A Note To Readers:
This story contains some offensive material including: Very light Yaoi/homosexual/Slash/Bl Relationships (That will progress in level as chapters are added), some gore, and mention of lab animals, guns, Strong Language, and death. If any of these things offend you, remember you don’t have to read this.
This story is based off the Game universe of Resident Evil. The story contains almost strictly OCs (if you can find the only mentioned RE characters you get a Zombie!). This Story was a result of needing a back story on a villain for an RE RP.

A GZ/MM Project

Lewis’s POV
I couldn’t help but watch him, his presence always a distraction to work. I could just sit and watch him across the Lab all day. The way his eyebrows furrowed in concentration, or the graceful movements of his long fingers as he scribbled hasty notes. A quick flick of his head to bring his glossy black hair off his shoulder, and then his eyes focused on me. His deep blue gaze holding my own eyes, I froze.
“Lewis, would you run over to lab ‘K4’ and grab my notes from the blood analyses on Fv-64?”
His eyes softened, a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. I had been caught starring again. He turned, mid back pony tail accentuating the motion. I was incredible lucky that Lazaries took my small obsession in stride, he never said anything about my puppy like attitude.
With a quick and slightly flustered “Yes Sir!” I raced off to fetch my boss’s notes.
Fv-64 was the fruit of our labor thus far, the pride of the F-agent bonding project. 64 was a twelve pound fawn colored buck. The professor was very fond of our rabbit, often carrying the docile creature around the halls with no cage. The affection for the animal of course stemmed from its success in dodging death from testing so far. Out of the current living test subjects, he had retained the healthiest activity level and body weight.
F-agent had begun as an attempt to stabilize the more dangerous and unpredictable viral agents used in the research department. The theory was symbiotic bacteria could be created, carrying the benefits of previous projects, but with out any of the aggression or mutations often carried over. So far everything was going well, and 64 was showing very few adverse effects to treatment.
I rushed back to my hero’s side, papers clutched against my chest so I wouldn’t trip and spill them on the floor. As I jogged I hailed Professor Yoto, slowing to speak with him. “Did you figure out what was up with the gas submersion chamber?”
Jag Yoto was a tall slim man, with constantly mused blond hair. He was from the company’s central building, an electrical and mechanical engineer sent to keep this remote location running smoothly. Yoto by no means was a man you could easily forget, from eye patch and prosthetic right leg, to the leopard print splotches of brown he’d allowed his sister to put in his hair; every thing about him was unique. More importantly he knew exactly what he was doing, and always had an improvement in mind.
“Some one tampered with the gasket leading into the tank, you two where lucky that it was only a test you where running. Had it been the cotangent you might both be dead by now. Just in case you two should use gas masks from now on, well until the culprit is caught.” Yoto leaned heavily on the wall, lifting his prostatic from the floor releasing uncomfortable pressure.
Shifting my papers I continued speaking, moving out of the line of hall traffic. “ Some one was in the lab messing with it? Why?”
“You aren’t the only team working on a hybrid agent. Team C has a viable sample of their strain ready for human testing, from the sounds of it though they have only managed to give the virus electrical properties. Not exactly the goal.”
“So they tried to get us off the field…”
“Hey your projects only side effect was to turn hair white? No serious mutations, and you guys are in your fourth week of animal testing. I hear that the executives are coming down to check progress soon.”
“There are other issues; highly increased metabolism, what appears to be lack of aggression, and a keen need for company.” Yoto looked at me, one eyebrow raised at the last statement. “I think it may just be need to procreate, but the animals that survive longest are those in sight distance of other animals. We keep 64 in with another rabbit, and he’s are best specimen yet.”
With a nod, Yoto pushed off from the wall “So you have created genetic puppy love?” With a beaming smile he turned to begin his moderate limping to an unknown destination. “ Well what ever works right? Anyway keep an eye on that, and make sure to keep the door secured when your lab is not is use.”
“I will” I smiled, turning and picking up my previous rushed route back to Group F’s lab. ‘The lack of comradely behavior around here is ridicules.’ Turning down the hall I stopped briefly to change the door to active lock mode, before sliding in to deliver my trophy to Lazaries.
…………………………………………………………….
My heart was still pounding harshly in my chest, breath coming out in short panicked gasps. My hands shaking violently, making it nearly impossible to steady the delicate tools with which I was working. ‘Calm down, panicking is not going to get the anti-virus finished any sooner.’
……………………………………………………………..
“Lewis, I need the files out of Lab F2. Subject 45 is showing aggression, I think it may be a type of regression.” Lazaries was bent over the desk one arm cradling 64, the other adjusting the settings to the gas treatment chamber.
“Yes sir” I pushed off from the desk, preparing for the jog down the hall.
“And Lewis?” He spoke straightening, a serious look on his face. “Due to our recent issues with equipment, I think I’m going to run this test solo. Don’t worry about rushing to get back.”
“Sure thing, I guess. I’ll monitor from the hall when I get back.” He gave a small nod of approval to me before I turned to run my errand.
I jogged the hall to F2, moving in to retrieve the files from one of the cluttered desks. Turning to head back I paused in surprise. Several well dressed executives where wondering the halls, chatting about what ever it is the rich converse about. I tried to move as quietly as possible to not gain their attentions, but in the end was caught.
“You. Your Dr. Lazaries’s assistant, are you not?” The imposing blond spoke in a chilling monotone. “We’d like to discuss team F’s efforts, and progress.”
“Then I would Suggest Talking to Dr. Lazaries. I’m only a lab tech.”
The tall blond frowned before moving to place a hand on my shoulder. “The man seems a bit, indisposed at the moment. You will answer our questions.” It wasn’t a question, but a statement. Something akin to fear caused me a shiver, a trapped feeling washing over me.
I finally escaped the grasp of the executives two hours later, their interrogation over. ‘Lazaries, please don’t be mad.’ I thought to myself rushing through the halls. The door was in sight only a moment later, the little red light flashing that the door was locked.
I tapped in the code, only to have the door flash an angry red ‘Access denied’. I typed the code again, slowly checking for a mistake. Again I was greeted with the red flash of the locked code. Did Lazaries switch out the code? Slightly frustrated after a third try, I moved around to the plate glass window at the front of the lab.
Lazaries was typing on the computer, bio-mask in place. I knocked on the glass gaining his attention, and gestured to the door. He finished his typing, and the flick of movement caused by the lab vents closing caught my attention. I felt a knot growing in my stomach as he walked briskly to the glass, scribbling on a clip board as he moved. He flipped the board to face me.
Lewis, the contaminate leaked. Sealed the lab, you need to secure the door. You know the Hazard code. Do not get help!
I starred in horror, then forcing myself to my senses ran to the door. Shacking I typed in the code that would seal the lab, feeling faint as the key pad read ‘BIO lock’. I wanted nothing more then to call for help, to get some one to save the most important person in my life. But all I could do for now was follow his directions and watch.
…………………………………………………………….
Lazarie’s POV
All I could do was stare, the computer flashing random numbers as the broken hose forced out contaminant treated gas. My mind suddenly returning I secured the mask hanging from my neck over my mouth and nose. An attempt to thwart myself from becoming infected, though I knew my cause to be pointless. My attention turned to the screen; I tried desperately to turn the machine off for a few moments. Failing I moved to the Lab computer, to begin sealing the room.
I heard a knock against the thick glass, turning to look up at the sound while I pressed enter to the command module. The room's in and out vents sealed tightly, the Lab going into isolation mode. I turned my attention fully to Lewis, standing on the other side of the glass with a sheepish smile.
I frowned, moving forward to grab a note pad as I crossed the room quickly writing out simplified instructions for the young lab tech. The Pad read-
Lewis, the contaminate leaked. Sealed the lab, you need to secure the door. You know the Hazard code. Do not get help!
Lewis’s Jade green eyes went wide, his smile dropping from his face. Replacing it was a look of terror and for a moment my heart skipped, considering he may not do as I asked. Finally eyes a bit misty he ran around the corner in his usually hurried fashion.
I sighed deeply dropping the note pad before sliding down the glass. I starred quietly at one shacking hand, clenching it when the sound of the hazard lock twisting into place reached my ears. I knew I had just told Lewis to kill me, but the boy would pull through some how. Steadying my Nerves I stood, walking over to calmly sort my notes.
“Dr, the hazard lock has been activated. You are still in the lab, do you wish me to sterilize?” The young British voice rang out from the computer. Of all the people I did not want to deal with now, the security AI was at the top of the list.
“Sure, I want you to sterilize me. Nice slow death by chemical suffocation.”
“I will assume your tone to mean this statement as a Joke. I will however begin Air filtration, the oxygen level in the room may suddenly drop.”
“I’ve done drills, do what you want.” The AI’s tended towards the side of uncompassionate, but it was their job. If I was a risk the computer would switch to clean up mode, and I would be dead in a matter of seconds.
“Dr you have come in contact with the cotangent. You are exhibiting both symptoms of the T and G cotangent in early stages of infection. Shall I neutralize you now?”
Thank you, you cocky little bi- “Not yet, wait until we confirm which one I’ve become infected with. I’m going to feed data into the system on F-agent, keep it in storage for Lewis.” Stepping to the computer I began to type, and then suddenly choking. Dropping to the floor I struggled in a few thin breaths, as the computer took her time adjusting the air flow level.
I looked up to see Lewis at the window, he seemed to be in a great deal of pain. Forcing myself to sit, I pulled off my Gas mask. It was pointless to wear it at this point anyway. Lewis was shaking his head, gesturing for me not to, not understanding what was going on. I frowned at the frightened young man, not knowing how I should proceed for his sake. Then I was struck by a brilliant ideal, recovering from the computers rude shock I put my plan in action.
I smiled a bit as he jumped in surprise at the sudden ringing of his phone. He fumbled with the small green device, before nearly shouting into the receiver. “Dr! Are you alright! What! Did something go wrong! Why is the room on lock down! Why is the computer activated! I… I… I” Big green eyes were going misty again.
“One Question at a time Lewis” I broke off to cough. “The Gas chamber had a failure, our cotangent was released. The computer is checking me for infection. Every thing is going to be ok.”
He began to stutter into the line “Yo…You’re… Infected. Oh God! Oh, Oh no! No, No, No!” He shook his head, before placing his palms on the glass. “You can’t! It won’t end like this! I won’t let them do this!”
“That Lewis is why we have not asked for help. I have no interest in becoming some idiot’s project. Lewis I will have you monitor my cognitive level, if it begins to drop drastically…”
“I Refuse! I won’t terminate you!”
“You will do as I ask. Or I will end up in a tank some were, and our project will be lost for good.” I pushed my hair back, breathing in deeply already adjusting to the odd taste of the sanitized air. Lewis stood face turning red, then he hung up the phone and nodded. He was always a very good assistant.
………….
Lab tables are awful beds, I knew this from past experience. I had opted to sleep on the floor, awaking with a start when I received a visitor. 64 lonely and seeking attention, had come over to curl up against me. It was odd, I had never really seen the value of such actions before but the actions of a rabbit had me believing other wise.
It would be day five, in only a few hours. Lewis had kept the secret of the accident in Lab F well enough over that time. In Two days the F-Agent would permanently bond to my DNA, their would be no turning back from that point on. Lewis had been working in one of the other labs, determined to make an anti-virus. To save me from the steady decline in my healthy non-bonded cells.
My mind was still sharp, my ability to think completely intact. I had been taking notes on my condition the entire time. I had found several very interesting things, which 64 being a rabbit could never tell us.
The increase in metabolism, did not effect what the subject wanted to eat. Though subjects infected with the T and G virus have shown a preference for meat, no such carnivorous tendencies where prevalent in me now. Their was a near constant hunger, but that could be controlled with candy if needed. My weight was fluctuating badly, but tests showed every thing to be healthy enough.
My hair, all of it was turning white. It would appear that the bleaching steamed from a sudden change in hormone levels, as the color change started nearer to areas on the body where Hormones are produced. I was not very found of the odd mutation, and least of all the paleness of my eyebrows. However Lewis encouraged that I did not look bad, that I was still in fact very attractive. Normally I’d have ignored such remarks, but the words seemed different to me now.
This led me to discover the underlying change, something that had been so slow to happen I had not sensed it in myself. It was a change in mind, one that was very dangerous in the fact that the infected could not feel it happening. And in the end I realized that I really didn’t care.
The deepest root of the change was a lack of fear. Fear our most base instinct, a survival basic since man began down his path to being man. It had been gently pulled from me, eroded away until the only thing left was a basic want to live. Even this was muted and when I put myself at risk in several tests, my heart was not really into it. The lack of fear linked directly into the second area of mind to be eroded. The part of the mind responsible for decision considering moral actions. I had come to lack any type of limit in my thinking, much like a sociopath. I had emotions intact; however the part of the mind that tells one ‘This is wrong do not do it’ was gone. Religious stances, society influenced beliefs, things I had come to learn were bad as a child; all no longer made any sense and thus didn’t matter.
I really was enjoying, this becoming a monster.
I continued to study myself and 64, keeping my mind occupied from the inevitable. It was day six, and I was using the remote cam to study the animal lab. The computer had accessed me as a valuable company experiment, and for the moment was quietly letting me do as I pleased with in reason.
Most of the rabbits had sadly, began to develop side effects to treatment. The road I was now traveling down, would end as theirs had in just under a month. For a moment I let the thought rule over me, feeling sad yet not very apprehensive.
It was then it occurred to me that 64 should have began to mutate with the others days ago. My gaze slowly focused on the happily munching menace. Why was 64 showing no sign of mutation or aggression?
A few quick tests were in order, including a check on his cage mate. Quit suddenly all became very clear to me. 64 had infected his cage mate, in fact he had done so almost a week prior to my discovery. Rabbits had no means of injection or gassing, and with no evident signs of bites it left one option. 64’s cage mate had been infected through the process of breeding. Excitement filled me, this could very well be the break through I and Lewis had been searching for! More test revealed that the DNA that had replaced 64s was unstable with sections missing much like a virus. By introducing the DNA of a secondary source the code had been stabilized, thus preventing mutation.
This was all good and well to know, but of little use to my current situation. A humans DNA could by no means be crossed with a rabbit. And if my hypothesis was correct I would need the unaltered DNA of an uninfected human. A human like Lewis perhaps. The ideal of taking advantage of his trust in such a way, and of the act that we would have to perform; was sick, desperate, and depraved. Of course this held no problem for me, all the things wrong with the act marked off as acceptable by my altered brain.
Then again if I wanted Lewis as a mate I needed to avoid hurting the boy. After all this was a permeate thing, and the ideal of having my mate terrified of me hurt in my heart. The feelings I had begun to have were so foreign, and most of them centered on Lewis. I’d have never considered him for some one I might have become romantically interested in before, but honestly such things did not matter at the time. It may have been animalistic instinct, but I had come to care for Lewis in a way beyond friendship.
All options must be exhausted first however, for I did not wish to involve Lewis any more then I must. And So I set my plan to action. Time to test my strength.
