Starting Over

Chapter 1 - New Home

The sun was starting to set as a small car made it’s way on the road from Destiny Islands toward the next town. Its occupants were all hoping to get out of the car soon.
“Cloud, could you be a dear and help me with this map?” asked Oniyata Strife to her 17 year old son.
“Why? Can’t you just turn around and take us back?” he asked as he sunk lower into the passenger seat.
“Cloud please…this is hard for all of us, but I need you to help Roxas and Sora. Your father and I thought it was best if I took you boys.” She said as her face showed her weariness.
“But why separate at all? I mean… you loved each other.” Cloud stated looking at his mom where he saw a flash of hurt in her eyes.
“That’s just it Cloud. Loved. Your father doesn’t love me anymore but he still cares for you boys. You’ll still be able to see him during the holidays.” She said softly looking into the mesmerizing blue eyes of her son. All three of her sons had their father’s blue eyes. Cloud and Roxas had inherited their father’s spiky blonde hair while Sora had inherited his mother’s cinnamon brown hair in the similar spikes. Cloud sighed and then took the map. “It won’t be the same,” he mumbled to himself. “Take the next right.” he said aloud.
“We’re almost there son. You and your brothers will going to the same school…” she started saying but Cloud had tuned her out and just stared at the scenery out the window.


(Few Hours Later)

The car finally pulled into the new driveway. “Cloud…honey wake-up.” Oniyata said lightly shaking her son’s shoulder. When he turned his sleepy gaze to her she continued. “Get your brothers up, get your bags and sleeping bags. It’s too late to unload everything.” she said. He nodded as she got out of the car and unlocked the trunk. He twisted in his seat and shook his 15 year old brother’s knee. “Roxie…Rox…Roxas…Dude wake-up.” he said. Roxas eyes finally snapped opened and he glared at his older brother tiredly.
“What the hell Cloud!? I was sleeping.” he said softly so not to wake Sora.
“Get your shit and go inside.” he said as he turned to wake Sora. Roxas watched him for a few moments then sighed.
“Cloud just carry him… you know your not going to wake him.” he said.
“He’s fucking 15 years old! I’m not carrying him.” Cloud said turning to his younger brother. Roxas rolled his eyes and got out of the car. They both knew he would carry him. Even though Sora and Roxas were twins, Sora was treated like the baby of the family. He was nothing like his brothers. Cloud was calm, quiet and sometimes even tempered ( When he’s not woken up from a sound sleep) while Roxas was not afraid to speak his mind even if he sometimes spoke before thinking. Sora was the complete opposite. He was happy, friendly and always thinks before he spoke. He was the most sensitive of peoples feeling as well. Roxas had grabbed both his and Sora’s bag and had just grabbed Cloud’s bag when in the corner of his eye he saw Cloud carrying Sora into the house. He smirked. Even if Cloud didn’t admit it, he knew his older brother had a soft spot for Sora. Roxas followed his older brother and placed their stuff in the living room. He unrolled Sora’s sleeping bag so Cloud could put him down. When Sora was situated Roxas unrolled his sleeping bag next to him. When Oniyata came to lock up for the night she smiled at the sight in the new living room. Cloud and Roxas had their sleeping bags on each side of Sora protecting him like they did when they were awake. She kneeled and kissed each of their foreheads. “Sleep well my sons.” she whispered before locking the door and turning off the light.


(Next Morning)

The next morning was a complete blur for the boys as they unloaded the boxes from the traveling pod they rented and putting them into in their respectful places. The house itself was white with green shutters. It reminded Sora of those homes you see in movies. It was a four bedroom house. He and Roxas of course were sharing one while Cloud took the room next to theirs. Tomorrow they would register for school and he knew all three would sign up for the dueling team. He just prayed this would be the last time they would move.

Chapter 2- New Faces, New Friends.


The next morning found Sora, Roxas and Cloud outside the school waiting to get registered. Since Cloud was 17 he could help Sora and Roxas with the registration. When they finished Cloud took them to the store and they got what they need for school and some school clothes. They only had four more weeks before school started. They were driving home when Roxas spoke up.
“Hey Cloud,…do you think we’ll be okay?” he asked. Sora looked at his older brother thinking the same thing.
“Honestly Rox…I think we will. Just remember if ANYONE gives you two trouble I’ll be there to help you. Got it?” he stated. Roxas nodded and continued to stare out the window.
(Four weeks Later)

Sora woke to his alarm going off. He slipped out of his bed and changed into a pair of baggy blue jeans and a blue shirt. He snapped on his chain wallet to his belt and grabbed his new ICP hoodie and went down stairs. Roxas was already awake and in the shower. He stepped into the kitchen and grabbed a bowl and his cereal. Roxas walked in a few minutes later dressed in a white button up with a black collar and cream tan pants with black zip shorts on top. He had on his black and white ‘bands’ as he called them and his checkered wristband. He saw what he twin was eating and grimaced. He settle with a piece of toast. “How can you eat that shit?” he asked. Sora shrugged. Cloud walked in a few minutes later. He was dressed in a dark blue short sleeve turtle neck shirt and blue jeans. He chuckled slightly Sora was barely awake. He downed a cup of coffee his mom had made and grabbed the car keys.
“Get your shit and lets go.” he said. Sora and Roxas ran back to their room and grabbed their messenger bags and ran to the car. Cloud placed his own bag into the car and they headed off to school. When they arrived they saw the principal standing at the top of the stairs and with him were two boys. One had shoulder length brown hair and grey eyes, he had a scar running across his face. He was wearing jeans and a black muscle shirt. The boy next to him had flaming red hair spiked and emerald green eyes. He had two black teardrops under his eyes. He wore a black shirt and black baggy pants.
“Hello boys. I’m Ansem.These two are Squall Leonheart and Axel Fairhaven, they will be showing you to your classes. Now have a great day on your first day at Radiant High.” he said leaving them there as he went back inside. Sora and Roxas watched him leave.
“Is he high or something?” Roxas mumbled. “How the bloody hell is being at school great?” The one named Axel heard him and chuckled. Roxas looked over at him and raised an eyebrow at him. Axel just shook his head and smiled. “I take it your Roxas and the cutie next to you is your twin. “ he said. Roxas glared at him as did Cloud. Leon rolled his eyes and punched Axel on his shoulder.
“Axel can it.” he said before turning to Cloud. “Don’t mind him he’s a fearless flirt. I’m suppose to show you to the junior classes. Axel behave with these two. I’m not going to save your ass if you cause Cloud here to beat the hell out of ya.” He said as he turned to go inside and motioned for Cloud to follow him.
Axel pouted. “Party pooper.” he mumbled. He then saw the glare still on Roxas face. He sighed. “Dude relax I was joking. Come on I’ll take you to see some of my friends we have a free period right now.” he said as he too turned to go into the building. Sora grabbed his brother’s arm. “Rox..I understand you guys want to protect but I could tell he was joking. What’s the deal?” he asked. Roxas shrugged. “Nothing.” he said as he followed him. ‘Actually Sor. You’re too good for him and if he lays a finger on you He’ll face the wrath of Roxas and Cloud Strife.’ he thought as they followed the red head.


(On the rooftop)
Roxas and Sora followed the red head until he lead them to the roof. They saw a group of kids their age talking. One had spiky blonde hair and was wearing a camouflage sleeveless shirt and green cargo pants. The kid next to him wore a black ad blue shirt and blue jeans he too had blonde hair. “Hey Hayner, Demyx!” Axel shouted. They looked up at him and waved “Where’s Marly and Zexy?” he asked as he neared.
“They went inside for something. Who are they Ax?” Hayner asked.
“Oh, meet the new guys Roxas and Sora Strife. Guys meet Hayner and Demyx. Their Leon’s brothers. Oh yeah Never and I mean never call Leon, Squall, he hates it.” Axel said. They nodded and sat down by Demyx and Hayner. A few minutes later the roof door opened and out came a boy with blue hair and a boy with pink hair. Both were dressed in black pants and black shirts. “Hey Zexion, Marluxia meet Sora and Roxas Strife.” Axel said without looking at him. Sora felt Roxas pinch him. “What?” he whispered. “Please tell me you see that’s guy’s hair is pink.” he said. Marluxia heard him and laugh. “It’s suppose to be red but I grabbed the wrong bottle.” he said. Sora just shrugged to Roxas and went over to talk to Demyx.

(With Cloud and Leon )

Cloud followed Leon to their first class. When they arrived Leon pulled Cloud to the back table in the English class. “Hey Leon who’s this?” asked a boy long black hair asked. He was wearing a crimson long sleeve shirt and black leather pants. “ Hey Vince, This is Cloud. Cloud meet Vincent Valentine.” Leon introduced. Vincent stared at Cloud for a moment. “Another silent type huh?” he stated then turned his gaze to Leon. “ So Captain, whose trying out?” he asked. Leon shrugged. Vincent saw the confusion in Cloud’ s face. “Leon here is the dueling captain.” he said. “My brothers and I are trying out.” Cloud said. “Your kidding right? You, I can see dueling but your brothers not so much.” Leon said. Cloud smirked “Then your in for a surprise.” he said. Leon didn’t get to say any more cause the teacher had started the lesson.

(Lunchtime)

Roxas and Sora were waiting for their brother outside the caf when trouble started. Sora was roughly pushed from behind. Roxas quickly grabbed him before he hit the ground. “Hey Shortie out of my way.” a voice said. Roxas looked up and saw a teenage boy around Cloud age with a beanie on his head. He also had a scar across his face similar to Leon’s. He glared. “ how about going around him asshole.” He said angrily.
“You want to start something pipsqueak?” the boy asked back.
“SIEFER! ENOUGH!” they heard someone shout. Roxas turned and saw his brother along with Leon and another boy. “Well, well well, if it isn’t the esteemed dueling captain along with his dark haired lover. Now move along, I’m busy.” He said.
“Leave them alone.” Cloud said glaring at the boy heatedly.
“Why should I?” Siefer asked. Cloud didn’t answer but instead punched the boy in the face. Siefer grabbed his nose as it started to bleed.
“You addhole. You brod my node.” he said.
“Good. That what you get for messing with my brothers. Now move it.” Cloud said. Seifer glared one more time at Sora and Roxas before running off to get his nose fixed. Cloud looked at his brothers. “You guys okay?” he asked. They both nodded.
“Damnmit Cloud! I could have punched his light out. Why did you interfere?” he asked.
“Because its my job to make sure you two don’t get into trouble.” Cloud said.
“Whatever.” Roxas mumbled. “ACK! Cloud let me go.” he said as he struggled to get out of the headlock Cloud had him in. Roxas finally gave up trying to escape. Cloud released him. “Now how were you going to ‘punch his lights out’ when you couldn’t escape out of the headlock” Cloud asked. “Shut up.” Roxas said. Cloud chuckled. “Come on the day’s almost over,” he said.
