I do not own Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories or any of the characters, expect for my own, and I am not making any profit from this story. If you do steal anything I have written or any of my characters, prepare to suffer.
Home Sweet Home
Story Summary: When Toni returns to Liberty City after lying low for four years, he returns to work for the Leone boss, Salvatore Leone, and gets involved in the mafia again, but with Carah Jacaruso, Vinnie’s fiancée gets involved, Toni doesn’t feel as stable as he should.
Chapter Summary: Toni returns to Liberty City and is introduced to Vincenzo Cilli, Salvatore’s new Caporegime, and his fiancée, Carah Jacaruso and his new ‘home’.
Disclaimer: I do not own Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories or any of the characters, expect for Carah, and I am not making any profit from this story. If you do steal anything I have written or any of my characters, prepare to suffer.
Chapter Warnings: Spoiler alert! If you have not played Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, do not read this story. This chapter also includes swearing. As this story progresses, the rating may go up.
All characters and events in this story are fictitious, and any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or events that resemble or are in the same way in any stories or fanfictions, are purely coincidental.
Notes: OK, so this is my first GTA fanfic! I have written fafics for another video games (Tekken, Soul Calibur and Final Fantasy VII) but I borrowed my friends’ PSP and it had Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories on it and once I played it, I was hooked! So, I had to write a fanfic. Hope you enjoy! It does follow the games’ plot, but I’ve tweaked it a little with adding in my own characters.
Extra notes: Also, the full title of this story is A Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories Story – The Race of Honour Men, but it sounded silly so I shortened it to The Race of Honour Men. Hope you enjoy!
Many thanks to YouTube, Grand Theft Wiki and, of course, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories game for helping me with the actions and script and such.

Chapter 1 – Home Sweet Home
In Liberty City, a blue-and white coach drove into the lay-by of the Punk Noodles restaurant. Antonio Cipriani stepped out, his suitcase held tightly in his hand, and crossed the road. He stopped infront of a payphone outside of Tube and dialled a number. After a short conversation, he put the phone back down and flagged an oncoming taxi. He told the driver his destination and the journey started without another word.
“Ha, ha, hey, so there he is!” Salvatore Leone greeted Toni warmly as he entered the mansion,” So listen Toni, I know you did a good thing for us and I know you’ve been lying low for a long time, so I want you to take it easy for a while, huh?”
Toni watched as his boss walked over to his desk,” Vincenzo will look after you. You need some money, ask him. If you need a job, Lucky’ll take care of you. What more could a family guy ask for – even my son don’t got it that good,”
“But…Mr. Leone, I though we got history,” Toni complained in an annoyed tone as Salvatore sat down in his chair,” I mean…I’ve done a lot for this family,” He turned his head towards Vincenzo standing loyally by his boss’ side,” And now you’re expecting me to take orders from this…this..this…,” Toni thought hard of a word to describe Vincenzo without infuriating the Don, waving his hand before sighing when his mind drew a blank,”…Well, it just doesn’t seem right,”
Vincenzo angrily uncrossed his arms from his chest and Salvatore laid both his arms on his desk in a authority manner,” Toni, I know what you did for this family and no-one is more grateful than me, honestly, but the idea that you walk in here and start to question my leadership right away is…,” he turned to connect his eyes with Vincenzo, who moved closer to him, and back at Toni,”…quite frankly, out of order. Caipche?”
Toni drew another irritated sigh and threw his hands up in defence,” I understand, boss,” he said blankly, avoiding the looks from Salvatore and Vincenzo.
“So, when you need something, give Vincenzo a call down at Atlanta Quay. He’ll take care of you, won’t you Lucky?”
“Of course, boss!” Vincenzo falsely cheered and strolled back over to Toni,” Anything you say!”
“You better stick to your words, Vinnie!” a female voice jeered, occupied by the sounds of dull, high-heeled footsteps.
Toni turned around to see two women walking down the corridor that connected to Salvatore’s office. One he recognised, Maria Latore, Salvatore’s wife, but the other on her side, he didn’t. She was a blonde, with brown, black and red highlights streaked in her hair, complete with brown eyes, with light mocha-coloured skin tone, an attractive heart-shaped face with bold painted make-up, dressed in a rich purple off-the-shoulder belly top, dark denim skinny jeans and black high-heeled platinum’s. She strolled ahead, a confidently smile on her face to match her confident elegant steps, and headed straight for the equally smiling Vincenzo, who welcomed her with a passionate kiss. Vincenzo creased his eyebrows puzzlingly at Toni’s staring of the woman in his arms but Salvatore’s broke the tenseness between them.
“Ah, I forgot! Toni, you remember Maria, my wife?” He indicated his spouse on his side,” And this is Carah Jacaruso, Lucky’s fiancée,”
“How’s it going? Name’s Carah, but you can call me Cat if you really want to. I’m Vinnie’s beloved,” Carah giggled as she turned to Vincenzo and held out a pink nail-varnished hand.
Toni took Carah’s hand and shook it firmly,” Antonio Cipriani,”
“Is one of your new doggies, Sal?” Maria asked, grinning slyly at Toni and he turned sharply towards her.
“Hey-,” Toni started to protest.
“Anyway, as I was saying, you need anything, give Lucky a call down at his place in Atlanta Quay,” Salvatore interrupted and threw his other half a warning look.
“Tell you what,” said Vincenzo as he detached himself from Carah,” We can go there now,”
“Oh, is it OK if me and Mar catch a ride? We wanted to do a spot of shopping,” asked Carah sweetly, twiddling with a strand of her dyed hair.
“Anything you want sweetheart, anything you want,” Vincenzo replied, throwing an arm around Carah and leading the way out.
Maria raised an eyebrow at Toni, her sly grin still fixed on her face and followed Vincenzo and Carah out. Toni gave the Don one more inquiring look before following them out into Salvatore’s drive, missing Salvatore’s solicitous stroke of his grey moustache.
Toni followed the closely linked Vincenzo and Carah, who were whispering in eachother’s ears and laughing, with Maria slowly striding by his side, to the black four-seated car parked at the front of the drive.
“Got you a nice little place for you to stay Toni. It’s got you written all over it,” Vincenzo said with a smug smile joined by Carah’s cruel laughter before he opened the car door to let Carah slide in first and then him. Maria took the opportunity and climbed in the front seat.
“We’ll head there first,” Vincenzo retorted before he sat down next to Carah.
“You’re all heart,” Toni snapped back when Vincenzo had closed the door and got in the driver seat.
“So, where’s this place of mine?” Toni asked as he revved the engine and looked in the rear-view mirror, looking at the reflection of the still intimately packed engaged couple.
“It’s a safehouse down in Saint Mark’s,”
Toni said nothing as he pressed his foot to the petal and drove forward, down the winding lane that lead to the top of the Saint Mark’s hill.
Carah tutted,” God, you Leones always listen to this death classical Italian shit. Can’t we listen to a different station?” She whined as “Anvil Chorus” flowed from the radio.
“You heard the lady, Toni, change the station,” Vincenzo instructed superiorly, his smug smile returning again which touched on Toni’s angry nerve.
Luckily, Maria spoke up,” Don’t worry honey, I’ll do it,” and turned the dial, letting The Jackstars’ record blast from the music radio, earning Carah’s pearly-white smile.
Toni headed straight down the crossing, weaving between both sets of traffic, then turned right at the next road crossing followed by turning left at the next corner and spinning into the opening on his left.
“This is it, Toni,” said Vincenzo as all the passengers looked up at the soaring, crumpling building before them,” ‘Home sweet home’. Beautiful, ain’t she?”
Carah smiled to keep her mouth tight from bursting out laughing again as Toni rose his eyebrows in disgust;” This shit hole is suppose to be my home?”
Oops, big mistake, Carah thought worryingly.
“Oh, I think it’s very you,” Vincenzo jeered, peering at Carah for her amusement support and stifled a snort of laughter himself,” Now you’re disrespecting old Vincenzo. Now tough guy, get your ass upstairs and go put on some decent clothes. I don’t got all day, so move!” Vincenzo instructed taunting as Toni climbed out and slammed the car door behind, receiving a sharp elbow in the ribs from Carah.
Toni jogged into the apartment and changed into the Leone suit. He jogged back out and entered the car again, producing a hungry sly look from Maria.
“Now, let’s drop the girls off shopping,” Vincenzo initiated which make Carah gaze at him darkly. He shrugged, not knowing what he had done wrong.
Toni reversed the car out of the drive and joined the roads traffic again as he drove dead ahead and left just before the main street crossing. He horded the car straight ahead again and turned right when he saw the hospital. He steered towards the Punk Noodles restaurant again, into Portland View, and parked the car temporarily in the side-lane. Vincenzo exited first, allowing Carah to departure after him, and captured her lips in another passionate kiss.
“I’ll call you when I’m done, baby,” she said as she stepped onto the pavement.
“I’ll get Toni to pick you up,” Vincenzo declared against Toni, overlooking Toni’s shake of his head, and climbed back into the car,” Hey, who loves you angel?”
“You do, babe,” She smile pleasantly and turned impatiently to the closed passenger car door,” C’mon Mar, quit ogling at the new doggy!”
Maria sighed,” See ya later, Toni baby,” she said before she walked out and joined Carah on the path.
Vincenzo watched them walk off and disappear in a shop before turning to Toni,” Now, take me to my place,”
Toni pulled out and guided the car back into he crowds of bundling traffic in Chinatown, causing the side of the car to knock into another car.
“Jeezus Toni, you drive like a bitch!” Vincenzo yelled heatedly.
Toni secretly smiled at Vincenzo’s outrage and pushed the car further, banging the headlight to smash in the other car’s taillight.
“Watch the goddamn car!” Vincenzo shouted crossly again.
Toni smirked again but directed the car forward again as the lights turned green and passed Callahan Bridge and curved into Trenton. He continued on up to the lights and followed the bend of the road and stopped infront of the yellow warehouse sat along the long row of other warehouses.
“Hey, apartments cost money Toni. Just you remember who pays the bills around here. ME! Daddy Vincenzo over here, so from now on, you work for me! So I better see you back here real soon!” Vincenzo walked out of the car and slammed it behind him.
Toni said nothing as he watched his “boss” go into the yellow warehouse.
What the hell of a start to a new day.
