The next turn was it; it was the final stretch before the winner would be the person in front.
The white car raced forward, pushing its speed higher and higher as rain fell from the heavens. The darkened forest was the last stretch that could be seen before it disappeared into the darkness of the midnight sky. The rain fell like thunder, crashing against the cars, people and roads and sounding deep on the hallow covers.

The dark green car rolled down it’s passenger window, a man in a the same colored business coat and hat pulled out a gun and began to aim at the white car’s tires.

The white car began to swerve; still attempting to keep it’s pace on the barely-lit road.

Screeching tires against asphalt was heard as the white car burst passed the finish line; swerving so it turned around so it faced the other car heading it’s way.

The hissing of the shot tire loosing air was barely heard through the cheer of most of the crowd and the people on or for the other team.

The passenger stepped out of the car, flaming red hair flowing downwards, it’s spiked frame loosing hold as the rain came down. Green eyes twinkled as they turned to glance across the roof and to the person coming out of the driver’s seat.

The man came out, brown hair messy and wet as a result for forgetting his window rolled down, he was grinning. Crystal blue eyes glanced at the now up-roaring crowd before looking towards his companion.

Sora had won.

17-year-old Roxas always dreamed of something like that.

Always dreamed of doing something big, something exciting.

Something death-threatening.

Roxas Strife always heard from his older brother, Cloud, about drifting, and especially about his Cloud’s boyfriend’s cousin, Sora.

Sora was around the same age as Roxas, if not younger, and he was the best there was.

Maybe that’s why Roxas envied him, or at least tried to model after him.

Breakfast, a bowl of now-cold oatmeal (because KC needs to lower her cholesterol with that and cheerios), lay pushed in front of him as he dreamed of drifting.

What if he drifted against Sora ever?

Roxas sighed, glancing at his oatmeal that Cloud so (lovingly) made him. What made him even think he would have a chance of drifting? Let alone take on Sora!

Cloud, from across the table and eating his own mush (erm… oatmeal…) looked up and glared at Roxas, “If you’re not going to eat it, then stop playing with the spoon.”

Roxas looked down sheepishly, in the midst of his thinking he’d grabbed the spoon and began to clunk it against the rim of the bowl so the gooey mess on it fell back into the bowl. “Hehe, sorry…”

Cloud merely sighed, going back to the paper that had been sent to them today.

Roxas glanced at the darkish grey paper it was from the underground.

The underground had darker things to represent them and the violent or horrifying acts it did. Because Cloud was a member of the underground, he always got a paper for updates incase he couldn’t make it underground.

But that’s where Roxas came in.

When Cloud wasn’t going, he’d send Roxas, so Cloud’s underground friends considered Roxas as the underground in training.

And that’s when Roxas first caught sight of him.

Sora Kaze.

Younger cousin to Cloud’s boyfriend, Squall ‘Leon’ Leonheart, albeit he was a year younger to Roxas.

Roxas was around 11 when he first saw Sora and he instantly became attached to drifting as he watched a 10-year-old Sora race against a 30 year old and win.

At first Roxas thought he had a crush, he began to know everything there was about Sora, but now he knew better. He really sort of envied Sora, in fact, he looked up to him.

Cloud glanced back up from the paper, Roxas was doing the spoon thing again, “Why don’t you go see what Riku’s doing? I’m sure he’d love to hear a Sora tale.”

Roxas snorted, jamming the spoon into the oatmeal before he and Cloud winced at the loud sound of the spoon hitting the bottom of the dish. “Riku hates it when I talk about that. He hates Sora stories because he doesn’t believe Sora’s younger, and he hates drifting, period. Besides, he won’t even let me tell him what Sora’s last name is because he says he’ll go and kill him himself so I will stop talking about him.”

Cloud smirked, “You may never know, you could get him into it.”

“Yeah right.” Roxas sighed, glancing at the clock. Maybe he should go to the library to get his book report book… and hey, maybe go get a drifting book too! “Cloud, I’m heading to the library!!” Roxas shouted, grabbing his motorcycle keys and putting his jacket on before slamming the door shut.

Cloud, who had yet to open his mouth, simply smirked and continued to eat his oatmeal.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If there was one thing Riku Umino hated more than that red headed obsessed fan girl of his, Kairi, it was drifting.

Why Riku chose to be best friends with the biggest fan of drifting ever, he’d never know. But he was stuck with Roxas, and now he’d have to put up with his choices.

Riku paused as he passed an electronical repair shop, a bunch of TVs in the front. Children, stopped to watch, cutting Riku’s view of the bottom TVs, but there were a lot of TVs stacked upon each other, so Riku saw the news anyway.

Apparently, there was a drift race two nights ago, the night it was raining.

“It was broken up when gunshots were fired.” The reporter on the news crew stated, she fixed some papers, “The men who shot and a few bystanders were arrested but the ones being shot at were gone. So far, because this was underground drifting, the others won’t give up names, police are now questioning. And onto other news, there seems to be a higher demand for—.”

Riku snorted, since he hated drift racing, he hoped that those men would give up whom they fired at. Really, what was the point of holding in the name of someone from the police if you’re trying to bring them down?

Suddenly Riku’s glaring match with the TV ended as someone bumped shoulders with him. The person was about to keep walking but Riku twirled around and grabbed the person’s wrist. A brown paper bag clattered to the floor, dropping contents out of the bag and onto the floor.

Both Riku and the person picked up the items, “I’m so sorry, I was just going to tell you I was sorry for—…” Riku picked up the items, looking up to hand them to the owner when his words died in his throat.

Chocolate brown hair spilled over a tanned cherubic face, it looked like the boy just got caught shagging and was forced to run to the store. Plump pink lips slightly parted and topped with a light glossy lip gloss or chapstick (Riku wasn’t sure) and a lithe body filling into slightly larger jeans and a swimming red sweater that was so big on him it was hanging off his shoulders and on the sides of his forearms. Wide crystal blue eyes stared back at Riku, transfixed on Riku’s own eyes, causing Riku to freeze.

“S-sorry.” Came the brunette’s childish—yet silky—voice.

“No problem.” Riku answered, “Riku Umino, you?”

The boy brushed some of his bangs from his eyes, trying to catch his breath, “Ah.” He rubbed a few strands of his bangs between his fingers before his hand fell to the bag, “Kaze, Kaze Sora.”

Riku just grinned, “You new around here? I don’t think I’d forget you if you went to high school here.”

Sora blushed, Riku found it absolutely adorable, “N-no, erm, I’ve gone to a school somewhere else.” He quickly put everything back in the bag before bowing, “T-thanks, bye.” With that, he turned and ran down the street and around the corner.

Riku chuckled, fingers pressing to his lips, “Kaze Sora, I’m just going to have to find out more about you.” He turned back to the TV, a white car that looked badly beaten up had just been found close to the drift racing area, the car hit a light post dead on.

And one tire was apparently flat from being shot, half it’s air gone before it hit the post…

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sora turned a corner, hitting himself dead on with another person, he glanced up, coming face to face with a lilac haired man, smoldering amethyst eyes glancing down at him emotionlessly.

“Z-Zexion!” Sora gasped out, feeling the older boy’s left arm wrap around his waist.

“Who was that guy you bumped into? Did he hurt you?” Zexion’s light but threatening voice was heard barely over the black sleeveless turtleneck.

Sora gave a smile, snuggling himself into Zexion’s chest, the arm wrapping tighter around him, “No, I accidentally bumped into him, it was my fault, I was apologizing.”

Zexion gave a rare smile, attempting to lift the sweater’s neckline actually on Sora’s shoulder, but the other side of the neckline slid further down Sora’s other arm.

Sora giggled, “Axel’s clothes are big, ne? You could fit about three of me in one of his clothes!”

Zexion leaned down, pecking his little lover on the lips, “Trust me, I don’t need to see you in his clothes.”

Sora’s eyes sparkled; he released himself from Zexion’s grip and ran a little ahead, “Race you to Axel’s!” And he took off; obviously Sora’s life was fast, revolved around racing.

Zexion smirked, watching Sora run. He glanced towards the silver haired teen heading up the street. He death glared the teen and flipped him off before turning and slowly walking in the direction Sora ran in.
