Jungle Fever

Mark awoke to the loud banging at his front door, drawing him to answer it, though he already knew who it was. As he swung the door open, he smiled in greeting to Ganon, having commisioned him to build something the other day.

"Hey, I finished the bridge, why don't you go check it out?" Ganon said in his reguar gruff manor. He waved and left before Mark had a chance to say anything else, Ganon was a busy man after all. Mark waved and was quick to go about doing his daily chores, he had animals to feed and crops to water after all. The young rancher smiled happily as he walked down the road to the newest bridge, he had happily had it built to find out more of the islands secrets. As he approached the smell of freshly cut wood drifted over to him, and the bridge was a lovely golden color and sturdy looking like most of Ganon's work. Mark meandered over the bridge, the sudden change to jungle startled him a bit, the humidity seeming risen in mere moments.

"So this is the northern part of the island?" He spoke to himself, though his attention was drawn away at the sound of leaves crunching under foot. Mark was shocked to see a slim tanned male, in some sort of animal skins, holding a spear and eyeing him wearily. Mark moved closer to have a better look, but the move seemed to startle the other, and he sprinted off into the bushes. Before Mark could stop himself he was chasing after him, leaves and branches slapping him as he following the small amount of the other he could see. He was relieved when they reached a clearing, and the tanned one rushed into a oddly constructed building. Mark moved a bit slower, knocking before he entered the building, not wanting to scare the other person more then necissary. The inside was warm and primal looking, furs mounted on the walls and a odd carving seated off to the side. Something was boiling over a fire pit and the male from before was standing near another, though he seemed quite a bit older then the first one.

"...strange animal. First time I see it...Wada, is that food?"

"........No...........
...........Human ............
...........Like us .............." Mark nodded, though the younger one paid little mind to him for the moment.

"... Human ...? First time I see one...
You really ... a human?" The younger one suddenly said, turning to look at Mark. He nodded quickly at the other, a bit un-nerved by his sudden interest in him.

"Good! Humans are friends! You not food. Wada told me. What your
name?", the younger ones eyes seemed to bore into him.

"I'm...Mark." the younger one smiled and looked back at the older male as he began to speak.

"I...Wada..." The older one spoke slowly and carefully to him and then nudged the young one.

"I am Shea, I never met other like us." Shea said with hints of curiousity in his voice, moving closer to inspect Mark. "Skin is pale like moon, and sun bight like sun, are you like me and wada?" He leaned close and Wada grumbled something at him, causing Shea to pull back and blush lightly.

"Oh. Mark. You be friends with me. Okay? Visit lots, Mark" Shea smiled and Mark took this as his hint it was time to leave. Waving at his new aquantances and closed the door firmly behind him, his mind drifted over thoughts of how today had turned out quite well so far. He met new people on the island, and even made a new friend, Shea seemed very nice. Mark knew he was going to set about putting visiting Shea as part of his routine, Shea was so hopeful he'd visit, Mark couldn't let the boy down.
