My Perfect Student

Kel’thuzad magicked the limp, dead body of the animal before them. It rose to animation... eerily.

“Now do you see, Helcular? Do you doubt the power?”He smiled at Helcular over his shoulder. “I control life! And death...” Helcular gaped in amazement as the small creature fell dead once more, its wide eyes glazed over.

A cool breeze played in the air, blowing the leaves of green trees in the gently.

“It’s amazing, isn’t it?” Kel’thuzad said as he turned to his apprentice.

Helcular couldn’t believe his eyes... he’d only heard about necromancy up until this point, never actually witnessed it for himself.

“It is... unbelieveable,” he finally managed, somehow at a loss to find the words.

Kel’thuzad laughed. “That’s just it, Helcular,” he smiled at him. “It’s not unbelievable! Here you see it right here before your very eyes!”

Helcular stared at the dead animal, still now in the place it had been briefly reanimated.

“And yet... the phenomenon is hard to believe,”

“You’ve witnessed it, it shouldn’t be hard to believe any longer.”

He turned and continued to walk down the path. Helcular followed, stepping over the dead animal.

“You must teach me this, Kel’thuzad... I simply must know how to do this... this necromancy.”

Kel’thuzad smiled at him. “Again, Helcular, it will all be revealed in time.”

Helcular frowned. The techniques of this magic... he was impatient to learn. The pair kept walking, eventually arriving at Helcular’s home, a modest cabin. He opened the door and the pair went inside, safe at last from the prying eyes of those who condemned their practices. Helcular shut the door, then put his hand on Kel’thuzad’s wrist, turning him around to face him.

He looked at Kel’thuzad, smiling, “How long must I wait? I am anxious to learn of these spells...” Kel’thuzad looked at Helcular’s face, noticing the eagerness in him. When he didn’t release his wrist, he placed his hand atop it.

“So keen, my student,” he said with a pleased look on his face, despite Helcular’s abruptness.

“Aye, I am, knowledgeable one.” Helcular hoped to appease Kel’thuzad with this respectful title.

Kel’thuzad gazed at him, unblinking, his hand still upon Helcular’s wrist. He seemed to be studying his face. Helcular gazed back. Kel’thuzad wore a placid expression, charisma always projected in kind to his followers.

After some time he finally spoke. “Such an eager, knowledgeable mind you have, Helcular, the art of necromancy will befit you well. Our master would be very pleased.” Kel’thuzad gazed proudly at Helcular, and with the mention of the Lich King, placed his hand on his face, cupping his cheek like a father would a child. “You will make a wonderful servant for him, I can tell...”

Helcular felt buoyed. He didn’t know a great deal about the Lich King, only that to be in his service granted great things. The cult preached his ways, Kel’thuzad being the leader, and Helcular felt himself swell with pleasure at the mention that he was in good stead to be favoured by the Lich King. Also the fact that he’d impressed Kel’thuzad, a sorcerer of immense power, held him in high regard also made his spirits soar. He had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, as did Kel’thuzad... and together they would practice this strange new magic, and one day excel together in the service of the Lich King...

Helcular was overcome with reverence for Kel’thuzad at that point. He covered Kel’thuzad’s hand on his cheek with his own.

Kel’thuzad stroked his cheek gently, Helcular’s grey beard beneath his fingers. Helcular’s eyes slipped shut. It felt so nice to be caressed.

“Fear not, Helcular,” he whispered, as he walked Helcular to his bed. “I will teach you everything,”

Helcular opened his eyes, watching Kel’thuzad.

“Sit upon it,”

As he sat down on the bed, Kel’thuzad smiled at him.

“So obedient,” he mused.

Helcular looked up at him, expectation on his face, but for what he wasn’t sure.

Kel’thuzad placed his hands on Helcular’s broad shoulders.

“The Lich King can give us powers eternal... immortality,”

He gently rubbed Helcular’s shoulders.

“All we have to do is serve him, and he will reward us greatly. Is there any greater prize than this? There is not...”

He smiled at Helcular, his brown eyes soft and affectionate.

“And you will be perfect for him.”

Helcular sighed as Kel’thuzad placed his hand on his head, stroking his hair.

“Tell me, Helcular,” he said after a moment. “What would you do for powers great and as everlasting as those promised by the master?”

Helcular was face to face with Kel’thuzad’s robes. He absorbed their scent, the gentle caress of the former Kirin Tor mage in his hair relaxing him totally.

“Anything,” he said. Kel’thuzad’s hands felt soft, as those of magic wielders usually were. Kel’thuzad placed his fingers under Helcular’s chin, raising his face to look at his own.

“Very good, Helcular,” he smiled, “you are going to go far, so far.”

“I would do anything desired of me, my lord,” he said honestly.

Kel’thuzad’s eyes glimmered.

He gestured to the bed.

“Lie upon it.”

Helcular raised himself himself and reclined upon the bed, his eyes never leaving Kel’thuzad’s. He sighed as he rested his head against his pillow.

Kel’thuzad got onto the bed with him. He lay down beside Helcular, propping himself up with his elbow so as to maintain eye contact with his student.

“Truly, I mean what I say about you,” he said softly after a moment, “I can feel it,” he placed his hand on Helcular’s chest, feeling the softness of the robes he wore.

“I know you will do well and...” He raised his hand to Helcular’s cheek once more. “You’re so handsome...”

A blush spread across Helcular’s cheeks as Kel’thuzad brought his lips to his. He closed his eyes. His mind was racing, thoughts of the power he was going to be afforded with intoxicating him... and Kel’thuzad was kissing him. He wasn’t altogether sure if he should be allowing it, but he didn’t stop him. Instead he covered Kel’thuzad’s hand with his once more. Kel’thuzad kissed him softly, his lips moistening as Helcular kissed him back. After awhile Kel’thuzad opened his mouth into the kiss, and Helcular felt his tongue stroke his lips. He opened his mouth in response and his tongue found Kel’thuzad’s. Without breaking the kiss, he felt Kel’thuzad’s hand leave his cheek and trail downward. It ran down his chest slowly, touching him all over. It continued to move further over Helcular’s body. He felt his robes being risen up over his legs. Then he felt Kel’thuzad’s hand upon him once more. He started, and as he felt it he let out a gasp. Kel’thuzad broke their kiss, and raised his head to look at his student, noticing the inviting blush spread across his face.

He smiled at him. Helcular had a surprised look on his face but Kel’thuzad could see desire in his eyes.

“So eager,” he mumbled as he began to stroke him. Kel’thuzad didn’t take his eyes off Helcular’s face for more than a second throughout; observing his expression with great enjoyment.

Every now and then his closed eyes would squeeze shut tighter, or his teeth would bare and a hiss would escape his lips. He felt the form beneath him tremble, then as Kel’thuzad quickened his pace towards the end, Helcular let out a loud, shameless series of moans. Kel’thuzad looked down at his student with satisfaction.

Helcular, after some time, opened his eyes and looked at Kel’thuzad, who smiled at him again.

Finally, Helcular managed, “When will you begin to teach me of the necromancy magic?”

“Like I’ve said, in due time, Helcular, in due time.”
