To Te-chan: I hope you won’t mind me borrowing the “bathing in Lumen Springs” concept. Don’t worry because my fic will be entirely different.

Notes: This is also my first time writing a yaoi fic. If you happen to have read my slash story in another fanfiction web sight, there’s no connection between that and this story. This is just a result of my naughty thoughts about Moses and Jay, my favorite pair in the world! XD Now you know the reason why I haven’t updated it yet.

This story will be a one-shot, unless you want me to write more if you happen to like it after all (which I hope you would)


Instincts


Moses whistled a happy tune as he strutted his way towards the bandit’s camp, scattering sludge around in his wake. Csaba, who was managing their food for the night, looked up from the pot he was stirring when he heard their leader arrive. ‘Looks like someone managed to have a good roll in the mud today.’ he thought as he saw the beast tamer approach him.

“Yo! Csaba! What’s cookin’?” greeted Moses with a grin.

“Beef stew. What happened to you?” Actually, Csaba can already guess what happened to the beast tamer, he just had the need to confirm it from the bandit himself.

“Played with Jay in the Forest, won a bet and got ta’ dunk him in a muddy puddle!” Moses bragged, thumping his chest in pride.

Csaba raised a questioning eyebrow at hearing this and answered his own question for himself, “And knowing the ninja, he got to pull you in with him didn’t he?”

Moses laughed, confirming his second-in-command’s guess and added with a smirk “You bet! That’s my Jay for you! All bent to give me hell and all that.”

Csaba didn’t miss the proud tone of their leader as he talked about the ninja like he is his most beloved person in the world, despite how the said ninja treats him like the opposite. Knowing the bandit, it’s probably the case and it’s also not that hard to miss the possessive way his leader addresses the name of the young information specialist.

Suddenly, a rumbling noise sounded from somewhere which interrupted the green-haired bandit’s musings.

Csaba looked up to see Moses guiltily scratching the back of his head. “I’m starving. I think I’m gonna die of hunger. Is the grub done yet?

“I’m sorry, Moses. Not yet, I’m afraid. It will still take quite a while to cook. You can wash up in Lumen Springs first if you want. I’m sure it will be ready when you get back.”

“All right. Guess I have no choice then.”

As Csaba watched his mud-covered leader walk away, he can’t help but let out an exasperated sigh. The unresolved tension between the bandit and the ninja can even be said to be thick enough to see and not just cut with a knife.

‘Honestly, when will those two stop and just do it?’ But as to what ‘it’ meant, Csaba can only guess.


IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII


In the Lumen Springs, a certain information specialist had just discarded his clothes and removed his hair bands when he suddenly felt his ears burn.

“That stupid bandit is probably talking about me again!” he muttered aloud as he rubbed the said appendages. Since it was already dark and the path to the springs more dangerous because of it, the ninja finds himself alone with the water all to himself.

In a hurry to wash out the grime in his skin that managed to seep through his thick layer of clothing, Jay immediately waded into the water… and gasped. Since the sun had just set a few minutes ago, the water was not too cold to cause hypothermia but it was cold enough to cause gooseflesh to rise up in the ninja’s skin. When his body finally adjusted to the temperature a moment later, he splashed water over his body and using the soap he got from the Oresoren Village (with his extra set of clothes after he returned from his tumble in the forest) he lathered it over the dirt and rinsed out all the mud that managed to cling to his skin.

“This is entirely that idiot’s fault! I should have known he’ll trick me into doing something as stupid as himself!” Jay complained aloud to the moon that served as his only companion at the moment. As if to comfort him in reply, the clouds parted and the light of the moon shone through, shrouding the ninja in it like a gentle embrace.

With the water settled around his hips, Jay looked like a water nymph with his pale smooth skin glistening like silver under the moonlight and his violet hair as dark as the night that surrounded him. The ninja, unaware of what a fetching sight he looked at that moment also did not hear the rustle of leaves behind him, too engrossed was he in his thoughts about cursing a certain beast tamer to hell and replaying the injustice done to him in his mind.

The sound of movement against the water made the ninja turn his head around at the noise and he was shocked to finally notice that he was not alone anymore…

Moses was always one to follow his instincts, which tells him that he’s hungry and that he should hurry to wash up and go back so that he could eat, so that’s what he did. He knew there’s something important that he should be aware of (like the state his mind was in at the moment) but he was just too hungry to even think about it.

After leaving the camp, the bandit rushed to go to the Lumen Springs to wash up, encountering very few monsters on his way into the forest which was quite unusual during that time of night. The few monsters who were brave enough to deter him however, found themselves slaughtered within a moment because the hunger that the beast tamer felt was causing his mind to run on instincts more than usual. It was probably the reason why the other monsters didn’t make their move to attack. They must have sensed another predator instead of an easy prey and this prevented them to chance coming out of their territory only to be overpowered and killed.

When Moses reached the Lumen Springs, he hurriedly removed his body ornaments and unwrap the animal pelt at his waist that served as his pants. Thinking to wash the pelt later on, he spread the large material in the grassy ground in front of him. It was only when he turned to go to the water that he notice that he wasn’t alone, and the sight that met his eyes knocked the breath right out of him.

A beautiful nymph had its back to him and yet what a sight it was. ‘What a hottie’ that’s what he thought, or should have when his mind is more stable than usual. Jay felt his body shudder in reaction at hearing his name. ‘It was probably because of the cold’, he reasoned to himself, not thinking about the way the bandit said his name like a caress that went straight to his spine and made his body tingle pleasantly in response.

Still locked inside the other’s intense gaze, something about the way the beast tamer was looking at him alerted the ninja that something was quite off with the older boy.

“Moses?” Jay asked, a frown of concern marring his youthful face.

“I’m hungry.” Moses replied, finally breaking eye contact with the younger boy to run his eyes towards the ninja’s chest, over the pink nipples hardened by the cold, downward to the flat stomach. The bandit was mesmerized by one droplet of water that settled over the ninja’s navel and he watched it slide down to finally join the others that covered what his eyes were craving to see.

Now Jay knew what was off with the bandit, because at that moment he felt like a prey trapped under the smoldering gaze of a predator. Feeling a mix of excitement and apprehension churning in his stomach, Jay managed to step back as the bandit took a step towards him.

“Come on, Jay. You look delicious enough to eat.” Moses said in a husky voice that made the ninja gasp, both in shock and at the feel of something stirring within him in reaction.

“W-what are you blubbering about now, you stupid bandit. Keep your instincts to your pants!” Jay said, and he wished he didn’t because saying it made him look only to see that the beast tamer wasn’t wearing any, and what he saw made him gulp. The bandit’s relatively large arousal was jutting out towards him, making it clear what the beast tamer had in mind.

The beast tamer then managed to move in a little closer to his prey, but the ninja was wise enough to avoid stepping into the deeper part of the pond as he gradually stepped back. The two, without having noticed it, seemed to have settled into the old dance between the hunter and its quarry, the former waiting to attack and the latter looking for a chance to escape.

Seeing the open space towards his right at the periphery of his vision, Jay found his opportunity. Without breaking eye contact with the bandit, he tried step closer towards the edge of the water where it meets the grass to his right.

“Snap out of it Moses!” Jay said, hoping that the bandit would come back to his senses so he wouldn’t have to deal with their current situation.

Still, he might as well be talking to the air for all the response it got from the beast tamer, who just move another step towards him.

‘You leave me no choice but to do this’ Jay thought as he then threw the bar of soap he was holding towards the bandit’s face, hoping to distract him even for a split second to manage his escape.

The bandit caught the object by reflex before it hit his face, but it was enough for the ninja to trudge through the water and into the grass and run for the exit. The beast tamer with his taller frame and longer legs, and with an instinct of a predator ready for the kill, managed to catch up a few seconds later but it turns out that his effort was not needed after all.

Jay chose an unfortunate time to look behind him to see if Moses was catching up to him, because that moment cost him to trip on the animal pelt laid on top of the grass at his feet. He felt his breath knocked out of his chest at the fall, making him slightly disoriented, but it was a good thing that the fur was soft and cushioned his fall or else he’s be sporting bruises.

For a moment there the ninja forgot the reason why he ended up where he was as he wheezed for breath, until the bandit pinned him down as he felt the warm weight settle on his back and something hard nudge at the back of his thighs.

‘Oh no!’ “Moses, get off me!” Jay tried to free himself by bucking up his back to dislodge the bandit off him but the bandit was just too heavy. The only response he got from the beast tamer made him gasp in shock, as he felt the bandit’s tongue lick the skin at the curve between his neck and shoulder.
