Hailin shook his head, ice-white hair clinging to his face from the icy water he’d just splashed onto his face, the water dripping off him into the pool he was standing in. Vaguely pink-tainted water swirled away from him as he washed the blood carefully off himself, smiling a little in contentment.
That had been a good fight. His clockwork heart was only just now starting to calm, the ticks settling back into its regular rhythm, the saronite under his skin and plating the mechanisms cooling again under his fingers.
Hailin carefully ran his fingers over the scars on his chest, exploring the tight stitching and noting where the stitches had pulled out, exposing the saronite plates that gave his torso shape. He’d have to repair those later, probably with Azhiza’s help.
His fingers found the edge of the door set into his chest, pressing down on it gently to open it. Luckily the complex runed mechanism that granted him a mockery of life hadn’t cooled fully, and he ran a finger over the runes, checking that nothing had been knocked loose – unlikely, this was made from saronite after all. Satisfied, he closed the door and stretched luxuriously, looking around him.
He was resting in Sholazar Basin, the almost-tropical climate belying how cold it actually was, the water he was hip-deep in steaming in the frigid air. Azhiza was studying some plant or other somewhere where he couldn’t accidently Blight the ground while protecting her, and he was washing off the blood of the latest thing that was stupid enough to cross his path.
Hailin glanced over to the shore and sighed at the haphazard pile of plate armor, also covered in blood and ichor, and the weapons laid out beside it. He’d have to clean them once he got out, but for now…
Now, he was going to relax. Wading out a little deeper into the pool, Hailin ducked, head going under water. He came up, shaking the excess water off him and pulling soaked hair out of his face. After days of near-solid fighting, both Scourge and the local wildlife, this was as close to heaven as he could get, right now. Well, actually if his little orc was here and sharing the pool with him it would be better…
Hailin rolled his eyes at himself and chuckled, wading back to a more shallow part of the pool and sitting down, head and shoulders above the water as he relaxed back, closing his eyes. Funny, when he thought about it. Before he died, Azhiza was a friend, nothing more. He was a Sin’Dorei, and a Paladin-in-training at that, she was an orc and a novice warlock. Even if you ignored the culture differences – of which there were a lot - the physical differences were too pronounced.
The Death Knight smiled, opening his eyes. That changed when he’d come back. They’d picked up their friendship, grown closer and finally seen past all the differences and realised there really weren’t that many.
Hailin ran his fingers down over his arms, over the faintly glowing runes he’d carved into himself, remembering Azhiza’s face when she’d caught him doing it, bloodied cloth wadded around him, his own arm and hand covered in blood and a runed knife against his skin. Heh, that had been interesting to explain. Though trying to get his notebooks back off her when she was studying them…
He sighed, running his hand absently over a shoulder and rolling it before sliding the same hand over his ribcage and across his stomach. Not quite to the same standards of Silvermoon baths or Dalaran, but…by the Sunwell did it feel good. Smiling, he trailed fingers down lower, following the trail of white hairs from his navel to his groin with a slight purr.
It had been a while since he’d been on his own and not too busy, too cold or too tired to do anything. This was a rare respite, and as he ran the pad of his thumb over his hardening cock, he was going to take advantage of it. Not likely anyone was going to walk in on him, not out here.
Hailin tipped his head back to rest on the bank, closing his eyes and letting out a light gasp as he wrapped his hand around himself, other hand spidering fingers up the inside of his thigh. He sank a little lower in the water, legs widening as he slowly stroked himself to full hardness, a shudder of pleasure running up his spine as he flicked a thumb over the head.
Silently he thanked whoever had given him the clockwork core. He doubted if Arthas had raised him as dead he’d be able to do this.
A light shiver ran through him as he moaned a little, cock almost fully hard as he moved his free hand down over his balls, making himself twitch before moving the finger lower, pressing against his entrance and dragging out a louder moan. Fragmented as his memory of his life was, he knew he enjoyed this, could remember the touch of Victor as his squire, the way the older man had felt that first time in Eversong-
Hailin arched a little as the hand stroking his cock sped up at the thought, biting his lip on a moan before he forced himself to slow, gasping, eyes blinking open before he closed them again. He’d been little more then a boy, then, almost overwhelmed by how the paladin had made him feel, sure hands over him and inside him…he moaned again as he teased the tip of a finger inside himself, squirming a little as he squeezed himself slightly, breath coming in pants as he worked the finger deeper.
This felt so…so good. All he needed was Azhiza here and…that pulled out a moan he couldn’t have stopped as he arched, finger running over his head before he squirmed down harder on his finger, trying to keep himself quiet as he shuddered and gasped.
-
Azhiza was in a good mood as she made her way back to the pool she’d left Hailin beside. She’d been looking for a particular plant and although she hadn’t found it she’d found another variety of a Durotar flower she was sure that the alchemists would find a use for.
The warlock rolled her shoulder as she walked, thinking of Hailin when she’d left him, covered in blood from his latest kill and grinning at her from underneath his helmet, one glowing blue eye creased from laughter. It had been a rhino, and he’d ended up almost severing its head with an axe, which resulted in being covered head-to-toe in gore. They’d found the first pool they could and the Death Knight had very bluntly told her he wasn’t going any further until he got the blood off.
Looked like some aspects of being a Blood Elf still stuck with him, even after death.
Azhiza chuckled to herself as she pushed a branch out of her way, the scent of water telling her she was close-
A low, drawn-out moan made her pause. That was Hailin. A million possibilities went through her mind, icy fear settling in her stomach. He’d have taken off the armor to bathe, his weapons out of reach, he’d be defenceless-
The orc picked her way to the pool, peering through the branches. She caught sight of Hailin’s white hair quickly as there was another moan, and her heart stopped when she saw his head was back, hair drifting on the water’s surface. No-
“Gods…”
Azhiza’s eyes shot back to Hailin. From where she was standing, she could see into his face, his eyes closed, shoulders just above the surface, same with his knees and-
The orc suddenly flushed, bringing a hand up to her mouth to stifle the sudden giggle, the knot of fear turning into something else entirely as she realised exactly why the Death Knight was moaning. The water was clear enough that she could see where his hands were, long, Blight-stained fingers wrapped around his cock, making himself squirm and moan, his eyes tightly shut and a faint flush to his cheeks.
Well, that explained why he hadn’t realised she was there and why the water hadn’t frozen around him yet, at any rate. Azhiza debated making a noise, just to see his face when he realised she was there – the boy was still shy, bless him – but he moaned her name then, arching into his hand.
Azhiza shivered, biting into her glove a little as she watched him, blue eyes wide as she watched Hailin squeeze his cock, obviously trying to make himself last, his other hand – what was he doing with his fingers? Whatever it was, it was making him squirm, panting, moaning her name. She swallowed heavily, smoothing down her heavy robe, green fingers tugging at her fastenings, trying to distract herself from what she was seeing but unable to take her eyes off him. From what she knew of Hailin he wasn’t far off, arching up into his hand, the moans turning into panting whines as he teased himself mercilessly.
“Gods, Hailin…” Azhiza leant against the tree she was half-hiding behind, eyes fixed on his face, watching as his breathing hitched, wanting to be there, tongue and tusks at his throat, body pressed closed to his, feeling the muscles shift below the skin, hearing him gasp her name as he finally came-
She let out a light moan as Hailin suddenly jack-knifed, coming with a cry into the water, his body shaking and head arched back before settling bonelessly back, eyes half-lidded and looking in her direction but obviously not seeing her. He winced briefly as he pulled his hands away from himself, but Azhiza barely noticed as her suddenly clumsy fingers struggled with the clasps of her robe, quickly pulling it off and tugging at her underclothes, goosebumps raising on the bared skin as she finally stripped, clothes left in a haphazard pile on the bank.
