Tale of a Fantasm Soldier
Yuko stood on the sidewalk looking at the sky; it was so very blue, not even a trace of a cloud. The sun was shining so very brightly, to the point where she had to shield her eyes with her arm.
Clad in her school uniform and bag clutched in her hand, Yuko was waiting for her bus. The sun seemed to be so bright today; it wasn't normally so. A breeze picked up and then her eyes widened as the sun vanished behind a shroud of heavy, black clouds that just so suddenly appeared from nowhere.
A crack of thunder was issued from those clouds, lighting began to brew as she lowered her arm. A sudden and heavy downpour fell; she tried to take cover under the canopy of a shop, but she couldn't move.
Her legs were locked in place; they felt so very heavy. Something was holding them there, something that she couldn't see or understand. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't move them.
Frantically, Yuko tried to get her legs to work, even going so far as to drop her bag and pull at her legs with her hands. But her legs not moving suddenly became the last thing upon her mind when, from behind her came a horrible sound. It was an unearthly bellow; something that sounded as though it belonged in some horror movie, or in the depths of some infernal pit.
The hair on the back of her neck stood on end when the sound came again, this time combined with heavy footsteps that shook the ground below her feet. Somehow, Yuko found herself capable of turning her body, to look at the source of this horrible, Hellish noise.
Her eyes went wide when she saw it; a demonic creature seemingly from the bowels of Hell. It was a massive red being, its body looked to be composed of almost pure muscle. Its maw was wide open, she could see a set of razor sharp teeth; the two on either end of its jaws were immense, they looked like that of a dog or a cat. Its hands had a set of three claws each; they looked like bone, but their edges appeared to be capable of shredding her flesh with ease. The same was on its head, only in the form of two massive horns, more impressive than any bull could ever dream to have.
But the worst part was its eyes. Oh, the eyes... so hollow and devoid of feeling, they were a solid sickly yellowish pus shade. They stared at her with indifference, but she could tell it wasn't here to have a friendly little chat with her.
It lurched toward her, gait increasing; the monster was coming ever closer to her. The whole of her body trembled, her stomach felt like it was going to tie itself into a knot.
"S-s-stay away!"
Yuko's voice came out so small and weak; it refused to go any higher. She wanted to run away but her legs was frozen once again, this time in sheer terror. She feared for her life; no, she knew that her life was about to end. She could hear her pulse in her ears, her heart pumped faster and harder.
Her terror was so great that her eyes began to shake, her ability to focus lost.
"Yuko... Yuko, do you want to die...?"
A voice called, but she was incapable of answering. The monster came closer, she tried to scream for help, but her jaw felt like it was locked in place.
"Yuko... tell me you want to live... tell me you want help..."
The voice called again. She tried to answer, but her voice couldn't come. She was terrified out of her mind, she couldn't do anything at all. The monster bellowed one final time before it charged at her, claws ready to cleave into her tender flesh.
One last time she tried to scream, but she couldn't get anything out as her world went dark.
