Mitochondria Adam

I had thought my fight was done after the incident in Nevada, in the Mojave shelter. The case on ANMCs was closed and I had begun a normal life living with Eve, much to my disappointment of Kyle, who had shown up after a year of searching for him, only to tell me that he had a family and was hiding to ensure their safety. Guess there wasn’t much harm done, other then helping me, there was only a bit of light flirting, but I smacked him away. After that we parted ways, him to see his family before hiding again, and me to return my life with Eve, who had excelled in her schooling and was being offered a chance at a scholarship to a good private school.

I would hate to see her leave, after all we went though in Neo Ark, but I couldn’t stop her from pursuing a normal life. So I’ll stand behind her in any decision she makes. Meanwhile Maeda was spreading his “Super Human” theories to more and more open ears. Though as with the wake of the events with ANMCs, incidents had been occurring with prejudice toward those who began to exhibit signs of Mitochondrial like abilities. Apparently some weren’t as good at hiding it like I am.

This latest incident though was a bit different from the rest, in which only minor injuries was caused to either party. This time things had taken a turn for the worse, and some were severely burned, like back in the Manhattan incident, though not to death of course. Because of this, I was called back to the FBI to head the case, with Eve leaving for her new school soon, I didn’t have much of anything to do in the future, and since I was worried that if left unlooked on by me the situation could escalate beyond this.

Looking over the case file, it said that the incident happened at an orphanage where some bullies were picking on a boy, the boy had developed some signs of mitochondrial powers, it was noted that it altered his appearance, making him stick out like a sore thumb. Once the bullying had started to turn cruel his Mitochondria went out of control, and took drastic measures to defend their host. It was though best that since this boy’s powers were stronger then most other people that had them that we had found, that I should help him.

Looking up from the file, I could sense my Mitochondria began to resonate, I couldn’t figure out what they were telling me, as this feeling was much different then when I faced Mitochondria Eve or when I went into Neo Ark. My thoughts were interrupted when I was informed the boy had been brought here. Heading toward the room, I could feel the resonation from my Mitochondria grow stronger, I had to keep them from getting out of hand, hoping I wouldn’t start anyone on fire. When I opened the door I saw Maeda there talking with the boy, when I looked at the boy, my Mitochondria almost went berserk with this new emotion they displayed, I found myself… in desire, ‘desire?’ I thought. ‘I… wait… does this mean my Mitochondria are having me attracted to this kid?! What the hell?! I’m no pedophile! I’m may be in my late 20’s and single but I’m not THAT desperate!’ Even with these thoughts my Mitochondria made it very clear that they were attracted to the Mitochondria of this boy. Fighting a blush, I looked at the kid again this time taking in his features, I’ll have to admit he did look much different from what I had expected, I’d assumed the transformation was minor, but it changed the coloring of his hair and eyes completely, the file had reported his eyes as blue and blonde hair, only now the eyes were a reddish crimson color, and his blonde hair now a whitish silver, apparently it had also drastically grown in length. The way his hair and bangs had grown, it reminded me of a popular game character Eve had shown me, S… ross or something, couldn’t remember.

Though it became apparent of why the bullies were on him, he was cute, almost like a girl. And that’s must’ve been the reason at first, if those bullies knew anything of either the Manhattan or Nevada incidents they may have thought of this boy as one of the creatures they herd about… how cruel, he was very much as human as they were.. yet, they were the ones doing inhumane things.

“Oh, you’re here.” Maeda noticed my presence and greeted me. “This is who we’ve told about” Maeda spoke to the boy as he gestured to me. “Umm.. hiya” I said nervously. The kid looked to me with sadness in his eyes, He wasn’t crying or had a sad look on his face, but I could see it in his eyes, along with fear, fear of himself, a fear I knew too well.
“My name is Aya, what’s yours?” “…Kami” I found it strange ‘Kami? ’ I thought ‘Some one actually named this kid Kami, as in God?’ Some how able to tell I was going over this, Maeda spoke up before it went further “Yes, Kami as in ‘spirit’ right?” ‘ah, I didn’t know it had two meanings.’ I thought to myself. Kami nodded to Maeda. “Well now that introductions are out of the way, we can begin. Aya may I speak to you in the other room for a minute?” Maeda asked “Sure.” I replied, Kami went to reading a book of some sort when enter the room next door. “Aya I’ve looked at the boy’s cells, they exhibit similar signs to yours.” Maeda spoke “They do?” “Yes, though at such a young age his powers haven’t had enough time to fully develop.” He continued “I’m thinking of referring to his cells as, “Mitochondria Adam” since they were similar to yours and Eve’s cells.” “If that supposed to be funny Maeda, I’m not laughing.” I wasn’t sure if I could be that much help other then showing the kid how to use these abilities without hurting anyone, so I wanted Maeda to get to the point of this matter. “Sorry, anyway to be more direct, Aya, I think you should start a relationship with him.” Not wanting to think he meant “that” kind of relationship I said “Oh like teach and student?” “No, I mean romantic.” Maeda said with a straight face. My expression went blank, it took most of my will to not reach out and punch him for tempting my Mitochondria’s new perverse desire. “Are you kidding? Maeda this isn’t funny at all, he’s just a kid.” “Yes, but he’s a kid with abilities that would make having a normal relationship quite difficult, think about it, if he can’t figure out how to control his Mitochondria and having someone accepting of him for having them, then this has the potential to become dangerous, I figure the best way was to have him with someone who knows the abilities better then anyone else.”

“But Maeda-” “Aya I know what you want to say but…I know you’ve had trouble as well, finding a significant other with powers and a reputation like yours is very hard” “Maeda!” “Don’t worry, it won’t mean a big wedding or anything, we can just do the marriage via legal documents, it’s quite common in Japan actually” “Maeda this isn’t Japan, its America and women can’t just be marrying teenage boys.” “Under normal circumstances yes, but that’s not the case here, you two have very unique circumstances surrounding you. As I understand Eve lost her powers after the incident, but this time we’ve found someone very similar to you. In way you’re a perfect match for one another. Also if I’m not mistaken, your Mitochondria might seek him out of their own accord.” Seeing my blush, he smiled a little “It seems they may have already.” And with that, I’m not sure how he managed it, but Maeda convinced me to go along with the plan.

And so, after crazy explanations, some signed papers, and stamps of approval, I Aya Brea was now married… to a 14 year old boy.

I had a tough time trying to thinking of a way to make it plausible that Aya (yeah I know even if its still not very plausible, its the closest I could get) would end up attracted and eventually involved with the O.C.

Would appreciate reviews, so as to help me plan the “wedding night”
