the trainee hunter

"Chaz get ready and hurry up,we're going to Motavia academy in Piata,today's your first job as a hunter you gotta put your heart in to it" alys's words surprises him. He rushed out quickly from his bedroom half naked considering he just got out of the bed to find that the young woman standing in front of his room. Well although she's young but he is much younger than she is. He's 16 and alys is 24.a young age for a hunter that is so succesfull.
"wow does that mean i'm not a trainee anymore?"chaz said looking at her in disbelief. considering his young age it was hard to believe,but of course he's been looking forward to this day,he's not gonna object. in fact he always dream of going to another country,maybe a little sightseeing wouldn't hurt..oh maybe a lot of sightseeing.that thought linger in his head and a big smile swept across his face now that his dreams wouldn't be too far out of reach, being a hunter would very well make his dream come true. he turn his attention towards alys and for a while there he could swear he saw her cheeks turn a little pinkish, 'maybe it was just the heat' he thought,considering these days the weather are always too hot and too cold at times. the change in climate were felt all over the world he even heard that the well in mile were all dried up for some unexplained reason.
"yes,you're a full fledged hunter now and you get to be my partner so..get a move on or i'll leave you behind" the woman said while making her way to the front door.
"oh wait, wait i need to get dress" chaz stumble his way to the cabinet where his clothes were,opening it to find there were a bunch of his underwear and boxer but his dress seems to go way a little deeper inside.
"ugh" he sigh. he never was a tidy type when it comes to his own closet. he just dump his clothes where anyone couldn't see it except for himself. he know alys will freaked out when he sees how his closet looks like but he doubt that the girl would even bother to check on his closet, not since he's turn 14. she knows he'll be a grown up man sooner or later and will be able to take care of himself. seeing as he always seems to help her with the house chore maybe alys figured out he'll be cleaning his own closet just fine. he throw his unnecessary clothes out in his desperate attempt to find his usual clothes he used to wear when he's out training. he grabbed his red clothes and scabbard not forgetting to equip the leather armor he worked so hard on buying. throwing the mess that he made back into the closet he proceeded to get dress. he gives his face a quick was and his teeth a quick brush.
"chaz" he heard the woman called out to him again. her voice sounded annoyed, he knows he should be out by now but the difficulty to find his own clothes hinder his own progress.
"uh..i'm coming" rushing his way to the front door while stumbling to get his boots on his feet properly. "i'm sorry" he said apologizing for his lateness. alys cross her arms on her chest giving him an annoyed expression. deep down he knew alys would never get angry with him for a long time but that doesn't make it all the more reason to make her get angry at him. in fact he wanted to avoid that as much as he can. he feel indebted to her for taking him in when he was out on the street as the one they called the street urchin. being a troubled kid he thieves his way to live, to feed his empty stomach until alys came and took him in. telling him she saw some potential in him he gave him a place to live with her and teach him swordmanship. he always looked up to her as a big sister and feel vey proud when anyone praise her for her valiant deed and her beautiful battle skill, and it also made him feel he have his own family now that alys are with him.
"i guess this is all my fault for not telling you earlier about this job of ours, but you should know being a hunter you must be ready everytime to answer to the job call, but of course being a trainee yourself you wouldn't know about something like that.." she smile at him. he knew the smile she given him were sincere. he smile back. looking at her face like that he realizes how lucky he is to be in a company to this attractive woman in fact how lucky he is to be living with her. she is beautiful with a long brown hair past her shoulder, a deep set of green eyes surely mesmerizing to look for those of whom who barely knew that the girl is a fearsome hunter. she is taller than him but he knew by the time he turn 20 he will be catching up to her, in fact taller than her. she moves with a grace of a jaguar, firm and unwincing in her step. some of the people in the town told him how lucky he was to be in the same with roof with her.
" no alys it's not your fault, i guess i was a little bit carried away back there, i mean i've always wanted to travel..in fact i was excited to have this trip with you that i uh..got carried away" chaz said his excuses were half true but he seems to be repeating himself.
" this is not a trip , you should remember that" that's alys for you, when it's a job it's a job.
" you know we're going to this city of learning and all , it wouldn't hurt to look around a bit eheh.." rubbing his neck he gives her a smile, the one he knew would look stupid to her.
" you know what, maybe i'll just leave you here" she turn her back and started to walk away.
"okay i'm kidding, that's a joke" chaz said to her attempting to get her attention.
" if that's the case hurry up or i'll really leave you behind" alys shouted at him without stopping her walking.
" it's not like she's going to stop me to look around when we get there heh.." he mumble and chuckle to himself while hurrying after her.
" what'd you just say" uh what a sharp ear she heard him.
"i uh nothing" he said. alys roll her eyes to him and started to continue her walks.
finally catching up to her he grab her wrist in an attempt to stop her to wait after him.
"wait..you know you shouldn't be leaving your newbie partner behind.." he said jokingly still holding her wrist..he laugh a bit at his own comment. and a moment later he feel a pain on his head.
"owch.." he yelped. he took a moment to register his sudden state of pain on his head to see that alys glaring at him. it seems that she has hit him a little too hard with her hands.
"ow..what'd you do that for?" he said rubbing his head. the pain on his head seems to subside now.
"for your stupid jokes" she said and hit him again.
"ow..okay i won't do it again..geez alys what's with you today?can't you take a little joke" he said rubbing his head again. looking at the woman standing in front of him. her hands folded to her chest.
"if that's a joke then it's not funny" she said to him. her face twitching indicating she was annoyed and despite of that he couldn't help but notice that she is still beautiful with her face like that. he chuckle to himself as he imagine someone saying something like "oh alys you look beautiful even when your face is twitching".
"now what's so funny?" alys said. her face look even more annoyed now.
"nothing..i just realize that you're still beautiful even when you're mad" he said a silly grin swept across his face. his hands rubbing the back of his necks. if he tell her what's he really been thinking there'll be another hit on his head and he decided to give her a little truth.
but despite of his effort he was given another hit on his head.
"stupid..if you don't get going and stop joking around i'll just ask the guild to pull you out from this job" with that said she leave him with her hands folded to her chest leaving him to hurry after her.

it'll be lying if she said she wasn't taken aback by his comment. he never said something like that to her face "i just realize that you're still beautiful even when you're mad". so he thinks her beautiful. she was happy with what he was saying that she feel it was kind of weird for her to be feeling like that. it was as if hearing someone you like say those words to you and after you feel as if you're walking in the cloud. his words keep repeating in her mind. like a chant or mantra whatever they called it. 'i'm insane' she concluded in her thoughts. 'damn, if i couldn't calm down how could i ever get this job done in the first place' this makes it all the more difficult especially with him following her around like that.
she doesn't know what's seems to be happening to her lately but it seems she was even more aware of him now. she could feel her face flush when he was near her that she was afraid her feelings would gives away. not that she has any kinds of feelings to him to begin with at least not to her knowledge now. she only thought of him as her little brother. as one of her family. but now even the feeling of him closing to her is making a butterfly on her stomach dance. 'goddamit what is it?' she try to think what's been going on to her. 'surely not that?anything but that,he's like my little brother for god sakes' and then there's a tiny voices in her heads that goes like this ' you're not related by blood so it's okay..and he's already turn 16'. where did she get that train of thought? she doesn't even know what's happening to her,how could that thought even occured.
it's not that she couldn't take the joke as he might have suggested, she wanted to faint when he hold her wrist like that. her heartbeat was beating faster than normal that the only action she could do to mask her feelings was to hit him on his head which does a little support to calm her nerves. it's not like they never touch before. they always have a body contact when they're training but that was a year ago. they never train together much these days. chaz always seems to go out on his own training and she always have a job request to fulfill. she doesn't even know when does she start having these weird feelings around him. her behaviour reminds her of a love sick school girl. 'that'll be weird if i have a crush on him and it'll be even more strange if i'm in love with him' alys's sigh. she was frustrated with her inability to control herself when around him which is kind of odd considering herself to be a very accomplished hunter and was train to fit in any situations be it good or bad,easy or hard. she was train to fit in. now she realize that her training was not enough to help her with this kind of situations. she feels sorry for chaz, having him tolerate her behaviour towards him. she was afraid of him finding out his effect on her that she decided to vent all her frustrations on him. 'this is outrageous,if this things weren't sorted out it'll be the end of me' but what is she suppose to say to him. she wouldn't want him to find out the truth, she would be so embarrased that she'll end up fleeing to the end of the earth or even worse she could just kill herself.
"alys, now i caught up with you" she could feel his hand resting on her shoulder she was practically restraining herself from hitting him again because right now she could feel her shoulder tense and her thoughts projecting a weird image of him spinning her around and pulling her close to him and kissing her lips hungrily and what's weird is he was standing 2 inch taller than her. god did she anticipate something like that to happen? 'if that is the case then god forgive me for i have sinned greatly'
"could you maybe ...remove your hand from me" she requested to him,making it sure to sound normal for his ears, but she knew she was half moaning when she said it and she was not happy with that outcome. she hated her feelings at that time, she hated not to be in control. she always wanted the situation to be under control but right now the situations keeps getting worser and worser and seems to be going out of her hand. she struggle to restrain herself from doing something that she might regret later. 'this is hardwork' it's even more worse than killing a sandworm. she was practically afraid that he might finds out her feelings just by listening to her tones at that time. she's paranoid and she knows that.
"uh i'm sorry" chaz said removing his hands from her shoulder. he didn't realize his action would make the air around him feel heavier. he just doesn't seems to understand whats seems to be the problem with alys these days. she seems to be on edge. sometimes he realize she practically jump when he's around her as if surprise or something. 'she couldn't be having a heart attack or something,is she sick? if that is the case she must see the doctor' he wouldn't want to lose someone so dear to him. he'll be very lonely without her. he look at her and and a feeling of concern crept up his chest when he saw how red her face is. noting how she looks beautiful even with her face like that.
"hey are you okay, you're not sick are you?" he said giving her a concern look. his green eyes eyed her warily.
"i'm not, where'd you get that idea?" alys said returning his gaze, her feature tells him she was confuse with his comment.
"nothing, it's just that you're face are all red..i just assume you're sick" with that said her face flush even more. that makes him convince she is sick.
"you sure you're not sick?" chaz ask again not convince with her answer earlier. 'she shouldn't be taking this job if she is,but alys is stubborn she wouldn't hear any words i say..besides this jobs is from the town far from here..it's dangerous to takes job that is away from your home if you're sick..is this even permitted within the guild?if that is the case i should keep an eye on her maybe she's running on fever..' he was concern for her well beings he doesn't want her to be sick. last time she was running high on fever he was practically all over her. he was really afraid of losing her that he'd stay besides her bed and attend to whatever her need is despite of her protest he even when to the length of undressing and bathing her with a wet towel that is before she comes to her senses. of course he never consider the consequences of bathing her or even undressing her at that time because he was really concern for her well being that those kind of thoughts never did occur to him until he undress her that is, he was struck by her beauty that he practically regretted his actions and also he begin to realize all this time he's been living with a beautiful woman under one roof and that woman happens to be his saviour and one who he could call a sister and now he's completely attracted to her 'it was probably lust' he conclude. he was at a lost with how he was gonna proceed next. it took him a while to gather his thoughts and courage to continue his unfinished work. he swore to himself that he never go through those kind of torture again when she comes to her senses. and of course he wouldn't tell her anything unless she ask. and she never did asked him. that was kind of a relief. if not how was he suppose to act normal around her. right now if any weird thought ever occured on his mind he just dismiss those thoughts with another thought of food or something else that didn't remind him of what happens years ago.
"no i'm not..it was uh probably the heat" she said giving him a smile to convince him.
"uh you sure?" that doesn't convince him at all he put his hands on her forehead to make sure if she's having a fever. he could feel her skin jump at his touch which he ignore considering alys have been acting like that lately. he was used to it also a little worried with it. 'i should ask someone to check on her if i got a chance later,she probably wouldn't like the idea of doctors checking on her..probably when she's asleep..'
"oh you're fine.." he conclude feeling a bit relief but a bit concern with her ability to be surprise at every littlest thing. 'that could cause a problem..a heart attack would not be good for a hunter to have' he pondered to himself.
"that's what i was trying to tell you earlier" he could saw an annoyed look on her face now as she turns away and leaves him to follow after her. 'typical alys' he chuckle to himself as he hurried again after her.

//this is my first fic..and i don't know if i will be updating it because i was just writing this for fun..and i know my grammars sucks and all..but i have a lot of fun writing this.. guess uh that's all for now..
