Disclaimer:
I do not own the Sonic The Hedgehog game series, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Sonic Fanfiction
Author's Note: I don't own shit and I don't make money. At all. Oh, yes, also, I don't write often, as I have a very bad writer's block, lack of motivation and low self-esteem. I LOVE LONG DARK WALKS ON VOLCANO BEACHES AND ENJOY SPENDING TIME WITH MY LIVEJOURNAL. This story has teh gay. I might write more people into it later, depending on reviews (if I even get any of those crazy things!). In this first chapter, the sexual content is light and is mostly just kind of showing the people out there what I'm writing and if they like it, I'll do more. It's more, like, dog leg humping in this first chapter. Lastly, if anything in this story is not correct with something canon with the Sonic universe, then just get over it, because it's just fanfiction.

Smirking into the blue version of himself's ear, he whispered only loudly enough for him to hear, "You're pathetic."
Sonic growled, "Shadow!" Then, he ducked and tried to sweep Shadow behind his feet to make him fall, but the black hedgehog jumped up and did a drop kick as he landed. Unfortunately for that, Sonic kicked at the same time, the feet connecting to make a draw. Then, the both punched, connecting fists. They growled angrily, then punched with their other fists, connecting again. After this, they attempted to kick, but having no more limbs to stand, they topped down on top of each other, on to the grass of the green plain with a few scattered trees on some hills, a blue sky with beautiful, puffy clouds above.
An orange, two-tailed fox sighed, while a red echinda shook his head, dreadlocks swaying gently and another pink hedgehog chewed her nails from being so nervous.
"They always end up like this," Tails quitly whispered to the two standing on his sides.
"Yeah," Knuckles responded slowly. "It's always a draw. They seem to be on a pretty close level."
The two sparring hedgehogs quickly got up and Shadow began to wipe the dust off of himself, but Sonic was simply laughing and then extended a hand to his good ol' pal.
"That was great, as usual, Shadow! But just you watch, I'll get you next time!" his words spoken in utmost enthusiasm.
Briefly taking his eyes off of himself after finishing getting the dirt off of himself, Shadow made eye contact, scoffed and then began walking off, back to the nearby city, its' tall skyscrapers and scattered smaller residential buildings covering the area on the horizon.
Shrugging, Sonic laid his hand back to his sides and turned to the others, "Guess he's just going home. So, how did I do, guys? Sure hope I impressed you all!"
The young fox wagged his tails, then gave a wink and thumbs up, "You did great, Sonic!"
Knuckles held up a fist, "You did pretty good, but it looks like you two have been on an equal level since day one. Train more and put on a show I'm not expecting to see the same thing every time!"
Instantly, before Sonic could make a comment, though he mostly felt a little disappointed from Knuckle's comment, Amy leaped forward and tackled the blue hedgehog on to the ground, nuzzling his chest, "Oh, you did so incredible, my wonderful Sonic!"
Quitly gasping and raising a gloved hand in the air, Sonic choked out the words to his friends, "Guys! Help!"
Tails and Knuckles held up their palms flatly as they backed away slowly, then turned around and fleed, the echidna gliding away quickly and the two-tailed boy flying high, heading back to the city, leaving the hopeless Sonic at his most troubled time of need.
'Why is it I can't beat Shadow, but Amy seems to be able to jump on me and keep me on the ground at any time? Agh,' he thought and sighed, ignoring the constant compliments and flirtations from the pink girl.
---
A rock tossed up and down, a gloved hand idly catching it repeatedly, then throwing it after awhile, picking up another rock, repeating. Shadow sighed, looking down at the ground while he thought to himself, sitting on a sidewalk with gravel from a nearby driveway leaking over and throwing the rocks at a wooden fence infront of him, back leaning againts a metal fence.
'I feel like I'm wasting my time here,' he thought, throwing another rock and picking up a new one, now doing this with his eyes closed. 'But it's not like I have anything to do now. The world's saved, I finally know the secrets of my past and life is peaceful.'
He opened his eyes and stood up, leaning againts the metal behind him, arms crossed, 'Maybe I just need a little vacation. This busy city bothers me.' Just then, a passing car drove by him, kicking up some dust that flew over Shadow, getting him dirty again and making him cough.
'Really bothers me.'
Wiping himself clean again, he made his way back to his apartment, convienently next door to Sonic and Tail's place, but they weren't home yet, thankfully. Atleast, it didn't appear to be so. He entered his room and locked the door behind him, just incase. Quickly, he grabbed a big camping backpack and threw in some basic supplies of food and water bottles, as well as a small, one-person tent. It's a crampy old thing, but it does its' job and doesn't take up much space in the pack.
He slugged it over his back and then headed towards his door, but before he could, he looked to his right, noticing a picture frame he had turned down at some earlier point in time. Flipping it back up to remember what picture it was, he saw a group photo of himself, Sonic, Knuckles and Tails. While Sonic and Knuckles had their arms over their shoulders and used their free hands to hold Tails up in the air, Shadow was standing in a corner, away from them and had his eyes closed, arms crossed. Although, he forgot who took the picture. Silver? Not that it mattered. He stared long and hard at the photo, then quietly slid it out of the picture frame and put it in an empty pouch on his backpack.
Walking back outside, he bumped into something and heard a thud below him, "Ouch!"
"Huh?" Shadow looked down below him and saw Tails, he must have knocked him down. "Oh, I'm... sorry." The way he said it makes it seem as if apologizing is something hard to do, but he reached a hand down, offering to help the kid up.
Accepting, Tails grabbed the gloved hand and stood back up, looking cheery and not angry at all, "It's no problem! I was just coming back from Green Hill. Sonic should be here... later." The small kid thought back in his mind, remembering how he left his pal under a deadly, assailant attack. Shuddering, he took his attention off of it.
Not saying anything, Shadow turned and began walking down the porch steps.
"Hey!" Tails called out, waving. "Hold on, where are ya' going, Shadow? That's a really big backpack, are you going for a long time?"
Talking from behind his back, he hissed with a bit of annoyance, "What's it to you?" Finally, he turned around.
He saw Tails fold his ears back and curl his tails around his legs, "I-... 'm sorry, just was wonderin'. You're awfully quiet all the time and, uh..."
"What?" Shadow questioned with a subtle increase of gentleness, feeling a little guilty for almost making the young fox cry.
"Well," he wagged his tails softly, sniffling a bit, "I've never gone camping before. Sonic's always wanting a fast rush of excitement, camping's too calm and slow for him."
'Agh, I already know where this is going,' he closed his eyes and hanged his head. 'I wanted to get away from all this. I wanted to go alone. I can do it, just don't look at his face, just-'
He felt something jump up and cling to his chest, Shadow's eyes popping open from instinctive reaction, seeing Tails fold his ears back and give puppy-dog eyes, "Pleeease, can I go with you?"
'Damn it.'
A sigh escaped the black one's lips and he lightly brushed Tails off of himl, who safely landed on his feet, still looking up to his friend in high hopes.
"Fine," Shadow agreed plainly. He turned around and began to walk off again, the younger male trotting close behind.
Taking their time, the two calmly made their way out of the city and past Green Hill, down into a forest clearing. Words won't spoken along the walk, although Tails was found giggling while chasing butterflies a couple times, until he notices Shadow wasn't slowing down and waiting on him, so he stopped and followed again. The little clearing the hedgehog chose was next to a small lake and the trees seperated infront of it, letting the sun sparkle down on it and the sun setting in the horizon inbetween the inner outer trees.
Shadow breathed in deeply, enjoying the air. Pure and filled with naturalism, no carbon dioxide from all the cars in the big city, or cigarette smoke. The smell of fresh water, wet grass and the clean breeze was enough to make the old young again. Enjoying this spot, he threw his backpack off againts a tree, began to unzip it and started pulling out his tent, when a thought occurred to him. It wouldn't be roomy for two people.
"Hey, Shadow!" Tails exclaimed, also a bit happy with the chosen spot. "What'cha doin' there?"
"Just putting up the tent," he replied, hooking the metal firmly down into the ground, setting it all up rather fast, it being its' size.
"It looks kinda small. Will I have to sleep outside?" Tails asked with worry, folding his ears down a little.
"Hm..." Shadow closed his eyes and thought for a moment, then shook his head. "No, that won't be necessary."
"But..." the orange kid walked to the front of the tent and unzipped the flat, looking around inside. The whole thing was a dull grey, no fancy, pretty colorations, but it was clean.
"It's fine," Shadow interrupted. "The tent's for you."
"Where'll you be, though?" Tails asked, turning his head away towards his friend now.
"Somewhere else," he answered quickly, jumping up into the tree branches above and off out of the fox's eye view.
He ran after him a few feet, his hand raised up, "Hey, wait!" Tails yelled out. His words were ignored, though, his friend was gone, for now. "Aw, maybe he'll be back soon," the kid said quietly to himself.
Turning around, he went to Shadow's backpack and dragged it inside the tent, zipping the flap up and opening the pack. Inside, on top of everything, first was a flashlight. Perfect!, he thoughts, grabbing it quickly and turning it on to look around more easily. The fox's eyes caught a white, thin rectangle. Woundering what it was, he grabbed it and turned it over. It turned out to be a picture, of him, Sonic, Knuckles and Shadow. A smile formed on his lips, for he remembered the moment clearly.
~~~
"Say cheese!" a voice ringed out behind a camera stand.
"Cheeeese!" Sonic and friends said loudly, holding Tails up high, though Shadow simply stood off to the side.
Before taking the picture, Silver looked up from the camera. "Aw, come on, Shad! Don't you know how to smile? Or, are you camera shy?" he teased.
"I am smiling," Shadow replied with annoyance.
The camera flashed, the moment saved in time. An undeveloped picture slid out of the front of the camera, Sonic running towards it quickly and yanking it out, looking at it thoroughly after putting Tails down.
"How did it turn out? No one gave me bunny ears when I wasn't looking, were they?!" the impatient blue hedgehog asked, looking at the image, turning it sideways, then upside down.
"Hey, hey, cut that out!" Knuckles yelled, grabbing the picture from Sonic. "Yanking it around like that is only going to ruin the picture. It's not even developed yet, give it a few minutes. Besides..." he continued, looking at the picture as it cleared up. "Check me out! I look great in this shot. Nice job, Silver."
Tails whimpered, standing inbetween the two, looking back and forth and then at the picture, hoping it's not being damaged when being traded inbetween the two.
"Shut up, the both of you!" Silver exclaimed, using his psychokinesis to take the photo away from Knucklehead and lower it down to Tails, who grabbed it as it floated down to him and looked at the finished picture.
"Thanks, Silver! It turned out great," Tails thanked.
"Happy birthday, buddy!" Sonic congratulated, patting Tails on the head. Though, it messed up his hair and so he playfully pushed the hand out of the way.
"Let's hurry up and get to Amy's. She'll get mad if we're late for your cake, Tails," Silver suggested to the group.
"Hopefully, she didn't forget it's Tail's birthday and instead made a cake in the shape of Sonic's face," the red-haired echidna joked, laughing at his own joke and pointing at Sonic, who shuddered at the thought of a 'Sonic cake'.
"Maybe, maybe," Sonic stuttered, shivering with pure fear. "Maybe you guys should go on alone, you know? I'm allergic to girl cake."
"Oh, no, no!" Knuckles walked behind Sonic and begain to push him forward, while Sonic dug his feet in the ground to try to stay in the spot, but the strong echidna muscles forced him forward. "You're coming with us, whether you like it or not!"
Silver started to undo the tripod and lifted the camera up, turning around to follow, but noticed Tails was just looking to his right, not following the others.
"Hey," the, well, silver hedgehog waved his arm, finally getting the attention of the orange fox. "Aren't you coming with us?"
"Uh, yeah..." Tails almost whispered, but still audiable. His head turned back to his right and he began walking off that way. "Sorry, I just want to do something. I'll be right behind you in a minute."
"Alright, see you at Amy's!" Silver then jumped up and flew with his psychokinesis, because awesome people can freaking fly.
The fox spun his tails and got some air, looking around a bit and quickly finding what he was looking for, sitting behind a large bush. Tails landed next to Shadow, who didn't even look up to face him.
"What do you want?" Shadow asked coldly, his arm crossing.
Tails took a step closer, holding his arms behind his back, "Well, just that, uh, you didn't say goodbye and, uhm..."
He finally looked up, meeting the birthday boy in the eyes, "What is it?"
The coldness from Shadow wasn't making talking to him any easier, but Tails kept trying, "Uhm... Did you... have fun?"
"Hmph," Shadow stood up, turning his back to Tails, but atleast not walking off. "If you mean fun, as in hanging around that faker and his friends, then I had more than I could handle."
Tails giggled, making the other turn his head over his shoulder, "What's so funny?"
"Oh, nothing, except that if you didn't want to be around us, you'd have never have come in the first place," Tails explained.
Shadow turned around fully this time, "And? What's your point?"
"You like us."
When Shadow gave no reply, Tails pulled the picture out from his glove, where he had put it, then held it out. "Here, you keep it."
Furrowing his eyebrows, Shadow extended a hand and grabbed it, looking over the picture, then back to Tails, who was already flying off. He looked back down to the picture, chuckling to himself, seeing that Sonic actually did have bunny ears, Silver using his psychokinesis to lift up some dirt off the ground to form the outlined shaped of rabbit ears.
~~~
Tails put the picture back, smiling, then continued to rummage through the bag, finding an apple. He pulled it out and began to it the sweet fruit, when he started to hear some walking outside, infront of the tent. He walked out of the flap and stood infront of the tent, tossing the apple aside when he finished. Shadow was on his knees, forming a fire pit with encircled rocks and wood in the middle, which he lit with a match, then turned around and threw the match box inside the tent, the box flying past Tails' head, the hedgehog not taking apparent care in seeing his friend stand there.
The fox sat next to the fire place, Shadow at his side, who was staring into the flickering flames.
"Hey, where'd you go?" Tails asked, looking over.
"I just wanted some firewood and some time to think to myself," the answer came, followed by Shadow getting up on his feet and quickly going into the tent, zipping it up.
'Aw,' the orange kid thought to himself, curling his tails around him in the cold. 'After all this time, he still feels weird about having fun.'
Tails just sat there, staring into the warm, comforting fire as Shadow kept the end of the zipper unzipped, eyeing out of it and watching the kid. Neither one said or did anything for awhile, until the hedgehog decided to unzip the flap and walk back out, causing Tails to turn around and smile, then he continued to stare at the fire.
"Couldn't sleep?" he asked.
"Er, yeah," Shadow answered in a way that implied he had something on his mind.
Tails caught on to this and looked back to his friend, "Hm? What's up, Shadow?"
The black one lowered his head a little and then sat down, hesitating to say anything, "...For a long time, I didn't have friends, or even knew what the word meant. I forgot what 'fun' meant after Maria died. You guys keep trying to remind me what it means and be my friends. I guess I just don't know how to thank you for making me not alone anymore."
Tails scooted over closer and then hugged Shadow tightly, who was surprised by this, but slowly returned the hug.
Breaking the hold, Tails smiled, "You could start by saying 'thanks'."
The hedgehog looked back into the fire, smiling into it. Tails got back up to walk into the tent and as he did so, he heard a voice behind him softly speak, "Thanks." Smiling, the fox curled up and pulled a cover over himself, closing his eyes.
After some thought to himself, he walked in where his friend was sleeping and laid down next to him, covering up as well. Or, rather, laid up againts him, this being a tight fit, it'd have been even worse if Tails was a full adult, too, which he'd end up probably not even able to fit inside with Shadow. He tossed and turned a bit, trying to find a comfortable position without waking the fox up. Eventually, he just sighed, accepting that his arm and hip will have to be up againts Tails. The hedgehog closed his eyes and almost fell asleep, when he then heard a loud groant and felt another body turn from laying next to him and snuggled up on top of his chest. Slowly, Shadow opened up his eyes and looked down to see the fox laying his chest and chest on top of him, the rest of him still on the ground. Note was taken that the creature was still asleep, probably just not a still sleeper. Though he felt a little uncomfortable, he just closed his eyes again and tried to sleep.
"Shadow..." Tails almost mumbled out, but it was still comprehendable.
"What?!" the hedgehog whispered with a bit of anger in his tone, not wanting to be loud and disturb the silence, but also feeling annoyed that he couldn't get a quiet, comfortable sleep. He was supposed to be camping alone, anyways!
"Sonic..." the kid kept speaking, apparently to himself now.
'Wait, what? Is he dreaming then?' Shadow assumed to himself, squinting his eyes to get a better view in the dark. He could see rapid eye movement behind the eyelids. 'It appears so. I wonder what the dream is?'
Now, Tails moaned softly, his hand reaching up and squeezing Shadow's stomach weakly. "Knuckles..." The body moved closer to Shadow, snuggling more tightly into him. At this point in time, the black hedgehog could feel an immensely warm and slightly wet something againts his thigh. As well in this point in time, it occurred to him what the dream probably is. Very lightly, since the fox kid was sleeping and couldn't move much, he humped againts Shadow's thigh, spreading a light wetness. In a bit of shock and also not wanting Tails to wake up to this and embarrassing the both of them right then and there, Shadow simply... laid there and watched, his eyes wide open in surprise. The orange furry creature kept rubbing himself againts his awake friend and moaning out, even drooling slightly on to Shadow. Eventually, the hedgehog felt a hot, sticky warmth on his leg and Tails stopped his sleep-taking and wiggling around, seeming to be in a peaceful sleep now.
'Oh God, he did, didn't he?' Shadow asked himself, covering his eyes with a hand, sighing and hesitating to take a sniff of the air to gather scent.
'He did. He had a wet dream, on me,' he confirmed. Laying his head back down, eyes closed now, Shadow had a final thought before he drifted off to sleep.
'You're cute, nice and you are among some of my best friends, people who gave me a new reason to live. But, can't you not pretend-fuck me in a dream when I'm just trying to get a peaceful sleep?'

Author's Note: Not planning for this to be a one-chaptered story, but if people don't display their liking to the story in some reviews and I don't feel motivated enough by them, then I probably won't write and post more. I already have quite a few ideas for future chapters, the sexual content would definately get higher and, oh, why not throw in some angst? That's always fun, isn't it?!

"Hopefully, she didn't forget it's Tail's birthday and instead made a cake in the shape of Sonic's face," the red-haired echidna joked, laughing at his own joke and pointing at Sonic, who shuddered at the thought of a 'Sonic cake'.
"Maybe, maybe," Sonic stuttered, shivering with pure fear. "Maybe you guys should go on alone, you know? I'm allergic to girl cake."
"Oh, no, no!" Knuckles walked behind Sonic and begain to push him forward, while Sonic dug his feet in the ground to try to stay in the spot, but the strong echidna muscles forced him forward. "You're coming with us, whether you like it or not!"
Silver started to undo the tripod and lifted the camera up, turning around to follow, but noticed Tails was just looking to his right, not following the others.
"Hey," the, well, silver hedgehog waved his arm, finally getting the attention of the orange fox. "Aren't you coming with us?"
"Uh, yeah..." Tails almost whispered, but still audiable. His head turned back to his right and he began walking off that way. "Sorry, I just want to do something. I'll be right behind you in a minute."
"Alright, see you at Amy's!" Silver then jumped up and flew with his psychokinesis, because awesome people can freaking fly.
The fox spun his tails and got some air, looking around a bit and quickly finding what he was looking for, sitting behind a large bush. Tails landed next to Shadow, who didn't even look up to face him.
"What do you want?" Shadow asked coldly, his arm crossing.
Tails took a step closer, holding his arms behind his back, "Well, just that, uh, you didn't say goodbye and, uhm..."
He finally looked up, meeting the birthday boy in the eyes, "What is it?"
The coldness from Shadow wasn't making talking to him any easier, but Tails kept trying, "Uhm... Did you... have fun?"
"Hmph," Shadow stood up, turning his back to Tails, but atleast not walking off. "If you mean fun, as in hanging around that faker and his friends, then I had more than I could handle."
Tails giggled, making the other turn his head over his shoulder, "What's so funny?"
"Oh, nothing, except that if you didn't want to be around us, you'd have never have come in the first place," Tails explained.
Shadow turned around fully this time, "And? What's your point?"
"You like us."
When Shadow gave no reply, Tails pulled the picture out from his glove, where he had put it, then held it out. "Here, you keep it."
Furrowing his eyebrows, Shadow extended a hand and grabbed it, looking over the picture, then back to Tails, who was already flying off. He looked back down to the picture, chuckling to himself, seeing that Sonic actually did have bunny ears, Silver using his psychokinesis to lift up some dirt off the ground to form the outlined shaped of rabbit ears.
