The Trinity

This is a fan made story featuring around Black and White, a world either equal to or larger than the planet earth who’s gods still roam the planet’s surface. Please note that I plan to write two separate versions of the story. One for adults (adult-fanfiction.org) and one for a more teen or mature audience (fanfiction.net). Some chapters will be cut out or added in depending on which version you plan to read, so keep that in mind!

Full Summary: Three young gods are created and sent to protect their people from danger. But when the unexpected occurs and they are all sent to the same place, it falls to them to decide how best to control the island amongst the three of them!

Chapter 1: The Arrival

It was the island of Solstice’s yearly refuge month. The island was very special because for one month every year, the island’s climate would go ballistic by causing storms, quakes, and various other disasters. Solstice usually recovered, but the month chosen was random for each year. Some were claiming that the island had been cursed many centuries ago.

This year, however, was much worse. The last month of the year and the first month of the next year had both fallen into the category of the random disaster months! A full two month onslaught of natural disasters ravaging the island and killing hundreds of people with each passing week. It was clear that soon they would be completely wiped out of they did not seek help.

Lucky for them, the island’s shaman had heard rumors from far away about the power of gods coming to the aid of praying people, and they stood atop the Solstice’s highest mountain, Mt. Storm Fury. It was called such because the storms raged like an angry beast atop it’s peak. It was said that no mortal could possibly survive the climb during the disasters, yet the island shaman managed to do so. Those who climbed the mountain during such times were considered worthy of being shaman in the first place.

Yet, at the moment, with the lightning raging around them and the island being shaken by quakes while the seas blasted the shore with waves cutting off any chance of escape by ship, the holy men were having an argument over what kind of problems should be fixed first.

“The Storms flood the land and seek to wash away our homes! We need the aid of a god who can quell the vast seas and calm the rain!” shouted one shaman as he sat under his tent holding a bowl of rain water as the storms poured down around him.

“Nay, we should pray for these quakes to stop, gorges and fissures are opening every day and volcanoes are starting to erupt in the center of the island, we need a god who can wrestle the earth itself into submission and who’s fury is strong enough to even cause the powers of fire to bow to him! If we don’t, the island will be shattered apart if the volcanoes don’t succeed in burning us to death!” proclaimed another shaman as she held a bongo drum and was tapping on it absently.

“No my friends! What we need is a powerful god of the skies to lead us in our plight! Those who climb this mountain and survive are deemed holy by the people. We need a god who can be seen as believable to boost our moral, we need a god of Thunder and Wind!” said the third shaman who was holding a ceremonial fan.

The three shaman could not settle on what to pray for until they finally decided to cure all three problems at once and they raised their artifacts to the sky and began to pray for a god to aid them. One who could calm the seas, tame the earth, dominate the fire, and lead the wind. Little did they know just what they were creating…

Meanwhile, in the beginning of existence itself…

Three human-like beings began to form in a vast plane of nothingness, the beings gradually gained more definition as they continued to form. All three of them looked like very young humans, but had various features not normally found on humans.

One was a young girl who looked to be about 15 by humans standards. She wore a strange bikini made of fire itself yet who’s flames were dense enough to cover her modesty, she also had several ankle bands and wrist bands made of a variety of beautiful jewels and stones while a necklace made entirely of diamonds wreathed her neck. Her skin was a strange color of green and brown, almost like earthen soil and grass while her hair hung waist length in a long pony-tail and was the color of molten magma which made it shine brightly in the light. Her eyes were shining emerald in color and she looked very strong by having finely tuned muscles but not enough to be bulging like a male would have, along with having other attractive features such as her bust size. She was quite beautiful even for a goddess. She was obviously who the shaman had prayed to for a strong god capable of taming the earth and fire!

The second god was a male who looked to be around 14 years old. Despite being a god, he looked to be more along the lines of a diplomat than a powerful leader. His means of clothing considered of a stunning robe of water vapor which was also dense enough to cover his modesty, much like the previous god’s flame bikini, the robe was kept tied with what looked to be a strip of malleable ice acting like a belt. His skin was crystal blue in color along with his sea green eyes making him look somewhat like a nymph rather than a god, his earlobe length snow colored hair was probably the only thing about him that didn’t resemble water. His body wasn’t nearly as toned as the other god, in fact, it was quite lithe in build. Almost frail looking due to his skinny body as the robe of vapor easily hung off him, kept on only by the tight, ice belt he used to keep it in place. Obviously this god was the one who was supposed to calm the sea and the rain.

The final god looked to be a 9 year old girl! Being far younger in appearance than the other gods, it was difficult to say how she could protect or lead anyone since she was obviously the thunder god they had prayed for. She wore a dress made of clouds which, like the other gods, was thick enough to cover her modesty while she had very light colored skin, almost pale but not exactly white either, her hair was shoulder length and bright blonde in color which went nicely with her electric-blue colored eyes. She seemed to have nothing particularly special about her body design, not being particularly strong nor weak, but none the less, she was a goddess.

As the three gods gained consciousness, they were instantly ripped out of the beginning of existence and sent hurdling through time and space straight for the planet, and right towards the island, Solstice!

“What the heck is going on!?” shouted the earth goddess as they went hurdling through space, passing by planets and stars at jet-like speed. As they were flying, she accidentally speed straight through the center of a star, causing the thing to go super nova on impact, thus dooming any planets who might have been orbiting it for warmth. She came out of the star perfectly un-phased, but paused to look back at the destruction she had accidentally wrought as they continued speeding forth.

“Wherever we’re going, I think it’s for a good reason, now calm yourself. We don’t want any more chaos than we’re already in.” said the water god as he arms were tucked inside the sleeves of his robe like a medieval style monk would do during praying. He had placed the hood of his robes up to shield his face as they zoomed closer towards their destination, thus covering everything except his lower jaw in the impenetrable veil of water.

“Weee! We’re going so fast!” cheered the young lightning god as she laughed while flailing her arms and legs. She tried to make herself go faster, but accidentally proceeded to blast small traces of static electricity through space, zapping the fire goddess in the butt which she would have turned and confronted the offender, if she knew how to stop at the moment.

Finally, after several more minutes, they came upon the planet of Eden, a lush world very much like Earth. They gazed in wonder as they went hurdling towards an island which seemed to be almost completely clouded over with massive storm clouds as they plummeted through the atmosphere, heading straight for Mt. Storm Fury!

The Shaman gazed in amazement as from the sky came three glorious beams of light heading straight for them, at first they thought they’re prayers had been answered, until the three light beams stopped just short of colliding into the peaks to reveal that the light had actually been the three god children who were simply traveling at the speed of light!

“We prayed for a mighty and powerful god, and instead we get children!?” asked the female shaman in shock as she saw the three gods hovering in front of them and looking confused.

“Now Sindra, remember what the legends told. All gods born of prayer are newborns, we might see them grow to adulthood some day, just give it time.” said one of the other shaman as he approached the three hovering deities.

“I’m sorry, can somebody please explain where we are? My friends here are either extremely upset, or completely oblivious about our long travel.” said the water god indicating his partners, the fire one having shown obvious frustration while the wind goddess was looking around and giggling as the lightning cascaded down around the island.

“Ah yes, forgive us your highness. We forgot that you are still new.” said the third shaman as he held up his fan and began to explain, “We live on an island which every year is plagued by horrendous disasters for a full month. We usually are able to rebuild, but this time it’s worse than ever before! We needed somebody capable of stopping the disasters for good, so we prayed to the heavens for a powerful god.” he explained.

“The only problem is that we couldn’t decide on what to pray for, earth and fire, lightning and wind, or water, and so we kind of mixed them all together to form a god. But instead we got you three.” said Sindra, the female shaman in anger.

The earth/fire goddess looked at her with a hidden smirk, she liked this shaman who seemed as moody about the situation as she was. The shaman had hair growing down to her waist which had been adorned with several fetishes of jewels and animal bone, her skin was quite dark, almost charcoal colored as she had made her dwelling deep in the central area of the island where volcanoes and ash storms raged each year. She was strong not only in spirit but also in body, such a life demanded it to survive in those conditions. She wore a grass skirt and tank top with several gold rings on her wrists and ankles. She looked more like a witchdoctor than an actual shaman! While she wasn’t exceptionally beautiful with the animal bones decorating her, or the rather unusual charcoal skin, she had a look of wizened age to her, as if she had survived a great deal of these disasters and knew of several ways to survive them. She looked to be near her early fifties as indicated by the wrinkles in her skin and her long, gnarled fingernails which had been filed to resemble claws and had been grown to half her finger’s length.

“That is Sindra, our warrior priest. She and her tribe live deep near the center, where the volcanoes and earthquakes are at their worst, her tribe is usually quite easy to anger, so we leave them in peace.” said the shaman who was holding the bowl of water, “My name is Malkian, I am the Wiseman of for the sailors and traders to near the borders of the island. My people usually seek my aid when planning navigation courses through the tides and charting the course of the sea. But that is impossible at the moment due to all the floods and waves we are suffering.” said the shaman.

The Water god smiled upon this man for his calmness and sense of formality. The man looked to be a scholar as well as an expert navigator and astronomer, obviously a very wise man. He looked to be a few years younger than Sindra, possibly in his late forties while he wore a bright yellow robe adorned with shining blue patterns having been stitched into it which resembled waves of the sea near his wrists, ankles, and waist. He had the hood down to show his short cut orange hair and his braided beard which hung down to his chest and was braided into a single ponytail design. He looked rather old, but not exactly feeble. His lifestyle was usually peaceful, but he could not afford to be weakened by this when he had to constantly climb the mountain each year.

“And I am known as Strolgar, high priest of the northmen!” called the third shaman who was holding the fan. The gods noticed that this man seemed to have come from quite possibly a harsher lifestyle than Sindra’s tribe!

He wore the pelt of a bear for a cape while having a tunic made from the hide of a mountain lion with pants made of durable leather as well as boots made from the same. He stood nearly six feet tall and had rather finely tuned muscles, almost bulky actually, his bear was thick and untamed as it hung down to his stomach while he had a braided mustache which hung to his chest. Despite being a beard, it was rather straight and smooth and he held the end together with a metal band to keep it from flailing. His head was bald on the top and his facial hair was gray with age, the gods noticed that beside the fan, he also held a deadly looking war hammer which would take most normal humans two hands to hold effectively.

“Strolgar is the shaman for our barbarians who make their homes on the mountains. They dominate the high peaks all except for this mountain, Mt. Storm Fury which is considered to be a sacred and holy land.” said Malkian, noticing that Strolgar seemed to tense at the mention of the word barbarian.

“Enough talk Malkian, we prayed for a god who could stop these storms and now we got them, lets fix the storms and then we can get acquainted, our people are dying and here you are acting like you’ve just met a long lost friend!” said Sindra stepping in front of the shaman to approach the gods.

“We would like to, but we actually don’t know what we’re doing. We just now got here and we’re a bit new to this whole thing.” said the water god humbly. At this, Sindra and Strolgar had to restrain a groan of frustration, but Malkian nodded in understanding.

“Humans who climb this mountain and live are deemed as holy men or women to the rest of the tribes. Little do they know that this is not just a title, but a truth. We shaman knew a little about the godly powers known as Miracles, and we can perform a couple very weak miracles for personal use when gods are not taking charge. But alas, we are mortals and do not have the strength or power required to fully take control of nature itself. We need your aid…” said the sea shaman, “If you wish it, my fellow Shaman can teach you these weak miracles, but anything stronger than this must be learned on your own.” he added.

“What’s a Miracle?” asked the wind goddess as she hovered around Strolgar cheerfully. She didn’t seemed bothered at all by the thunderous lightning crashing every few seconds just a couple hundred yards away.

“Miracles are acts of godly power, some non religious humans refer to it as magic, but it’s actually divine power channeled through a god or extremely gifted humans in order to control nature and even existence itself. All gods possess this power, but for humans, it is practically impossible unless one spends decades of training.” said Malkian with a bow.

“Alright, teach us what you know and we’ll try to help you.” said the fire/earth goddess as the three gods approached the shaman who nodded and raised their hands while beginning to channel their powers.

“Normally for humans, it takes decades of training, but gods devised a way to instantly train themselves by channeling the knowledge directly into each other’s minds. We too possess this ability and shall now channel them to you.” said Sindra.

Back on the island below….

“What are those shaman doing!? We’re dying while they sit atop a mountain and watch!?” shouted one of the tribesman for Sindra’s people as they were trying to flee from a wildfire which had started in the jungle due to a vent of lava having burst from the ground. The tribe was starting to make a run for the shores, hoping to avoid being burned to death, choosing that a death by drowning would have been better, but a second vent of magma burst up from the ground in front of them, trapping them in with magma now rising from both sides!

The tribe prepared to die, being the warriors that they were and not fearing death when it looked inevitable, when suddenly water began to cascade around them, pelting the lava and causing it to give off a loud hiss as it was super cooled into rock. The tribe looked to the sky in wonder to see the water god holding an outstretched hand over the tribe below as rain water poured forth from a cloud located at the edge of his fingers.

The god smiled at having the miracle work, the shaman Malkian had informed him that due to being a human, all he could do was create tiny showers good for growing small crops, but as a god, one could create entire rain storms capable of supplying the entire island with fresh crops for weeks at a time! Yet he noticed his rain cloud was weak, not enough power was being drawn from his believers as the shaman had informed him that the power of miracles relied upon the power of spiritual belief. The more a person was worshiped, the more powerful their miracles would become!

“Gather as many people as you can and ask them to pray to us! We need more power for our miracles!” shouted the water God as he finished cooling the magma into stone, the tribe cheered the god on and he could already feel his powers growing as they rushed to find survivors to increase his power.

“Alright, now I hope you two can do as good…” said the water god to himself but intending the comment for his fellow gods. He looked to the sky as he watched the young goddess flying just below one of the largest storm clouds, laughing as the lightning boomed around her.

The goddess didn’t like the idea of ending her fun, but she knew that later on she could make up for it as she stretched her arms upwards and began to channel her powers into performing the lightning miracle! Raw electricity burst from her fingertips and up into the clouds, disrupting the flow of lightning and drawing it straight into her body where she absorbed it like a godly sponge! The cloud began to shrink more and more as she absorbed the power stored within it until finally the cloud vanished entirely and she felt her body brimming with godly might! Even her cloud dress was pulsing with lightning every few seconds.

“Wow, I feel all tingly! I’m going to play with the other clouds now too!” she cheered as she acted very energetic with all the lightning coursing through her divine body, any mortal would have been totally obliterated by the voltage, but she acted as if it was perfectly natural to have trillions of volts of electricity in her body as she flew off towards the rest of the clouds.

Lastly, the fire and earth Goddess made it to the shores to witness the crashing waves beating up the ships and crushing several seaside homes. She glared at the waves and flew down to the ground where she landed on her feet gracefully and held a fist to the sky while channeling her godly powers into it. With a thunderous battle roar, the goddess slammed her fist straight down into the earth, causing a massive tremor which shook through the earth and into the sea, effectively causing a tidal wave in the opposite direction of the island, canceling out the oncoming waves and sending them back out to sea!

With the waves cured and the lava slowly being taken care of, that just left the quakes to deal with as she flew towards the volcano in the center of the island which had been causing the destruction. As she neared the peak, she saw the water god trying to douse the flames with his rain which by now had actually become quite large, measuring the size of a small house as it cooled the lava. She flew right past him and dove straight into the volcanic center under the magma, much to the water god’s surprise!

The heat was scalding, but to the fire goddess, she barely noticed it as she swam through the magma, searching for the source of the disruption until finally plunging to the very core of the volcano where she proceeded to punch to surrounding rock in an attempt to tunnel a secondary eruption leading straight out into the sea!

She summoned all the godly energy she could muster and dove deeper at a downward angle, plunging through several hundred feet of stone as the magma followed her through the tunnel and finally pour out into the sea as she dove out of the island. But that was a mistake for her, for no sooner had she submersed herself and the magma into the ocean then she started to feel incredibly weak.

Having been created from the desire for a fire and earth god, she was not suited for traveling in water, nor were her powers of much use, she quickly began to feel faint as she felt her godly powers weakening just enough to keep her immortal without making her powerful, her fiery clothing also seemed to extinguish, leaving her naked while her shining hair began to dim. She began to fall to the depths of the oceans and black out before she felt a firm grip on her wrists. Looking up, she could just make out the face of the water god as he grabbed her and began to swim to the surface at rapid speeds, within seconds they had reached shore again where the god laid her upon the beach and waited for her strength to return to her.

As she regained consciousness and her strength returned, her fiery bikini returned automatically without her even thinking about it as it ignited across her skin while her hair returned to the glorious shine it once had. If the water god had been excited by her temporary nakedness, he made no attempt to show it as he helped her to her feet shortly before they were joined by the younger goddess as she floated down towards them, her dress crackling with energy and she practically bouncing off the walls with enthusiasm!

“I think we might have stopped all the disasters…” said the water god as they looked around to notice nothing else was being destroyed, the goddesses nodded as they realized he was right and the three of them flew back to meet the shaman.

"It just crossed my mind that we don't know who we are. We never even thought of names for ourself." said the water god as he realized he couldn't just call his friends fire or lightning goddess.

"You will address me as Magmosia." said the fire goddess as she showed a sense of pride about her while giving the water god a silent thanking look for having saved her.

"The I guess I'll be Volvaiga!" said the thunder goddess cheerfully, causing the other two gods to look at her in surprise at how quickly she had decided a name.

"Then call me Kraken." said the water god with a smile, pleased that now they all had names in which to address each other.

“By the way…. How are we going to control the island? The shaman wanted one god, they got 3 of us.” said Magmosia in a harsh and uncaring tone. Obviously not liking the idea of having just been rendered weak by something as simple as a swim.

Volvaiga didn’t seem bothered by the question, but Kraken was deeply intrigued by it.

“How indeed…” he replied.
