Notes before beginning: This is an alternate version of a Private Action where Rena is kidnapped in Herlie (only if you chose rena at the beginning). If you don't know who Zand or Yul is, you either missed it or haven't gotten to it. If you don't even know who Rena is, play Star Ocean II! From what information they gathered, Claude and Rena understood that the mansion belonged to a fierce, rich, and powerful man called Zand, but beyond that they were unable to get more information. It seemed this Zand ran the town with fear.
Remembering this, Rena decided to leave before this Zand returned and she got into trouble. Before she reached the door on the far side of the room, the door was suddenly kicked open by a man who looked somewhat similar to Alan. Behind him were a bunch of thieves.

"So..." he smirked, "you're the one thats been assisting Yul. You don't seem to understand, he owed us money and didn't pay us back by the deadline." he spoke in a mocking voice.
"Who... who are you and why am I here?!" The expellian replied with a glare.
"Me? It seems that you are a stranger in this town. My name is Zand," he bowed.
Suddenly Zand stood up and quickly crossed the room to Rena's location. She quickly stepped back. As Zand studied her face closely, one of the thieves walked up to Zand and said, "Boss, she's the one who's been taking down our brothers in the wilderness, along with some other guy people have been calling 'The Hero of Light'."
The boss turned on his heel and laughed in the peon's face. "So she's the one thats been making a mockery of our gang. Hero or not, there will be no knight in shining armor to come save her now!" Then suddenly he sucker punched the unsuspecting fool through a wall, killing him. Rena gasped and attempted to step out of arm's length from him, but Zand caught her by the wrist and roughly pulled her up.
"You see, girl, I AM the law in these lands. Your crimes against my gang are punishable by death. Today though, I am feeling very kind. Instead i sentence you to be our 'pet'." He then laughed evily and his gang joined in as they filled the room.
Rena, instead of crying, began to cast her Gravity Press spell on some unsuspecting heads, but Zand then Grabbed her by the throat and lifted her up. As she struggled to breathe and loosen his grip on her neck, he waved his finger in front of her. "Tsk Tsk, this is not how our pet should be behaving. And our pet certainly shouldn't be using Heraldry against us!" He then let go of her neck and snapped his fingers as she fell to the floor, gasping for air. As she clutched at her throat, she noticed a collar around her neck that she couldn't remove.
Upon the command of his fingers, chains and shackles fell from the chandelier. The Thieves grabbed her roughly and shackled her to the chains, her feet dangling inched from the ground.
