Fixing
Sister giggled and looked over at Tex. Tex turned the other way, and Sister sadly looked back to the bed. Or more specifically, the plate of food she had set on it for the other.
Tex had been like this for a week, and Sister still didn’t know why. What had she done? It had been a month since she gave up flirting; what else did Tex want? Could she have at least told Sister what it was?
The only thing Sister could think of doing was asking her brother for help.
She had the sense to not walk up on Red Base. She tried to remember what Grif’s armor looked like, but couldn’t figure it out. The only way to find him was to get some help. But who could she ask? She would usually go to her girlfriend- isn’t that why she needed help in the first place? Caboose? As if she would go to him for anything. And Tucker…he would only move onto her, not help her find her brother.
Well, that left Doc or Church.
Sister peeked into the kitchen. Church was at the table, head resting in his hands. She sneaked in silently, sitting in the seat across of him.
“Church?”
He looked up, and she saw circles beneath his eyes. “What.”
She couldn’t ask him what she wanted to. Instead it came out as. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fucking fine.”
She hesitated until he asked what she wanted in a tired voice. “I need your help.”
He chuckled drily. “Sure.”
“Can you help me find my brother?”
Even Sister could tell Church was pale. “He’s at Red Base. Where he always is.”
She lowered her gaze. “He didn’t tell you, did he?”
“Tell me what?”
“I’m colorblind.”
Church sighed. “Oh.” Was all he could say.
“I can’t find him when he’s in his armor. You guys I can find, but not them.”
Church sighed again. “Fine. I’ll help you.”
He stood and mumbled. “Get your armor on.”
She did so quickly, but Church still beat her to the door. He wordlessly began to walk, and
she wondered what was wrong with him.
Church looked at Red Base. “Alright. Your brother’s on duty. There ya go. I’m going back to base.”
Sister said. “Wait a minute. You don’t wanna see him, do you?”
Church growled. “Shut up, Sister.”
Grif saw them then. “Sister! Are you okay?”
“What the hell did you do, Grif?” she yelled at him.
The orange soldier couldn’t speak. Church turned away slightly, but Sister grabbed him. “No you don’t.”
Grif made his way to the canyon floor. “What’s wrong, Sis?”
“I need your advice. But first I need you to tell me what you did to him!”
Grif whispered, obviously to Church. “I’m sorry.”
Church shouted. “Sorry? You have the nerve to say that now?”
Sister looked between them. “Oh my god.”
Grif looked at her then back at Church. He slid off his helmet, and both blues saw tears streaking down his face.
“Yes, Church, I do have the nerve. I’m sorry, so sorry.”
Church whirled on him then. “Is that… is that what you told Simmons, too?”
Grif was in shock. He looked down.
“No, it’s not Church. It’s not even fucking like that!”
“Oh? Then what is it like?”
The orange soldier muttered. “You think I cheated on you, don’t you?”
“He fucked you!”
“He got me drunk! I was practically passed out!”
Church reached for Grif. “…Passed out.”
Grif nodded tearfully. “Church, I’m so sorry…”
“Why didn’t tell me?”
“I didn’t exactly have the chance, did I? You’ve been avoiding me, goddamnit!”
Church sighed. “You have no fucking idea, do you?”
“Church?”
“You moron.” Church paused. “Will you… will you be on patrol tonight?”
Grif smiled weakly. “Yeah.”
“I’ll… I’ll see you then.” Church glanced at Sister. “She needs to talk to you.”
Church walked away somewhat happier than before. Grif watched him go before turning to Sister.
“What’s wrong?”
“It’s Tex. She won’t talk to me, won’t look at me, and I don’t know what I fucking did!” She wailed.
Grif said thoughtfully. “Did you sleep with someone else?”
“No!”
“Did you think about it?”
“Grif!”
He shrugged. “She’s jealous about something.”
“...Jealous?”
Grif nodded. “That’s probably it.”
Sister blinked. Why would Tex be jealous? Of anything?
“But-“
Grif shrugged. “She’s not my girlfriend. I don’t fucking know her that well.”
Sister smiled. “Thanks.”
“Yeah. Whatever. Get back to your base before Sarge wakes up.”
She laughed and went back to her base. Grif leaned back. He was glad they had come.
He wouldn’t be lonely tonight.
Sister walked into Blue Base to have Tucker immediately walk up to her. He started to say
something, but Sister saw Tex down the hallway behind him and walked right past.
Tex saw this is resisted a smile. No, no smiling. Sister was still in punishment.
“Tex?”
She turned away, but Sister followed her.
“Tex, baby, I’m sorry. I don’t know what I did, but god I’m sorry.” Hey, it worked for her
brother, apologizing might work for her too.
The freelancer paused. “You honestly don’t know.”
Sister cringed as Tex turned on her. Why did this seem so reminiscent of what just happened?
“Tex.” Sister said softly. “You don’t have anything to be jealous of.”
Tex glared over Sister’s head. “Get out of here, Tucker.”
Sister turned to him still standing behind them. He grumbled when Tex called him out.
“Sister?” Tex muttered.
“Yeah?”
“C’mere.”
Tex wrapped her arms around Sister. Sister held on to her, wondering why Tex was acting differently, not caring.
“It’s Tucker, isn’t it?” Sister suddenly realized. “You are jealous.”
“Do you see how much he flirts with you?! And you don’t even discourage it!”
“I don’t flirt back!” Sister insisted.
Tex smiled. A little. “Yeah. I guess that’s true.”
Sister pressed a gentle kiss against Tex’s lips.
“Bow Chicka-“
Sister heard the obvious noise of something being thrown and the resulting indignant sound of pain. She laughed against Tex’s shirt.
“Am I forgiven?”
Tex frowned, but Sister knew it was false. She smiled and whispered. “Did you eat?”
“After you left.” Tex admitted.
“I thought you would.”
Tex stepped back and opened the door to their room. “Forgiven.”
Sister grinned.
Church was back at the kitchen table, watching as the clock moved and time passed, painfully slow.

Hey out there. My first TexXSister, not to mention my first f/f. And it was my first time writing either of those characters. So please, please review?
