She go to lab but she lost in way then she meet with Professor Rowan. Rowan take Dawn in lab from where she take Piplup. Ash arrive in Sinnoh and then Team Rocket arrive their and attack on Ash, Ash blast Team Rocket but his Pikachu is lost. Pikachu is found by Dawn, she take her to PC. Ash meet with Brock and he capture a Skitty which want to come with Ash, he find his Pikachu is in PC with a girl Dawn by Rowan, he ran towards their with Brock, in way he meet Paul his first rival of Sinnoh. He hear voice of Pikachu and ran toward him, he see Team Rocket capture Pikachu, them he jump in the Robot, crash him and take Pikachu. Dawn said she want to come with Ash, because she see Ash and fell in love at first side, but she not tell Ash on the first meeting. Ash agree and they headed to Jubilife City where Paul meet again and challange to battle. Paul send Skitty, Ash send also Skitty but Paul Skitty is win. Ash send Aipom Paul send Chimchar but Aipom is easily take down Chimchar. Paul send Elekid against Ash Pikachu, he try many attack and he nearly to win then Ash laugh.

Nando said he both participate in Gym Battles and Pokemon Contest and he said goodbye and go his way.

Ash and co. go towards Jubilife City where Ash see a Turtwig which is leader of Wild Pokemon, Turtwig feel Ash is special, then he want to come with him, Ash join a new friend Turtwig. Brock also catch a new friend Croagunk. Still on their way to Jubilife City, Ash and his friends saw a Buneary. Dawn decides to catch the Buneary. After some trial and chaos, Dawn finally captures a Buneary for her team. Buneary has a big crush on Ash's Pikachu. Ash, Dawn, Jessie, and Zoey all successfully make it past the first round. But Ash loses to Zoey in the second round and then, Dawn loses to Zoey in the semifinals. Jessie goes to the final round and loses to Zoey there. Dawn then get upset and tells her mother, who only tells her she should talk to her friends and not her all the time, so Dawn agrees. However, the Rock-type Gym Leader, Roark has a match already scheduled, and the opponent is Paul. Paul faces Roark's Geodude, Onix, and Cranidos with Azumarill, Chimchar, and Elekid. Paul wins the Coal Badge using methods Ash does not like Paul how treat with his Pokemon, but before he leaves, Ash challenges Roark to a battle. Battle start Dawn dress herself in cheerleader dress for cheer Ash. Roark choose Onix and Ash choose Pikachu, Onix use Slam Pikachu dodge it, Onix use Screech again Pikachu dodge. Pikachu used Iron Tail and Onix knock out. Roark send Geodude Ash send Aipom by calling Pikachu, Geodude uses Seismic Toss and Rollout on Aipom, but it dodges the Rollout. Aipom uses Focus Punch and knocks Geodude out. Roark send Rampardos, Ash again change Aipom by Turtwig, Rampardos use Flamethrower and Head Smash, Turtwig easily dodge it and ran towards Rampardos, Rampardos use Zen Headbutt but Turtwig jump and use super Leaf Blade and Rampardos knock out, Ash win Coal Badge, After this Dawn go to change her dress, she see a cute Pachirisu, then she catch it. Ash and friend meet Hunter J who steal Pokemon and sell them in high price, but her all Pokemon escape when she accidentally catch Ash Pikachu, Pikachu use Thunderbolt and free all Pokemon, Ash reach their with Jenny and take his Pikachu and capture J Henchman, J escape from their. Ash and co. continue his journey towards Floaroma Town.

Ash and his friends receive a request from a young woman named Teresa whowants to borrow Ash's Pikachu. She's in trouble because her Aunt Abigail's Pikachu(named Sugar), who helped make cakes in her cake store, suddenly disappeared. When the time runs out, Dawn is left with the most points and she wins her first Contest Ribbon.
