Prolouge
/-----------/
Hey, everyone. This is the prolouge to this story, and pretty much just sums up the past. Review! Also, I'm going off the Japanese LttP, which says Zelda is Link's sister. Just so you know ahead of time.
/-----------/
Link had gotten up one morning. He had just destroyed a horrible man and rescued the world from his grasp. But he had gone through a paradox doing so, making him forget his great deeds. He felt something missing. He didn't know what it was. He set out, looking for not what he knows, but what he can feel is out there. He helped the people there, but nothing left. He went to two other lands, searching. Along the way he met Princess Zelda, who was later captured by some wierd, pig-human. He thought his name was Ganon, though not sure why. He fought, and destroyed, the beast. He oddly seemed familiar, but Link didn't know why. After saving those lands, he kept exploring. When he turned seventeen, he headed back for Hyrule. He found Ganon again, and knew he was again the cause of not only the trouble of the land, but also a huge thorn in Link's quest. Link, once again, fought him. He seemed to be more powerful, but he made sure he was dead this time. Afterwards, he leaves his homeland, on a boat sent out to sea. A huge bolt hits his ship, and he goes down. He wakes up in a bed, owned by a lovely girl and her father.
And there she was. She had been the missing element in his life. He spent as much time with her as he could, but he had wanted to get of the island, too. First he went to fight what was known as the "Nightmare". After going through many trials, he finally got to it. He fought with his courage and strength, and destroyed it. Then he woke up in the sea, on a floating piece of wood. The entire island was a dream. But it seemed so real. Especially his love for Marin, the beautiful girl that saved him. He could still remember her voice, singing the "Ballad of the Windfish". He constructed a boat and slowly pushed himself in a direction he hoped was land, thinking of Marin the entire time.
After a couple of days on the water, (luckily he had some food and water with him.) he reached an island. He saw a dock nearby, and went to it. Then a wierd-looking creature came out of the water and threw him into the sky. Link landed in a small, open plain, surrounded by mountainous terrain, only mildly bruised. He had lost all of his equipment at sea, so couldn't go and fight yet. Then he recognized the area. It was Hyrule! But it was so beaten down by some unknown evil, it was nothing of what he remembered. He went into a nearby cave and learned Ganon had returned. He was angry, especially since this would be the third (although it felt like the fourth) time he had to fight him. He explored the land, gathering equipment and knowledge, then found Ganon. He fought this last battle, and won. He made sure Ganon would be dead this time by burning his grave with the cave torchlights. He rescued Zelda and brought peace once and for all to the Kingdom of Hyrule.
Now our hero, Link, sits on a rock in a field, trying to think of what to do next.
