"Sorry--we're closed, but if you feel the need to, the restroom's in the back."
Demon hunter Dante looked up and scrolled the fairly young black female.
'About five-eight...carries daggers and two .22's from what I can see...'
The girl tossed her white hair behind her ear and glared at him. Blue eyes exchanged looks.
"Son of Sparda. I have a job for you." Her voice sweet, low--sensual. It was slightly southern, like she came from a real country home.
"Well," Dante smirked and tossed his hair back, "We're closed...But if this is my type of job..."
The female sighed and rolled her eyes before making a movement that Dante could barely catch. Something flew past his head and, as he looked over, he noticed that it was one of her daggers.
'Holy shit--I could barely see that!'
As Dante returned his attention to her, he noticed that she was not standing where she previously stood, but was standing before him, one high heel resting on his knee.
She reached out and leaned over him to grab her dagger.
"I need you to do this job for me."
Dante looked at her before looking at Ebony and Ivory, resting at his desk.
"What--" He was side-swiped by at sloth and went to grab his guns.
The female took this opportunity to take her pair of daggers and attack it.
Dante watched as she fought, daggers flying at lighting fast speed.
'She's good...Too good.'
The female stopped to glance at Dante. Something inside her was changing...
"A little help!?" She dispatched the sloth with grace and glared at him. "I could have died!"
"Are you kidding me?! You were kicking ass!"
She froze.
"I..I what?" Dante gave a confused look and sighed.
"Look, lady. Just tell me your name."
"Xai. My name is Xai..."
"You sound like you're not too sure..."
"I'm not..." She sat down and looked up at him. "The past three days have been hazy...And those things," She gestured to the dead carcass of the sloth, "have been following me. By the way...Thanks for the save."
"What save?" Dante was completely lost now. "You took care of that thing yourself."
Xai gave the lost look now.
"I have no clue what you're talking about...I--" She closed her eyes and grabbed the sides of her head in pain. Something inside of her was reaching out, Dante could tell....He would know that look anywhere...
"Hey...You alright...?"
"Get away from me--You bastard!! I'll make sure you NEVER do that to anyone again!" Xai stood, long white locks falling around her shoulders. Her eyes went eerily white and she glared at Dante.
"Woah--Now it's just gettin' freaky...!" Danted looked as Xai fell her knees again.
'Hmm...Could this be something...'
Abruptly, just as fast as it started, it was over and Xai gave Dante a pleading look.
"Help...Me..."
Dante ran over in time to catch the fainting female.

Dante was polishing his guns when the unfamiliar woman woke up atop his desk.
"What...?..Where am I?..." She shook her head and looked at him.
"Can you tell me your name?..."
"Yes...Now who are you?..."
Dante rose an eyebrow and sighed.
"Okay, lady. First off, you come into my office demanding that I take this job--and then start freaking out when you kill something, so now where are we???"
Dante noticed that she visibly relaxed before she spoke.
"I am sorry...It's just...I don't know who to call friend anymore..."
Dante gave a sad smile. She was really cute.
Xai threw her legs over the desk as she sat up.
"So...What's this job that you keep talkin' about?" Xai lit up a cigarette as he continued, "You know, those things will kill you."
She smiled and shrugged.
"It will be an easier death than being chased around by those...things..." She shivered while exhaling the smoke from her mouth.
"So...Where do you think these things are centered?..."
"I don't know....In my dreams, they spoke of a tower called Temen-Ne-Gru--"
"Wait, what?" Dante sat up and narrowed his eyes at her.
"I don't know what they speak of other than that...I just know of the name...I'm sorry..."
"Well, until we can get more info, I suggest that we disappear. That sloth seemed dangerous and there are plenty more coming our way." Dante stood, grabbing the freshly polished Ebony and Ivory and disappeared with Xai onto the streets of the city. Looking around, he remarked, "My shop..." He looked at her and smiled. "Twenty dollars says that it's destroyed by the time we're done."
"You're on."
