"Oh she should be here any minute!" Minkutei sang to herself as she sat on the docks, her feet dangling off the edge. Her eyes were wide as she watched the horizon for the next ship to come in. "I can't wait! I'm going to get my very own cyndaquil!" She cheered.
An anouncement came onto the local Holo Caster channel. "Attention, a ship coming in from New Bark Town, Johto is arriving soon. Please clear the deck to allow for the oncoming foot traffic." The Holo Caster went blank.

Minkutei was bursting with joy, her first pokemon, a cyndaquil, was coming to her straight from Johto. Her face held a smile that stretched ear to ear, her eyes darted to different points on the horizon until she saw it, a moderately large ship was coming through, breaking the waves that stood before it. Minkutei stood up, she ran to the end of the dock, eager to meet the trainer who was bringing her her starter.

The ship docked, was tied down, and the bridge came forth connecting the ship to the dock to allow the passangers easy venture off. Minkutei watched as people of all kinds came down, some young and old, some carrying their pokemon while the others kept them in their pokeballs. Finally, she saw her. A girl in a black hoodie stepping down the bridge onto the dock, holding in her hands not a cyndaquil, but an egg, in a rather odd container.
"Oh! Hello there! Would you mind helping me out a bit?" The mystery girl asked.
"Oh, uhm, sure! What do you need?"
"I'm looking for a girl named... 'Minkutei'. I have a pokemon to deliver to her from Professor Elm."
"I-I'm Minkutei!" she said, shyly.
"Well! It's nice to meet you Minkutei! And it's great that I can finally deliver your cyndaquil!" The girl said gleefully.
Thank you for delivering it!" Minkutei told her, smiling.
"No problem! Just be sure to take care of the little fella." The girl replied joyfully, as she turned to join the flock of passengers going back onto the ship.

Minkutei stood and admired the egg she held before her, studying the markings.
"Well, let's get you to your new home!" She said to the egg as she walked over to the railway headed to upper Coumarine City.
When the train reached it's destination, Minkutei stepped off and took great care in protecting the egg. She hummed cheerfully as she made her way home..

Minkutei sat by the fire place, watching the egg, which was wrapped up in several blankets.
She smiled. "you'll hatch into a gorgeous baby cyndaquil!" Minkutei talked to the egg.
Suddenly, the egg began to bounce. Minkutei's eyes widened as she watched cracks begin to form around it. "It's hatching!" Minkutei yelled as the egg began to shatter.
Minkutei sat in awe, her mouth big with a smile as the baby cyndaquil broke it's way out of the egg. Finally, the baby pokemon broke it's way out, it sat on the floor, remains of the egg shell around it. It looked around, and looked right up at Minkutei.
"Quil!" It shouted before running up to her and grabbing hold of her tightly.
Minkutei was filled with joy. Her heart was pounding and her stomach was filled with butterflies. Her heart warmed with love for the baby pokemon that held onto her. She lowered her arms around the little one's back and held it close to her.

The baby cyndaquil looked up at her and smiled, before turning around to look at the roaring fire in the fireplace.
"QUIL!" It shouted as it let go of her and ran into the fire.
Suddenly, without warning cyndaquil's back blazed with fire as it began to cough. cyndaquil spit out a large wad of fire onto the bricks that laid outside of the fireplace. Minkutei watched as he went back to playing.
She watched as the cyndaquil ran around in the fire, kicking up soot and ash in his trail. He turned back to Minkutei and ran off for her, he ran up to her and rubbed up next to her, she reached down and pet the back of his head. "Hmm, you're not that hot after being in the fire for so long." As she pet the back of his head. "C'mon, let's get to bed! It's getting late an you're going to need some sleep!"
The baby cyndaquil looked up at Minkutei, and then curled up next to her and began to sleep. She held it in her arms and held it close to her heart. "Don't worry cyndaquil, I'll always keep you safe." She whispered to it as it's breathing slowed as it fell asleep. She said, holding it close to her. "I love you."

"I can't believe you're already a quilava! It feels like just yesterday I held you in my arms for the first time.." Minkutei said as she walked along side of her pokemon.
"Quilava!" It said back in return.
The sun was beggining to set, and the quilava kept the area lit with the fire on his back.

The two walked side by side down the narrow path to the nearest clearing in the woods, a place where they had spent many of nights before watching the stars in the sky, as little pokemon scuttled through the bushes. On their way however, a slight rustle came from the bush next to them.
She reached out to spread the leaves, when suddenly, a fearow flew out, it's beak coming in contact with Minkutei's face.
Minkutei screamed as she fell to the ground, the large bird on top of her, scratching at her shirt and pecking at her face.

Without hesitation, her quilava lunged out at the wild pokemon with his newly learned flame charge, burning the feathers on it's body. Without needing instruction from Minkutei, her pokemon attacked the fearow, protecting her at all cost, and with his size, the fearow was no match for him. He attacked, biting at it's wings and neck.
Finally, the fearow broke it's way out of his jaw, and hopped over on it's good foot, before attempting to take flight. As it jumped into the air, the quilava shot embers towards it, ensuring the wild pokemon wouldn't return.

Minkutei, who was on her hands in knees, began to crawl over to her pokemon, but on her way, she noticed him stand still. She watched as he began to glow.
"Y-you're evolving! She exclaimed as his body began to glow with a bright, white light. She watched in awe as he grew in size, lifting up from his front feet and standing straight up.
The light faded, all remaining was the light glow of the flame on his back. The pokemon turned back to Minkutei. He rushed over and grabbed hold of her, picking her up in his arms.
"You've finally evolved!" She said happily, as he held her in his arms.
"Phlosion!" He replied solemnly. As he picked her up and carried her towards the town.

They wouldn't map it before it was dark and they both knew that. The typhlosion carried her towards the nearest cave. He sat down and noticed she was shivering. Fire burst from his back and his body warmed enough to keep her less cold.

He looked at the cuts on her body and growled. Suddenly he leaned in, and licked the wounds on her face clean, as he had down before in the past.

Minkutei blushed, and she held onto him as he carried her to the entrance of a cave.

he's grown so much, Minkutei thought, as she stared up at him.

He continued to lick, ensuring that each of her wounds were clean and easy to heal. He followed them down her face, as he reached her neck, Minkutei squealed.

Typhlosion laughed a bit, before continuing, this time slower and more gentle as to not hurt his trainer. He had finished licking her neck, and saw as there were cuts in her shirt, it had almost been practically torn to shreds. He saw the gashes in her skin, and he tried to stick his head through her shirt to get to them. Minkutei gasped.
"Don't do that" She yelled, looking up at Typhlosion's confused face. Minkutei looked down at her shirt, and saw the damage that was done to it, the tears in it, and the cuts in her skin. "Oh, I see now..." Minkutei said. We're going to wait until I go to the clinic." She told him, looking up into his eyes. She could see the worry in his eyes, the look of wanting to heal her, and keep her safe for the years of keeping him safe.
"Oh.. Oh alright. No one else is going to be here anyway." Told him as she sat herself up, grabbing hold of the bottom of her shirt and pulling it over her head. She looked down at her body, and saw the gashes in it, and saw how her bra had fallen off with her shirt. ugh, that bird tore up my bra too, minkutei thought. She sighed and then fell back into his lap.
