impeded into thier thoughts except each other, thier minds and bodies a union of lust, and love, and sex, and passion.

Florice was already awake, and just stared at him, cuddled close by his side.
"Finally!" she thought. It had taken long enough for him to realize how he felt! Sure, he'd left the Princess in the garden and had not even bothered to let her know where he'd gone..but so what, really? That wasn't important. She finally had Link..her Link!

Florice noticed his eyes moving behind the lids, and knew he would soon be awake, and so she closed her eyes and pretended to sleep. How would he react after all this? Her lips curled into a slight grin.

Link slowly woke and saw Florice next to him. By the 3 Goddesses, she was beautiful. Why had he never realized it? But Link thought of Zelda...he knew he could not tell her. He just knew now...he did love her. But he shared a bond with Florice. A deep bond he had never realized. Zelda would just have to get over him, now..

He leaned in and kissed her lips, but was surprised to hear a giggle and feel a tounge snake into his mouth. The little minx had been asleep!

"You witch! You tricked me!" laughed Link.
"Well, of course, silly! Would you expect anything less?"

She smiled at him affectionately.

"No, Florice, I wouldn't..."

They lay for a while and talked. Link realized he had to see Sahasrahla soon...Florice or no. He grumbled inwardly at all the fates for throwing this destiny upon him. Goddess, he just didn't care anymore. Why could they not see?

He and his lover rose and dressed, chattering nonstop.

"Now tell me, Link," said Florice "What in Hyrule do they feed you in that castle? You look like you haven't had a good meal in months!"

"Well, that's one thing I never liked...the castle chef seems to think that some good stew or something equally simple is nothing fit for the belly of a king. I, personally, think he is full of it."

"He my dmy dear. I'm going to get eggs. My word, what will I do with you?"

She kissed his cheek and walked out, smiling demurely at him over her shoulder. Link smiled back and sighed. Things really do change..it was truly amazing.

His glance fell on the Master Sword, and he sat down with it.

It was so beautiful...he remembered the first time he had touched it. At that moment, it was the most important thing in his life...the sword. The power to save his land. The power to..the power...

The thought stuck as his hand traced over the edge of the blade. The power..yes...the power of the Sword. It had felt so good..even the Dark Magic could not stand in his way. He'd been unstoppable..he could do anything...

Link took the sword and stared at his reflection in the polished blade..so much power...No!

Link shook his head violently.

He had to go see Sahasrahla...this was wrong. These thoughts..no. It was wrong. Power? Power? He could destroy the world with that power! This power that would allow him to do anything...he sheathed the sword, and started out the door.

Link knew he was falling. In his heart and his soul, he did. He was simply too proud to have truly accepted the fact. A dark cloud appeared over Hyrule, and it began to rain, even as Link went on thinking it woull bll be ok in the end...

This one started kind of slow...I was just getting back to it. I'm writing you two chapters to make up for that. Reviews, as always, are welcome!
