Dying Eyes
The light in your eyes growing dim, dark, dying
Your golden hair fluttering as you fall
Red blood spurting from deep cracks in your armor
Blending with it's crimson color
Our eyes lock for a second, a piercing stare
Time slows
Wide eyed silent shock; my countenance
Concentration on yours
Raising up your arm you make one last upward thrust
Skewering the bastard in a blaze of green
Bringing him down with you into the dark abyss
Your last words echo from the blackness,
"Keep fighting, X!"
I tear my eyes from your grim ending
Tears, disbelief, I trudge on
