The Recruitment

Chapter 1 The Recruitment
What was to say about this day? To some it was a perfect time to shop, for others it was a perfect time to have fun with friends, but for one person it was a terrible day.
Kai woke up to someone knocking on his door. Grumbling he got up put on his red robe and went to answer the door. “Who would be at my door at this time?” Kai asked himself, as he made his way to the door. Upon opening the door, he was meet with a Wu soldier.
“What can I do for you sir?” Kai asked the soldier which he recognized as one of the messengers. “I’ve been sent to deliver this message to you by order of Lord Sun Jian.” The messenger replied. “From Lord Sun Jian?” asked Kai, not really meaning to say it out loud. “Yes” The messenger said handing Kai the letter.
After taking the letter and thanking the messenger, Kai went back to his room to get ready to go out to shop.*I’ll read this when I get back* Kai thought to himself as he was getting dressed. After he was ready to go, he went to see what he needed to get. “Lets see I need more fruit, meat and rice….oh and I need to get more wood for the fire.” Kai said to himself, making a mental note of what he needed to get.
Later that afternoon after Kai had just finished buying rice; he couldn’t help but think about the letter he received earlier. *I wonder what the message says* Kai thought while buying some meat. *Well I’ll read it when I get home* he thought again while heading to buy the fruit and wood. After buying the fruit and the wood Kai headed home.
Once he got home, Kai started to put the meat, the rice and the fruit away. When he was done he sat the wood by the fireplace (I don’t know what they called them back then), “Ok lets see what the letter is about” Kai said to himself picking the letter up off the table, he read through the letter and suddenly felt a bit scared. “What!? This is a recruitment letter” Kai said, after reading the letter he went to eat a piece of fruit. *This can’t be right* Kai thought as he was eating his fruit. “Well I’ll find out when I go”
After cleaning up, Kai got ready to go to bed, he spent most of the time thinking about what he read. *I forgot when to go* Kai thought to himself and went to retrieve the letter off the table. He scanned through it and found when he was supposed to go. “Looks like I’ll be going tomorrow at noon” Kai said a bit sadly. “Great….Well I Might as well go, hopefully it was a mistake” he said as he got into bed and went to sleep.
The next day, Kai woke up earlier than usual. *Well this is it* he thought. He got his stuff ready got dressed and headed to his friends’ house. *Li Xiang might know what is going on* Kai thought as he approached his friends door. He knocked hoping his friend was there but after waiting for about 4-5 minutes he went back home. *I wonder were he is, he’s usually home* Kai thought as he opened the door to his house.
Sitting at his table at home, Kai was getting nervous. *what if it wasn’t a mistake? I don’t have any kind of fighting skill I’m gonna be holding my commanding officer behind* Kai thought as he started to get up and pace around the table.
By noon Kai was at the front gates to the castle and he saw two soldiers standing behind what Kai guessed was the general. “If I can get everyone’s attention” the general said “I am General Zhou Yu. Those of you that received a letter yesterday morning you will be appointed to a general.” Upon hearing this Kai paled and was visibly frightened.
*What am I gonna do?* Kai thought terrified in knowing that it wasn’t a mistake. “Only a few of you got a letter yesterday, we figured that you are those that never been to battle before so you are being appointed to a general that has agreed to take you for training. The rest of you will also be paired up with a general just not the ones that agreed to train the newest recruits.” Zhou Yu said before he continued. “To the left of me you’ll find several lists showing who your commanding officer is and to the right this list is for those who got a letter yesterday, just like the lists to my left you’ll find who your commanding officer is.”
After Zhou Yu excused himself and left Kai went to the list on the right to see who his commanding officer was going to be. “Well there I am, and I guess my commanding officer is Taishi Ci” Kai said with little enthusiasm turning around and headed for his house.
*Well at least it said ill be meeting him tomorrow* Kai thought while walking home. As He got to his house he noticed a box sitting next to his door. “Wonder what it is” Kai said to himself as he walked over to the box. He opened the box and found a sword and a red soldier’s uniform. “Well I guess I’ll be wearing this tomorrow” Kai said as he was examining the clothes and the sword.
Closing the box he brought it inside and sat it on the side table by the front door. By nightfall Kai was cooking the meat and the rice he bought the other day. *I wonder what General Taishi Ci looks like* Kai wondered while serving himself. While he was eating Kai started to have flashbacks of something that happened to him three years ago. “No…..I don’t want to remember that now” Kai said to himself while shaking his head.
After he was done eating he cleaned up and headed for bed. In the middle of the night Kai started to toss and turn as the same flashbacks from three years ago surfaced again. “Ugh……..NO……STOP PLEASE DON’T” Kai yelled as he tossed and turned trying to fight off whoever it was in his nightmare. “AHHHHHHHH!.........PLEASE DON’T IT HURTS” Kai said as tears started to fall from him crying, but the figure just laughed manically and continued to torture and rape Kai until…………
“AHHHHHHHHHHHHH” Kai yelled as he sat up and franticly looked around the room and saw that no one was there. “Why….why am I remembering this now?” Kai asked himself as he was getting up to get a drink of water. After drinking the water Kai took a look in the mirror, whipping away the sweat and the tears from his face got back to bed and fell back to sleep.

This is my first attempt at doing a story like this so please be nice im also writing as i play the game so it might take a bit longer for me to update.
