Justice Stream!

Life as an einherjar was quite different from that as a simple mortal. There was no time for reading, taking walks, or any of the other idle activities Lawfer had once enjoyed. The job required almost constant travel, which Lawfer was not used to, and Valkyrie was a harsh mistress.

Lawfer did not mind fighting the undead or corrupt humans, but he got exhausted quickly and felt inferior to stronger warriors like Arngrim and Belenus. He also got lonely, and often missed the nights spent with Kashell, Aelia, and Celia. At least Arngrim was here.

Lately, though, there had been another person on his mind. He was a younger man, fair of skin and face, much like himself, actually. His name was Llewelyn.

Due to the fighting and traveling, and the shyness of both parties, the two rarely spoke. However, there were times when Lawfer looked across the battlefield to gaze upon the young archer’s kind face, sometimes to be rewarded with eye contact and a quick smile before the fighting continued.

Young Lawfer could not get Llewelyn out of his mind.

The other einherjar still fighting in Midgard were a middle-aged man named Janus, who was from Llewelyn’s hometown—another archer, but apparently the two hadn’t known each other—a kind-hearted mage named Lorenta, and Princess Jelanda, whom he known of but never spoken to until after his death. Another fighter for Valkyrie, apparently for life, was Arngrim, whom Jelanda said the gods had deemed unworthy to enter Valhalla.

Several einherjar had already been sent to Valhalla, including Kashell, Aelia, two Hai-lan mages called Nanami and Yumei, and a samurai named Jun.

Today, Valkyrie and her einherjar were busy clearing the monsters out of a place called the Cave of Thackus. Jelanda’s fire magic was working well against most of them, and Janus was complaining that the foes were too easy.

Lawfer didn’t have any problem with easy enemies. He felt strong when he was able to easily defeat an enemy, an illusion that Arngrim would disapprove of. But lately, fighting just wasn’t on his mind.

“Hey! Lawfer! Stop spacing out and come help us!” snapped Jelanda, who had somehow managed to attract a large horde of crab giants with her shouting.

Lawfer started and smiled at Jelanda. “I’m sorry, Princess.” He pointed his spear at one of the crabs to her left and charged forward.

“JUSTICE STREAM!"

“Oh, gods, my arm,” Arngrim groaned as they were camping that night. “That damn kraken really messed it up.”

Valkyrie glared at him. “Stop complaining. We could have been a lot worse off.”

Lawfer was exhausted. Trying to stumble his way through a dark, damp cave was bad enough, but the steep climb to the entrance on the way out had really taken a lot out of him. Even so, he wondered why Valkyrie seemed so upset. It was as if something had been bothering her ever since they’d returned from that crazy man’s tower. He couldn’t believe she let those words he spoke get to her like that. She usually seemed so strong. I guess even gods feel helpless sometimes, he thought.

Just then, Valkyrie stood up. “Freya is calling me,” she said simply. She nodded to Janus and Jelanda. “I think you two are ready. Come.” Janus stood up and walked over to Valkyrie. Jelanda, however, looked hesitant.

“Jelanda?” Valkyrie’s tone was impatient. “Come now. We mustn’t keep Freya waiting.”

Jelanda nodded, then looked over at Arngrim. “Don’t do anything stupid, like get yourself killed,” she warned.

Arngrim laughed. “Me, get killed? Come on, kiddo. You know me better than that. Besides,” he added, clapping a hand on Lawfer’s shoulder, “I’ve got Lawfer to cover my back.

Lawfer blushed furiously at this. “You are wrong,” he insisted. “You’re the one who’s always helping me, Arngrim.”

“Yeah, that’s true,” Jelanda agreed.

“All right,” Valkyrie interrupted. “We’d better hurry, or Freya’s going to have my head.”

And with that, Jelanda walked to Valkyrie’s side, and the three disappeared.

“So…” Arngrim looked over at Lawfer and grinned. “That little guy, Llewelyn…He’s been asleep all evening, hasn’t he?”

Lawfer nodded. “Yeah…” he sighed. He felt sad for some reason.

“What’s wrong?” asked Arngrim. “I ain’t the best listener, but since Valkyrie’s not around, we can talk about what’s botherin’ ya.”

Lawfer smiled a little bit. “Nothing, really. It’s just…it’s a strange feeling. Fighting here with you, and these other people, and then having them leave so suddenly…You become so attached to everyone, and never know when they’ll be leaving you.”

“I see.” Arngrim shrugged. “I guess I’m used to it, since I’ve been with Valkyrie from the very beginning. The only one who had been around that long was Jelanda, and now…”

“Do you…miss her?” Lawfer asked hesitantly.

“Nah,” Arngrim said, shrugging again. “I’ll see her again at Ragnarok.”

“Ragnarok…the end of the world. And what will happen to us then?”

“I don’t really care. Death has never really been a big deal to me. I suppose we’ll all go to Nifleheim.”

Lawfer frowned. He didn’t like the sound of that. He’d have to tell Llewelyn how he felt soon, or he would never get the chance to.

“You know…” Lawfer paused, unsure how to say this. He didn’t want to make Arngrim angry.

“Go on,” Arngrim pressed.

“I used to…” Lawfer blushed a little, then blurted out, “I used to have a crush on you.”

Arngrim laughed loudly. “Is that what’s been bothering you this whole time? Don’t worry about it. I always knew there was something different about you, but I didn’t want to embarrass you.”

“Yeah…Thanks.” Lawfer grinned at Arngrim, then stood up and walked over to a distant spot. “Well, I’m going to sleep now. Goodnight, Arngrim.”

Arngrim smiled and shook his head as Lawfer walked off. He’s not going to go to sleep, he thought. At least not right away.

Lawfer laid down and instantly began to think of Llewelyn. His beautiful, golden hair…his amythest-colored eyes…his pale, soft skin…

Nervously looking over his shoulder to make sure no one was looking, Lawfer slid his right hand beneath his pants and began to lightly stroke his cock. It had been so long, he realized…too long. He stifled a moan as he imagined himself on his knees before Llewelyn, taking his stiff penis into his mouth…coaxing him closer and closer to orgasm with his lips and tongue…

It ashamed Lawfer to think of such things, but he couldn’t help it. Before long, just as he was starting to imagine submitting to the blond archer in the most intimate way possible, he had reached his climax, coming into his right hand as his left covered his mouth.
