Zirconia: Don't flame me please, I know this fic probably sucks. One of my friends wanted me to make a fan fiction that wasn’t morbid and one that had characters with good pasts. The girls in this fan fiction are orphans but they can’t really remember their parents so it isn’t that upsetting for people when they read it. For once it’s not a horror/scary-ish/morbid story like I usually write but there is a morbid character in it. Oh, and Claudette’s nickname for Esmeralda is Esme AND NO it’s not a Twilight reference. Geeze. Marius was based off of Marius from Queen of the Damned (my favorite Vampire Movie ever =D) He’s pretty much like him but he has short black hair and looks creepier and he’s darker and way more of a loner. Anyway, this was based off a dream I had, I just made it into a Warcraft fanfic cause it wouldn’t fit with Transformers or Predator. I told a good friend about it and we both rped it to write it out. Ok! So, here we go! My first attempt at a longish fan fiction that isn’t freaky!

-If you see a mistake or something that doesn’t sound right, don’t be mean about it. No flames please!!!

It was overly bright and sunny, Esmeralda preferred cloudy days but she couldn’t bring herself to complain as she left the Priest that was training her. Her friend Claudette would be a good while in her said class so until her best friend was done for the day, Esmeralda would roam around the parts of Silvermoon that she hadn’t been to yet. She would explore Murder Row today out of curiosity since she had discovered quite a few tower-like places that had been build recently over top of old chambers where most of the trainers would stay.
“Oh, look who it is!” Esmeralda heard a voice say. She turned to see the group of rogues that acted like they owned the place.
Shakina was the leader of the small group. She had long blonde hair and mean glowing green eyes. She had a tattoo of two black feathered wings on her back, which she proudly showed off by wearing tight shirts that wouldn’t cover it.
The other three rogues were Kitoko and Maisha.
Just like Shakina, they had long blonde hair. Maisha always wore hers up in two low pigtails while her sister Kitoko only pulled her bangs back with one elegant hair clip.
Esmeralda, unlike most of the blood elves her age, had auburn colored hair and would wear it tied up in a fancy bun. She always wore long elegant robes that resembled a Japanese kimono. She didn’t like to show a lot of skin like the rogues did.
“Esmeralda, I know you’re an orphan like the rest of us but why don’t you stay off the streets? No one wants to see your ugly face when it’s pretty outside.”
“Eh, speak for yourself. This high school drama crap needs to stop. It's getting annoying and rediculous.” Her come back wasn’t good enough for the rogues that followed her. Shakina was absolutely gorgeous and she knew it, which was the problem.
The priest ignored the three girls following her and eventually they grew annoyed so left her alone.
“Esme!”
Esmeralda jumped and turned to see Claudette randomly behind her, “I swear, you should’ve been a rogue.”
Claudette smiled at her friend. Claudette was beautiful and gorgeous. She had tanned skin and light brown hair that was really curly. She always wore her hair up in different ponytail styles.
Like Esmeralda, Claudette wore the kimono type robes but hers were not as thick.
“So! Esme, spend the night with me! I have nothing else to do.”
Esmeralda had been considering moving in with Claudette since she never stayed at her own home. She was always at her friend’s.
“I need advice on this love thing I’m in, Esme. I don‘t know what to do, really.”

Just before dark they were sitting Claudette’s sitting room. Here was where the two would hang out and talk, tell stories, draw in their drawing books, practice magic, etc. On their bean bag like chairs that had more than plenty of elegant pillows for them to flop on and cuddle into when time to sleep if the bed didn’t want to be used. All in one corner section of the room were the pillows and beanbags to sit and sleep on, in the middle they would have a space cleared for a lantern or two with their books and sometimes snacks on a plate with some type of juice to drink beside it.
Candles inside fancy lanterns lit up the room from their places on the walls, making everything seem to glitter.
“So, Claudette. Spill the beans, would ya?” Esmeralda smiled as she flopped down onto their comfortable area.
Claudette seemed to blush for a few moments when she spoke of the blood elf that asked her to go out with him.
“He’s really sweet and he’s a real gentleman. He’s older so he’s more mature.”
“Who is it?” She asked her love struck friend, “He sounds wonderful.”
“Well, that’s the problem.” Claudette poked her fingers together in a nervous habit, “His name is Ivan.”
“The rogue trainer!?” She almost screamed.
“Uh huh.”
“The one Shakina used to date?!’
“Yes…”
That would create a problem. Shakina would probably kill her if she found out Claudette dated her ex!
Esmeralda made a face while she thought for a second about her friend’s situation. This would be a hard one to go through with, “Well, let’s see. He’s nice and mature. You said he wanted to date you. He can protect you, no problem. Ok, cons. Shakina will murder you in cold blood and leave you poisoned and dying in an alley somewhere if she finds out.”
A look of determination crossed her friends face, “I’ll go for it. If Shakina hurts me for it, then oh well. Her drama is getting old. She needs a reality check, something to wake her mature side up.”
Esmeralda smiled at her friend as she bit into one of the fruit cookies they were snacking on.
“What about you, Esme? You’ve never dated anyone, either.”
“Well,” she thought for a second, “I just haven’t met anyone, yet.”
The conversation dropped after that and the two began to talk of the past and the events that had happened earlier that day. Eventually, the two priests fell asleep in their nest of silky pillows and bean bags.

The next day Claudette had agreed to meet Ivan while Esmeralda went to explore the newer towers that had been built.
Her trainer Lanna was in the very last one. She came to find out that her home and office-like area was in one of the rooms in the old underground chambers the newer structures were built over. Upon finding out about the old underground chambers, Esmeralda became curious and wanted to explore the area.
Lanna had no problem with it and apparently nobody else did either.

“Um, Ivan?”
“Yes?”
“About Shakina…”
Ivan turned to look at the priest before him, “What did she do to you?”
Claudette shook her head, “Nothing yet but I’m sort of afraid of what she might do.”
Ivan sighed, pushing his long black ponytail behind him before sitting as if he were in deep thought.
He had clearly explained that he did not love Shakina and was looking for someone to spend the rest of his life with. Personally, Shakina with the whole dramatic prep act was just to much like taking care of a child. When he met Claudette, something seemed to automatically led him to get to know her.
He truly cared for Claudette but what would Shakina try to do to her if she found out?
“I promise to protect you, love.” He placed a gentle hand against her cheek, “She doesn’t seem to understand such things as this. Not yet. When she meets the right one, she will mature in how she acts. Now, would you like to grab something to eat with me?”
“Sure!”
What they didn’t see was Shakina following them, stopping them before they could leave.
“What the hell is this shit?” She caused them to turn around.
“What?”
“This shit,” She pushed Claudette, “Right here.”
Ivan pushed Claudette behind him as he stood between her and the other rogue, “You will not lay a hand on her.”
The blonde just stood there with the most evil of glares on her face. The priest wasn’t as scared as she thought she’d be but this girl did scare her.
“I thought you still loved me, Ivan.” Her hands went to her hips while she looked Ivan in the eyes, daring him to say something back to her.
Ivan couldn’t believe what he was hearing, after this girl cheated on him with three other guys at one time and started rumors about anybody and everybody, she actually thought he would still ‘love’ her?
“As a friend, I still care for you but as a lover, I’m sorry. I feel nothing for you now.”

The hallways and turns were overly easy to get lost in, Esmeralda discovered when exploring the area. It was quiet and dark, the walls made out of a fancy type of stone that seemed to sparkle in the candle light that came from the large candle holders attached to the wall.
After deciding to sit down for a few minutes, the priest sat down on some dark steps that led into a giant room from what she could tell.
“He’s in a relationship with that goody two shoes priest girl, Claudette.”
‘Oh no.’ She thought to herself, ‘That was Shakina talking. Why do I always end up running into her? Geeze...’
“How can he see anything in her? She wears to many layers of clothes and she isn’t pretty at all. She looks fake!”
Esmeralda held her tongue, not wanting to be discovered at the top of the dark stairs. She was getting ready to leave, anyway.
“Eavesdropper!” A voice said as she was roughly grabbed from behind and pushed up against a wall.
It didn’t take long for the other rogues to get to where she was.
“Stupid slut! How did you get here?”
She said nothing. She had an idea of an attack to use but that was shot down when she felt something stab in between her neck and shoulder. She screamed and managed to kick one of the rogues into the wall but a hand flew over her mouth and she heard Maisha speak, “We just want you to know how much we hate you and your ugly little friend.”
"But....why? We've never done anything to you."
She saw a dagger raise and closed her eyes. She would end up being a missing person before the day was over. Already, she could see her picture up on a wall with a bunch of others and she wasn’t looking forward to it at all.
To her surprise, the rogues were pushed a feet away from her by an invisible force.
A dark voice echoed through the hallway, “I do believe you should be treating a priest of all people better than that. After all, she may end up having your lives in her hands on the battlefield, one day.” A figure in a cloak appeared from the darkness and closer to the rogues and the priest.
“You need to mind your own business, Zombie wannabe!”
“Really? Do you really want to challenge me, girl? Because I can go ahead and tell you, it is very unwise to pick a fight with death.” He faced Esmeralda and nodded for her to follow him, which she gladly done to get away from the others.
She never understood why they hated her and her best friend so much, they had never hurt them or even spoke ill of them.
He led her to a room which she assumed was his and he shut the door once she was inside.
“You’ve been poisoned.”
“I have?”
“Sit.” He pointed to gothic styled chair that looked like something you’d see in a graveyard.
She started walking towards it to do so but stopped when she felt a pain in her neck where she had been stuck with the needle.
She must’ve made a noise for the cloaked figure turned around and took his hood off to see her clearly.
Before she fell out in the floor she saw that he was an undead with shoulder length black blue hair and glowing eyes that seemed comforting to her.
The pain seemed to spread through her body and all she could do was twitch in pain as the undead ran to her and placed a hand on her forehead to hold her still so he could examine small wound.
She tried not to scream as the pain got worse but quiet moans escaped her throat before she passed out.

A small groan escaped Esmeralda as she woke up in a dark room she didn’t recognize. She knew not to panic because she had the feeling that she was safe.
Across the room, she saw the undead that had helped her. He was quite handsome for a dead guy.
He wasn’t skinny or bony, he was quite muscular. But he was pale, pale as death with dark circles around his eyes as if he were very sickly. He looked like Death, it was the only way to describe him.
His eyes were cold and had a creepy tone to them. It was easily noticeable that he was a warlock.

He was fiddling with a staff of some sort when he looked up and saw her gazing at him.
"How do you feel?"
Esme blinked in response, not sure what to say.
"Good, shitty?"
She blinked again before he stood up with a glare and made his way to her side.
"Can you not speak?"
She blinked again but nodded as he put his pale hand on her forehead.
"Then tell me."
"I'm...ok. Thank you, sir."
The undead stood up, "Sir? My name is Marious."
"Esmeralda."
"Hm, such a beautiful name for a beautiful being." He turned and opened a door that led to another room, "Lanna, she's fine." He yelled before walking back to his chair and continued fiddling with his staff.
Not long after that a blonde haired blood elf appeared through the door wearing an elegant kimono, "Esmeralda!"
"Lanna?"
"How do you feel?"
"I- um...good, I think."
Lanna spoke but Esme heard nothing, she just looked back at the undead warlock behind her trainer.
"Now, come." Lanna helped Esmeralda up and led her to her quarters, shutting the door.
"H-how come I've never met him or even seen him before?"
Lanna looked up, "Who, Marious?" A soft sigh escaped her lips, "He tends to work on remedies, medicines and such. He never goes out. He hasn't seen the sunlight in years."
Esme cocked her head to the side, "Why not?"
"People tend to get on his nerves and...that's just how he is. He just needs a friend I guess but he just tends to ignore all life."
The younger priest nodded, silently making plans to see him the next day.
