A Girl's Best Friend

Note: I wrote this as an anon on a kink meme on lj, but had so much fun I felt the need to publish it. The original idea is by an anon person. Prompt was Cloud/Axel with Axel dancing. http://kokanshu.livejournal.com/52665.html?thread=1775033

A Girl's Best Friend

How had he been talked into this? Oh, that’s right, Tifa had told him in no uncertain terms that if he didn’t do something that wasn’t killing monsters, delivering items, or “emoing in your room” she was going to kick his ass, and that woman could hit. Tifa wanted him to have a hobby that wasn’t violent or depressing and definitely non-work-related.

When Reno had suggested that Cloud go see his brother’s cabaret show, Cloud had been skeptical; however, he had no say in it, as Tifa had heard Reno and told Cloud she wouldn’t let him in the house if he didn’t go to the show at least once. When a week later she had found him camping out in the old church, she had kicked his ass, dragged him home, put him in a suit, called Reno, and got him to the cabaret. That had been three months ago, now he came of his own free will.

He only stayed for the one show, Axel’s, Reno’s brother. Reno was a tall, lanky red-head with blue-green eyes and red facial tattoos from a Slum gang under his eyes. Axel was also tall and also had the gang tattoos under his eyes (triangle teardrops, rather than violent slashes), but slim, not lanky. His eyes were the most vibrant shade of green Cloud had ever seen.

The thing, though, that drew Cloud every evening to the smoke filled room with tacky little tables covered in red velvet, was Axel’s drag show. He wasn’t just a guy that dressed as a girl. In fact, Cloud had believed so fully that Axel was a woman that he went to Reno the next day and said, “I liked your sister’s act. She has real talent.”

He hadn’t got the joke for a week, as Reno had chosen to just laugh. It had been a rather embarrassed Cloud who had gone back to Reno and said, “Well, Axel has talent.”

“Yeah, I have a brother who likes to dress up, look pretty, dance, and sing. He takes it as a compliment, though, that his act really fooled you.”

The thing was, Cloud was more embarrassed by the fact that it turned him on. Axel did have talent, true, he could sing, a nice alto that didn’t sound like falsetto, and he could sway his hips, hips so beautiful they couldn’t belong to a man. Axel flaunted his beauty.

Today Axel was debuting a new show, the headliner for the evening, therefore, the last act.

“The French are glad to die for love...” the beautiful red head drag queen sang softly as he glided down from the curtained stage. He was dressed in a sparkling ball gown that left nothing, yet everything to the imagination in enticing bits of beauty. It should have clashed with his coloring, the icy blue dress with more sequences than stars in the sky, but somehow, everything stayed together. The tattoos really looked like teardrops, sparkling make-up bringing his green eyes to shine at full brightness. The red hair was down, and without gel or any other form of bounds, shimmering.

“They excite in fighting duals,” he reached the end of the stairs off the stage, the throat mike picking up every syllable. “But I prefer a man who lives and gives expensive jewels,” he had reached the center of the dance floor and grinned as the music suddenly joined in, no crescendo, a sudden wave of sound, full of drums and brass.

“A kiss on the hand may be quite continental, But diamonds are a girl’s best friend,” his hips were swaying a hypnotic rhythm, tying Cloud to their spell. It was the same every night, except tonight. Usually the words Axel sang would just wash over him as he stared in trance by ever sway, every dip, every squeeze that someone else got. Jealousy of something he would never had and never would have. “A kiss may be grand, but it won’t pay the rent On your humble flat, or help you feed your pussy cat,” Tonight, though every word sunk in. They were teasing him, seductive waves from the temptress herself.

Axel swayed and teased all of the men at the tables, many of whom didn’t even realize that she was a he. “Men grow cold as girls grow old, And we all lose our charms in the end.” He shook his bottom a bit and slid his hands down his body. Everyone was his thrall. He could have told them to all jump off of a bridge and they’d be rushing to do so. “But square-cut or pear-shaped, These rocks don’t lose their shape. Diamonds are a girl’s best friend!”

“’Cause we are living in a material world,” Axel had let the band have a few moments of glory as he just moved to the music, bring himself closer to many of the tables and giving teasing glimpses of a figure that would give Helen a run for her money. “And I am a material girl.”

As he sang that, Axel twirled around to the table with the solitary blond. Cloud Strife, the man came every night, but only for his number. He never stayed afterwards, but Axel had plans that night, he wanted to see if Cloud wanted more than just watching. Cloud was the inspiration for this whole number. He leaned his back against the table and gave a teasing flick with his fingertips along, Cloud’s chest. Reno had told him all about the blond, when Axel had asked, and the Turk proved his knowledge.

Axel was most definitely interested, but was Cloud? Axel leaned up from the table and shook his bottom a little before making his way back to the stage. The curtain had parted and as Axel ascended the stairs he sang, “There may come a time when a lass needs a lawyer But diamonds are a girl’s best friend.”

The rest of the company was on stage, all of the other performers, backing Axel up, in a curtain call that was also a headline performance. It was grand, magnificent, but everyone’s eyes were on the star, the Grand Duchess of the stage. “There may come a time when a hard-boiled employer thinks you’re...Awful nice!” He took the hand of the director and bowed. “But get that ice or else no dice!” he released the hand and sashayed away.

“He’s your guy when stocks are high But beware when they start to descend,” Axel sang as the rest of the company took their bows and began leaving the stage to mingle with the crowd. “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, Diamonds are a girl’s best, Diamonds are a girl’s best friend!”

He descended the stage again, heading towards, in a confident seductive stride, Cloud’s table, “’Cause that’s when those louses go back to their spouses! Diamonds... are a... girl’s... best...” he stopped at the table looked Cloud right in the eye and sang, “friend!” as he gave his bow.

Applause surrounded them and in the confusion, Cloud felt Axel’s gloved hand take a hold of his and drag him backstage. Axel had a rogue’s smile, two inch heels, and a coy look, that’s all it took. Cloud was putty in his hands, and Axel knew it. Cloud would give himself as a willing slave to Axel, just for a smile to call his own. It was sappy romantic nonsense, but it made every bit of sense to Cloud, who in the moment that Axel touched him for the first time felt more human than he had ever felt in his life. He could see all his flaws and couldn’t believe that this hopelessly beautiful man would actually touch him.

They were in Axel’s dressing room, full of glittering dresses, the smell of perfume and make-up, and red-hair pieces. Cloud swallowed heavily, this was unreal, surreal, he couldn’t find his voice. “You come every night, but only for me. Reno told me about you.”

“He did?” Cloud squeaked, and frowned momentarily because of it.

Axel smiled, it was incredibly cute just how flustered Cloud was. “He did,” Axel affirmed. Cloud was surprised by the fact that Axel’s voice sound nothing like his brother’s. It was soft and the pitch was higher, he had an Alto’s voice, through and through. “He told me that it took you a whole week to figure out that his ‘sister’ was really his brother. He told me that he had to force you to come the first time. He told me that he was surprised that you came again. He told me how honest and trustworthy he thinks you are. He told me not to fall in love, I told him it was too late.”

Cloud looked up at that, “How could you love me?” He was insecure and it came across in his voice. “You’re the most beautiful creature that I’ve ever laid eye on and you love me?”

“Surprise?”

Cloud set down heavily on a convenient couch, trying to process what Axel had just said. Axel approached and sat down in Cloud’s lap, wrapping his arms around Cloud’s neck, “Love me?” he all but begged.

“How can I not?” Cloud asked. “I don’t even know you, but I don’t want to be out of your presence for a moment.”

“We have plenty of time to get to know each other, you can start by taking me to dinner, tomorrow,” Axel said with a grin. “But right now, I have something else that I want, and no one ever denies me what I want.”

“What can I possibly give?” Axel’s hand slid down Cloud’s chest to his belt and began undoing the buttons.

“I think you can get a pretty good idea going,” Axel said, standing up and reaching behind him. He turned his back to Cloud and gave a shake of the sparkling hips. His hands reached the clasp of his dress, unsnapping it with a practiced eased. A shimmy had never looked so delightful. “A kiss on the hand may be quite continental,” he sang softly, seductively. Cloud couldn’t help, but to “arise” to the occasion.

He reached out and took Axel’s hand, spinning the visibly aroused red-head around. He adopted a seductive grin of his own and bent over the knuckles of Axel hand. “But diamonds are a girl’s best friend,” Cloud whispered pulling the red-head flush against him, front to front. He kept hold of the hand he had been holding and wrapped an arm around the nearly naked red-head.

For what seemed like hours they danced together, grinding themselves against one another. Swaying to music that only they could hear, though it sounded in their heads surprisingly a lot like the song that Axel had been singing that evening. Axel gave a gasp of ecstasy, giving Cloud a new favorite expression. His pants may be ruined, covered by cum on the inside and outside, but he would gladly give every pair in his wardrobe to see that expression again.

Axel tilted his head back and shut his eyes as he came with a cry of delight. When both came down from their high, Cloud pulled Axel into a kiss, wanting to savor every moment for eternity. A brief thought of Aeries laughing at him, didn’t stop him from kissing Axel as hungrily as the red-hed kissed him. Axel decided that his brother was wrong.
