I do not own Lost in Blue, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Happy Ending?
I don't own any of the Lost in Blue games. I don't own Konami (which sucks, as I'd like to put my own songs onto a DDR game!). And of course, I'm not making any money off of this. I'm a broke college student writing this for my own creative purposes, so please don't sue-- you, um, would be waiting for your winnings for a veeeeery long time.
"Keith..." Skye stopped in the middle of the path. They could hear the guards marching around the corner.
"What is it, Skye?" Keith sighed.
"I'm scared." She whispered. "I don't want to be shark food."
"That won't happen." Keith promised her. "Come on."
He watched until the guards walked away, then led her swiftly across the path and into the bushes on the other side. They waited until the guards' boots clomped off into the distance, then hurried into the perimeters of the base.
"We're almost there, Skye!" Keith cheered her on. "The boat is right--"
He stopped dead in his tracks, face to face with the barrel of a gun. Skye ran into him from behind.
"Oof." She stumbled backwards and almost fell. "Keith, why did you stop?"
Several more guards closed in on them, guns raised, and Keith sighed. "I think we just got caught."
"Put your hands on top of your heads and don't move." One of the guards ordered. Keith and Skye obeyed without hesitation.
"Please don't shoot!" Keith supplicated the one he assumed was the head guard. "We've been surviving on this island for the past month. We can be useful to you. We're just so relieved to see other people."
"Quiet." The guard moved forward until he was right in front of them. He leaned forward to look at Skye, so that his face was only a foot or two away from hers. "You're a pretty little thing, aren't you? What's your name?"
"Keith, what does he look like?" Skye asked him nervously. Her eyes were moving rapidly over the soldier's face, but Keith knew she could only make out the most basic shapes and colors.
"Short blonde hair, blue eyes, a square jaw, and a big gun." Keith answered. "Her name is Skye, by the way."
"What's wrong with her?" The head guard reached out and took her by the chin, as if sizing her up. Keith's stomach churned.
"She's blind." It really wasn't that much of an exaggeration; she was legally blind without her glasses, even if her vision was close to normal with them. And Keith thought their chances of surviving might be better if they thought Skye was blind.
The guard grinned at Skye, inspecting her face and eyes, then letting his eyes wander down her body. "Take the boy to the boss." He instructed the rest of the guards.
"Wait! I'm her guide!" Keith panicked. "She needs me!"
"Don't worry." The guard waved him off. "We'll take good care of her."
