The following contains characters created by Sega and DiC. No, this story is based on the Sonic Underground series. Of course, I'm placing SatAM characters here as well. This will get a little complicated...,oh just read the thing and you'll see. I may be taking liberties that no author has before, but I've never seen this type of story anywhere before. For continuity's sake, this takes place post series.

'Maybe Manic was right,' Knuckles thinks climbing up to the top of the mountain where his great grandfather resides, "us echidnas do like high places!' He finally reaches the top.
"Good, you came." Athaire greets his great grandson.
"Why have you summoned me? And why did you tell me to park the island in that fog bank?"
"We have been betrayed."
"Betrayed?"
"Not just the Echidnas, but every single Mobian on this planet."
"I don't understand great grandfather...,what are you talking about?" Knuckles asks confusion evident in his voice.
"We are apart of a conspiracy conjured up by the Oracle of Delphius."
"You mean...?"
"Yes. The one that is helping your hedgehog friends is not what he appears to be. One of the siblings is about to discover a past that he thought he didn't have."
"What do you want me to do?"
"It is time for you to join them. You'll need to help them when they go up against Oracle. And Knuckles...,"
"Yes?"
"I give my blessing for you to make the female hedgehog your life mate."
"Thank you thank you thank you thank you!" Knuckles says excitedly and gratefully.
"Ah, young love...,don't let anything get in the way of it." Athaire quietly says watching his great grandson heading down the steps.

"Sonic...,Sonic...,Sonic...,Sonic!" Manic says trying to wake his brother.
"Sal," Sonic mumbles in his sleep.
"Sal? Wake up!"
"Ahhh!" Sonic cries out finally waking up.
"You up?"
"I am now." Sonic says shaking his head in order to clear it.
"C'mon, we've got another one of Butnik's factories to destroy." Manic says.
"All right, give me a sonic second." Sonic replies.

"Intruders detected." a SWAT-bot reports.
"Ah," Robotnik says after the picture flashes to life on the screen, "as I predicted."
"You seem to be pleased that the hedgehogs have shone up." Sleet comments.
"Oh yes," Robotnik says in glee, "I've been waiting to test my latest creations. Stealth unit one, are you in position?"
"Affirmative." a robotic voice replies.
"Excellent. Capture the hedgehogs and bring them to me."
"Acknowledged."
"What is this stealth unit anyway?" Dingo asks.
"These are my latest versions of SWAT-bot. I call them...,Stealth-bots." Robotnik answers. "They have the ability to go undetected until they make there presence known. The hedgehogs won't know what hit them! Aaahahaha!"
"Then we roboticize them?" Sleet asks.
"No." Robotnik replies.
"No?" Dingo asks.
"I will send a message to the entire planet in hopes that Queen Alleena will hear it. I will announce that the three hedgehogs will be publicly executed for crimes against the Robotnik empire. She'll have to show up then." Robotnik says grinning.
"And when we have the Queen...," Sleet starts.
"Then, in one felt swoop, I will eliminate the entire hedgehog family!" he says in glee.

Everything was running like clockwork. The three hedgehogs had once again rigged explosives to destroy yet another factory. The moment the trio exit the building the place bursts into flames. The three hedgehogs celebrate until the three were restrained by Robotnik's newest machines. They were silver and unlike the normal SWAT-bots, these units' servos didn't whine when the bot made any movement.
"Bummer-mayhorris(1[SP?]), where did these tin cans come from?" Sonic asks struggling in the grips of two of the stealth-bots.
"Targets have been apprehended. Orders?" the apparent head bot asks.
"Bring them to the command center. Make sure that they can't activate those medallions." Robotnik orders over the com-link.
"Acknowledged." the unit replies. Before the squad could carry out their orders, the two holding Sonia fall down from holes that were punched through their backs. Not wasting any time, Sonia activates her medallion and starts blasting the bots holding her brothers. The four fire back until they too fall to the ground with sparks shooting out of their backs.
"Those tin cans aren't so tough when they aren't sneaking around."
The three turn to find the source of the voice. It was Sonia who spotted their rescuer.
"Knuckles!" she cries out and runs over to hug him.
"Hey man, ya noticed he saved our sis first, bro?" Manic asks smirking.
"Yeah, I noticed. Knuckle-head better beware of what he's in for." Sonic says smiling.
"Oh shut up the both of you! Don't listen to those two. They obviously don't have any idea what they are talking about." Sonia says.
"Don't worry, I can tune them out." Knuckles says continuing the banter.
"Uh guys, I think we better get out of here before Butnik sends half of Robotropolis after us." Manic suggests. Putting off the reunion, the four escape.

"Those hedgehogs! How lucky can they be!?" Robotnik fumes.
"The more important question is why did Knuckles show up when he did." Sleet says looking thoughtful. Robotnik calms for a moment and a thought strikes him.
"Oracle! He must be behind this! He probably has hidden the Floating Island and instructed Knuckles to help those hedgehogs." Robotnik surmises.
"Why would the Oracle wait so long to do that?" Dingo asks scratching his head.
"For once, you have asked something that proves that you do have a brain there, somewhere." Sleet says.
"Oracle probably is readying my downfall by training those hedgehogs. He probably wanted to let them get to a certain level and then allow Knuckles to join them!" Robotnik finishes slamming his fist into the armrest of the chair he was sitting at.

'Why does she haunt my dreams?' Sonic thinks as he lyes awake. 'Who is she? I've never met a red headed ground squirrel in my life.'
"Hey bro, you awake?" Manic whispers.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Go back to sleep."
"No way man. Knuckle-head's snoring ain't going to let that happen. Who is this Sal?"
"I don't know, and that's the truth. Hm, hope Sonia can put up with him."
"Ain't that the truth. C'mon man, tell me about the girl you're hiding."
"Whoever she is she's a red head ground squirrel."
"Ah a red head...,you go bro. Red heads know how to have fun."
"One, how do you know that, and two, I've never met her in my life. I know one thing though."
"What?"
"I think my answers are in the Great Petrified Forest."
"Whoa, wait a minute Sonic, no one has ever returned from that place."
"Awe, don't worry, no forest can take down this hedgehog. In fact, I'm going now."
"But...,"
"Tell Sonia and lover boy that I'll be back faster than you can say chilidog." Sonic says and leaves.
"Chilidog," Manic says rubbing his forehead.

"Whoa, there's a lot of dead wood around here." Sonic says to himself as he stands at the outskirts of the forest. Deciding to walk in order not to trip over any roots, he slowly makes his way into the thick forest. He feels his medallion start to heat up and he clutches at his head. Crying out in pain, Sonic tosses aside the medallion. As he continues to scream, the medallion starts flashing from green to blue and back. Sonic whimpers in pain as he lays on the forest floor. He thought his head would explode from the pain, but it finally calms down. His eyes roll back into his head and he passes out.

"Way past not cool," Sonic says as he comes too an hour later. "Oracle! I'll get you for this! You'll pay for hurting my friends and my blood mate!" If they're dead I'll make your death as slow and as painful as I can possibly make it!" Sonic rants. He notices the medallion laying on the ground and puts it back on. He revs up and notices that it no longer hampered his speed. He takes off like a bullet and leaves a sonic boom in his wake.
"All right, let's see if I can still do this. Slipstream speed(2)!" he cries and he vanishes in a flash of white light. He finally comes to a complete stop and smiles. He looks down at the medallion and activates it. It releases his guitar and he fires off some notes and lasers.
"Oh yeah! Oracle, you are finished! Now, can I explain this to Manic and Sonia? They'll probably think I've lost my mind. Well, only one way to find out...,slipstream speed!" he cries once again and he vanishes in a flash of white light. He didn't realize that a figure had been watching.
"I'm sorry Sonic, I didn't realize that the Oracle of Delphius had played us all. Be careful all of you." Queen Alleena says.

"I'm back!" Sonic announces.
"You idiot! What were you thinking going into that forest!?" Sonia rants.
"Told you she wouldn't like it." Manic comments.
"Chill Sonia...,I need to talk to you two anyway." Sonic says. "You better stay too, Knuckle-head." he adds.
"Sooo, finally going to tell us the truth about that red head you've been dreaming about?" Manic teases.
"Yeah," Sonic answers.
"Huh," Manic lets out disbelievingly.
"What are you talking about, Manic?" Sonia asks.
'It's Sonic! He's the one with the past he knew not.' Knuckles thinks.
"We've all been played like a bunch of cheep Mobian fiddles. Oracle isn't the benevolent being that he appears to be." Sonic starts.
"What are you talking about?" Sonia asks confused.
"He's the one who set this whole thing up in the first place. Think, it doesn't just take a mother to have triplets y'know." Sonic says.
"Oracle didn't...?" Manic asks but Sonic stops him.
"No, at least, not the way you're thinking. He used his magic to create the two of you."
"Wait a minute, you said the two of us. What about you?" Sonia asks.
"I came from a history that Oracle had changed in order to create this Mobius." Sonic says.
"Whoa, you're saying that Oracle rewrote history?" Manic asks.
"Yes." Sonic answers.
"But why?" Sonia asks.
"He's a being summoned by another family of hedgehogs called the Roses. A Delphina Rose was the one that summoned him. she was the wife of the last king of Mobius to have the name Rose." Sonic explains.
Oracle of Delphius...,Delphina Rose...," Sonia quietly says comparing the two, "why would she summon Oracle in the first place?"
"She was trying to keep her family in power. Unfortunately, the Roses were overthrown by the Acorns." Sonic says.
"Acorn?" Manic and Sonia ask in unison.
"Yes. They were and are the true ruling family of this world. Oracle was instructed that when a generation of Acorns didn't have a male child that he would rewrite Mobian history before the eldest female came of age. I am the blood mate of that female."
"Blood mate?" Sonia asks.
"Her father didn't approve of me 'cause he didn't think I would ever be ready to rule a planet at her side. We preformed a blood ceremony tieing us together by our blood forever. Then Oracle struck, but we managed to hold him off. I then went to secure the services of a mage trapped in an interdimensional void. We were hoping to lure Oracle into the void and let the mage finish him off. I was heading back home when he knocked me unconscious and that's the last thing I can remember." Sonic finishes.
"I think I can believe you, but I need...," Sonia starts.
"Proof? Come with me to the forest and I'll show you the proof that will show you I'm not crazy." Sonic says.
"I believe him." Knuckles says. the other two turn to look at the echidna and he continues, "Great grandfather Athaire told me that Oracle had done something. Now I believe it."
"Come with me and I'll show you." Sonic says and the three head out.

:The quartet make their way through the forest. Sonic was guided by his memories of another Mobius. Seeing the cave entrance he leads the four into the tunnel.
"Welcome to Knothole village." Sonic says. Manic and Sonia look around at an abandoned village. The huts were weather worn, but with repair they could be lived in again.
"Whoa, talk about rustic." Manic notes.
"C'mon, I've got more...,I hope." Sonic says and they follow him.

Why was there a tunnel under the village?" Sonia asks.
"It was an emergency evacuation tunnel. We had our own Robotnik to deal with as well. There should be..., ah ha!" Sonic cries and the three see a metal door which had a keypad lock to the right. Sonic punches in an eight digit code and the door opens.
"How did you know the combination?" Manic asks.
"The code is the date of me and Sal's ceremony." Sonic answers.
"Chaos emeralds!" Knuckles cries seeing a purple, a white, and a black emerald.
"Don't touch!" Sonic warns. "They're powering those." Sonic points and the three saw rows and rows of cryogenic chambers.
"Who are in these things?" Sonia asks.
"The entire resistance of my Mobius." Sonic answers coming to one of the tubes. He piers down and sees his life mate. "Sal," he quietly says.
"Good taste in hair style." Sonia comments.
"This is Sally Alicia Acorn. The true future queen of Mobius and my blood mate. I'm sorry that our family is ruling due to a lie." Sonic says solemnly.
"It'll take me a bit to get use to the fact that our family's rule has come at the cost of these people." Sonia says feeling a little sick.
"What do we do, bro?" Manic asks.
"We can't wake them up until Oracle is destroyed." Sonic explains.
"How do we do that?" Sonia asks.
"You guys know how to play the funeral march?" Sonic asks.
"You mean...," Manic starts.
"Yep, we'll use the power of our music to get rid of him, once and for all." Sonic explains.
"Hey, who's he?" Knuckles asks pointing to an echidna sitting in the corner.
"Oh, that's Sentinal. He's in 'sleep mode'. He won't wake up until the proper command codes are given. His story is long and we don't have time right now to tell it. Let's give Oracle a little visit." Sonic says and the three follow him out.

"Why were they in those tubes anyway, Sonic?" Sonia asks as Manic drives the van.
"That was to be emergency plan B. I don't know why they were forced to do that before I was supposed to get back from the void." Sonic answers.
"What was up with those chaos emeralds?" Knuckles asks.
"The black one belongs to Shadow, the white one belongs to Maria, Shadow's life mate, and the purple one is the one that dictates who will be the next ruling family of Mobius. It's existence is why the Roses weren't still in power before the Robotnik in my history took over."
"What will happen when we do get rid of the Oracle?" Sonia asks. "Will history be restored?"
"No. To do that would take more chaos energy than Shadow or Maria are willing to use." Sonic answers.
"Who are they anyway?" Knuckles asks.
"The replacements of Chaos and Order." Sonic replies.
"Gods?" Sonia asks.
"Yep. Why they chose a black hedgehog and a white nine tailed kitsume is beyond me. Shadow and Maria were the only reason why we survived Oracle's first attack. Unfortunately, Oracle has the power to neutralize chaos energy."
"Hold it...,how can that small brain of yours hold all that knowledge?" Sonia asks.
"It's one of the effects of going through the blood bonding. I got some of Sal's brain power and she's picked up some of my 'bad habits'." Sonic explains and smirks.

"Cave of Oracle dead ahead." Manic announces.
"Did you have to say 'dead', Manic?" Sonia asks exasperated.

'Hm, wonder what they are doing here?' Oracle thinks. 'And Knuckles is with them too. I thought that his great grandfather told him to stay on the Floating Island.' He then feels the dormant spells in Sonic's medallion were not there. 'No! How could this happen!? He must have visited the forest...,but he wouldn't have to unless...,the bond! I knew I should've broke my word and destroyed those three chaos emeralds even if it meant that Order and Chaos themselves would come back! Calm down...,I must not assume anything, but I must prepare for anything.' Oracle thinks trying to think through all the possibilities and the ways he could avoid them.
"Yo Orc! I've got something you need to here!" Sonic cries out.
'He sounds too overconfident. He's hiding something or he's up to something.' Oracle thinks and then snaps his fingers teleporting the four to where he was currently.
Sonic rolls his eyes. If the Oracle wished to scare him out of what he was about to lead his siblings into doing then he better think again. "Now!" Sonic cries out. In unison the three let out their instruments and with a melodic metronome from Manic, Sonic and Sonia start playing the traditional Mobian funeral march.
"No! Stop that!" Oracle shouts realizing what they were going to do.
"What was that!? I couldn't hear you! If you want us to stop then you better fade out of existence before we force you out!" Sonic yells back.
"No!" Oracle cries. He tries to lunge at the three, but he quickly notices that he was fixed to the spot he was standing upon. A black aura surrounds him and starts to collapse around him. Oracle tries to fight against it, but it crushes him and an explosion of magic flares outward. When the dust settles the siblings stand up along with Knuckles.
"Is he gone?" Knuckles asks.
"I think so." Sonic answers.
"Uh, bro, my medallion is glowing green." Manic says worriedly.
"Mine too!" Sonia cries.
"Quickly, take 'em off!" Sonic shouts. The two didn't need to be told twice as they took the medallions off. They lay on the ground glowing green. Then, a ghostly apparition of Oracle appears.
"Not so easy to get rid of me is it, Sonic Morris Acorn Hedgehog?" Oracle asks. "What will you do? Your siblings can't touch their medallions without getting possessed by me. Your rash actions have cost you."
"Guess again Orc! I'll just give you a solo encore!" Sonic says and starts playing again.
"No! This world belongs to the house of Rose!" Oracle shouts.
"What were to be our fates after Butnik, huh Oracle!?" Sonic shouts back. "Were you going to bring back two female Roses and one male Rose to marry us off!? No! our futures won't be written like that!" he finishes and the black aura surrounds the ghost. Instead of the explosion, the sphere takes the spirit away in a flash of black energy leaving the medallions behind. Sonia's glows purple while Manic's glows the green of his quills. The two pick them back up and look at Sonic.
"Will they...?" Sonia starts to ask.
"Yeah, mine still does." Sonic says smiling.
"Cool." Manic states. "Now what though?"
"You guys head back to the hideout. I've got some old friends to visit. Slipstream speed!" Sonic cries and he disappears in a flash of white.

A bang and a flash of white light disturbs the quiet forest. Sonic comes out of his slipstream speed and starts to slow to sub-sonic speeds.
'Gotta love those deep power stones! Who knew absorbing that many power rings at once would increase my speed. I'm comin' Sal, just hold on.' he thinks navigating through the petrified trees and entering the cave entrance to Knothole.

"Nicole, voice recognition, Sonic Hedgehog." Sonic says.
The small computer, which was monitoring all the tubes, beeps for a moment then it responds. "Voice print confirmed...,welcome back my main hedgehog. What has happened to Oracle?"
"He's gone, for good. How's everyone doing?"
"They are cool, Sonic."
"Good, can you wake Sal?"
"Give me one sonic second my main hedgehog." Nicole says. Sonic comes over and watches as Sally is defrosting.
"What...?" Sally groggily says then she sees, "Sonic!" she cries throwing herself into his arms.
"Don't tell me, let me guess. Oracle tricked you guys into freezing yourselves."
"He told us if we didn't he would kill you. At first I thought he was bluffing, but he convinced us otherwise."
"I'm just glad our bond is so strong. I couldn't stand to be married to a Rose."
"C'mon, we've got to wake everyone else up."
"Yep, and finish off the Robotnik Oracle left us."

"You two don't make too much noise," Manic says to Knuckles and Sonia, "I'm gonna crash for a few hours." he finishes going to have himself a nap.
"Still upset that you're no longer 'princess'?"
"After what I saw in that village...," she begins sighing, "I feel as if I've lived a lie. Manic certainly adjusted to what we found out and he seems to be all right about it."
"He was raised differently from you. I find it odd that each of you were raised in three different classes."
"It Probably had been for the best. I just wish our history didn't' come at the cost of someone else's."
"I guess out of the ashes of both a new future could be born." Knuckles says leaning in closer to her.
"I like the sound of that." she says leaning the rest of the way and kisses him.

"Sir," Sleet says getting the attention of his employee.
"What is it Sleet?" Robotnik asks.
"It's the Petrified Forest, sir." Sleet responds.
"What about it?"
"Well, it's no longer petrified, sir."
"Show me!" Robotnik orders. A picture of a green forest flashes on the screen and he sees a familiar Hedgehog stepping out with another Mobian. "That's the Hedgehog! Zoom in." Robotnik says and a closer view of the pair is shown. "Who is that?" Robotnik asks.
"She's not in any of the data bases." Sleet reports.
"A secret freedom fighter group! It has to be the only answer." Robotnik rants.
"And it looks like Sonic's smitten with that red head." Dingo comments as Sonic kisses her and leaves.
"I want all intelligence gathered on that forest, now!" Robotnik orders.
"Yes sir!" the two say in unison."

'It's too quiet here. Where are those three?' Sonic thinks. He heads into the room he shares with Manic and sees the green hedgehog sleeping. He nods to himself and heads for his sis's room. Seeing the pair in tangled with each other and the bed sheets he shuts the door and leans against it.
"I didn't see that...,I didn't see that...,I didn't see that...,I did not see that!" he says. He opens the door and looks in to see the same sight. "Yep, I did see that!" he says after shutting the door again. He slumps to the floor and puts a hand to his head.
"I'm sorry, Sonic."
Sonic looks around and finds the source of the voice. He bites his lip as he tries to figure out how to address the older female hedgehog standing before him.
"To make it simple and to keep my head from hurting, I'll just call you mom and ask forgiveness from my own mother later if that's all right with you?" Sonic asks Alleena.
"Of course," she replies. "I would have told you if I knew that the Oracle had his own vision for Mobius. I never would have guessed that you were from another history. I just assumed that he found you."
"It's cool, mom. Oracle was manipulating everyone. I'm hoping to get every freedom fighter we've got and herd 'em to Knothole. That way Robotnik can't roboticize anymore of our people by just finding 'em because a Robotnik loyalist knows about 'em."
"Is that Sally talking?" Alleena asks.
"It was a plan that we both agreed upon. You want me to at least wake up Manic?"
"No, let him sleep."
"ah, don't blow too much of a gasket because of...,"
"Two histories have been damaged, it's time for a future to arise. He's good for her. I wouldn't approve of anyone else."
Sonic smiles. with his old friends back in the realm of the walking and his new friends the fat man wasn't going to last long.

Author's Ramblings

I hope you've enjoyed that. I ended it there because I couldn't come up with a good enough end to the big round guy. I'm prepared for anything you reviewers can throw at me. So review or e-mail me at ssj04mewtwo@yahoo.com.

1. This exclamation denotes that things have just turned bad. If things get worse he would add 'double' or even 'triple' in front of it. I'm not too sure of the spelling though. If you've watched the series then you know what I'm talking about.

2. This is an original concept. I figure that after absorbing single power rings over the time he was fighting Robotnik and the 20,000 power rings he used when he and Sally used the deep power stones he would have gotten some sort of a side effect.
