Maya Brooks

The clone of Commander Shepard sat on the Citadel platform that Garrus originally had his shooting match with the Commander on. He stared out deep in thought, drinking a beer, smoking a cigarette and sitting on a lawn chair as thoughts of his one true lost love, Maya Brooks filled his head. She had left the world without him when they were supposed to one day leave the world together. Even though she left him to die, he understood her decision she made at the time and forgave her for it. Happy thoughts filled the murderous, broken Clone's mind, reminding him of why he acted the way he did.

The days they met, made love, plotted, and shared genuine life experiences. Thoughts of what kept him going through the day.

He remembered how she was the first person he had ever layed his eyes on. She had spent nights and countless hours with him in his holding chamber, showing him love and friendship, while all of the other Cerberus scientists just saw him as a source of spare parts. After the true Commander Shepard was proven to be fully functional, the Clone was put into a deep stasis in case Shepard went rogue, which he eventually did after the Collector Base attack. However they were too late in retrieving the clone, for Maya Brooks had broken him out of his captivity, giving him his first kiss as they embraced for the first time outside of his stasis pod. They went back to her hideout and finally relieved their built up tension that had been brewing for weeks.

The two had a wonderful connection, not just sexually, but personally. She was the only organic being he met that he felt he could truly connect with. He also thought about how they had plans to ride off into the sunset with the Normandy, pursuing adventures, fame, glory and the opportunity to grow old with eachother. Something that was now never going to happen. Everything was as planned until the real Shepard boarded the stolen Normandy and took it back, causing the Clone and Maya's dreams to slip from their fingertips.

One last thought of the memory that truly broke the clone came swirling back to him. A memory he kept hidden away that would bring true mental torment upon him anytime he thought about it. So much so that he walked to the edge of thousand foot high platform, contemplating jumping off as the memory swirled in his head. After receiving his reconstructive surgery, the Clone had immediately returned to his and Maya's apartment and looked through their old things and searching for keepsakes to remember her by. He eventually found a vid that Maya created and had planned on giving to him right after they stole the Normandy. He played the vid and it showed Maya staring at the camera for one second then speaking. She was dressed in the clothes she wore the day they were to hijack the Normandy.

“Hi Shepard, my love!” she said gleefully waving at the screen. “I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you after today, once we get the Normandy!” She took a deep breathe “I wanted to tell you this right now so it could be a special surprise when you watch this. I don't want to tell you as I film this because I don't want to ruin the plan we worked so hard on for months. But anyway-”

As this thought hit his mind he knew what would happen next, causing him to lean over the edge of the platform, allowing gravity to decide whether or not he should live. His vision blacked out as he remembered.

His mind returned to the memory of Maya's video. She took a deep breathe and gently rubbed her stomach. “Shepard.....I'm pregnant with your baby.”

Shepard began to tear up as he remembered the thoughts of him crying from happiness then crying from anguish as he quickly realized that the two were no more. Rage filled his soul as he remembered reading her death report. He remembered that she had been shot in the back, running away from the murderous Normandy crew. They not only killed the love of his life, but also his unborn child. From that moment he swore to exact vengeance on all of them, giving them no mercy. He cared for nothing else in the world. He was created to be used for spare parts, an item, and nothing else. And with the only things he cared for gone, he had no cares about who he hurt or if he died in the process, he was on a crash course, and either way it was gonna end with a bang.

With rage and hatred flowing back through his Reaper enhanced body, Shepard regained his consciousness. He was now hanging on the ledge by one hand, dangling above the fatal drop. He then decided to pick himself up. His eyes had synthetic enhancements after his surgery, causing them to go from his regular eye color to an evil bright red that would be reflective of his anger and hatred from then on.

He stormed over to his shuttle. Then in a fit of rage, using his biotics, he caught a random shuttle taxi that was flying by and threw it with all his might into another passing shuttle causing the two to explode in an enormous blast. He had not noticed what he had done as he clenched his fist storming over to his shuttle.

“I'm gonna destroy the Normandy Crew.” he reassured himself. He opened his shuttle door and looked back at the flaming shuttles as they fell down into the Presidium lake “Then........” he said as he looked up above the Citadel, seeing the only Reaper that Shepard kept stationed around the Citadel. “The Reapers will be mine......”
