My friend owns Xellis.

I am rewriting this fanfic since as I was writing it I was going to have it as an Archie and the game crossover thing and in the middle or end I just dropped that idea. I am going over each chapter and rewriting or fixing it, I am also adding more chapters since I have claimed in my summary that GUN is after Shadow and Delta and yet, haven’t. Most of my chapters are going to be rewritten and a few are just probably going to have some things added in it. I would like to thank my readers for this understanding and apologize for any confusion I have bestowed on you.

Summary: It's has been nearly 6 months since Sonic and Shadow defeat the Biolizard and since Shadow ‘died’. He's alive but has amnesia and has been captured by GUN, but then he escapes. Delta has been having nightmares from his past by a demon. He decides to go on a journey to keep the demon from hurting anyone or try to make him hurt his friends or kill them. He finds Shadow and takes care of his wounds and tries to help him remember. But the Military are after them… as well as the demon. Can Delta protect Shadow from them… and himself? WARNING! Contains angst, romance, yaoi, rape and lots of lemons/smut later, those who are homophobic or really HATES guy/guy, don't read.
Pairing: Delta x Shadow, Slain + Delta, Scythe x Opera, Tails + Cream, Sonic x Honoo?

Other than that, have fun and enjoy! ^-^

Chapter Ichi: Haunting Nightmare

Sonic hates to admit it, he really missed Shadow. It had been almost 6 months when he met his ‘faker’ and rival. He would never have thought that the ultimate life form would end up helping him take down the Biolizard and preventing the Space Colony Ark from crashing into the planet.
The blue hedgehog cast his eyes down in pained sorrow, everything he did, he couldn’t save his rival from falling into the atmosphere. In the end… a life was sacrifice to save the people.

“Why…? Why is Fate cruel? Why did it let Shadow die?” Sonic questioned as he clenched his fist.

“Because Fate, Time and Destiny have created a design for all of us. Your friend’s death has served his purpose.” Someone answered.

Sonic spun to see an older female echidna looking at him, her mismatched green eyes trying to read him. In the 2 month when the hero was moping over Shadow’s death, even though he hid behind his mask of happy idiotic smiles, he had met some strange characters that claimed to be Guardians of the Chaos Emeralds and especially finding that they gain powers from the emeralds and there were four other ones.

“But why did they decide he should die? Ok, so he tried to destroy everything for Maria but that still isn’t good enough for them to just let him die.” The blue hero argued.
Tama-shii blinked at him and sighed “I’m not psychic Sonikku, I cannot answer that. But I can tell you that many has question their motives… not a day has gone by where I have asked and demanded to know why they had allowed my whole clan to die by the hands of those who feared us… why they allow my family to die and let me live. My questions had been answered when I took the 11 orphans in so I can train them to become guardians of the 11 chaos emeralds.”

Sonic just stood there scratching his head, slowly absorbing everything she just said. “Ah, ok whatever Tama-shii, thanks for your… wisdom.” He said.

She gave him a small nod “Any time Sonikku.” Just as he walked past her “two more things Sonikku.”

He turned to look at her “Yes?”

“I’ve been told that a ghost from your past will show up soon.” She told him.

Sonic scratched his head again, confused by that “Ooooooook… and the second thing?”
Tama-shii turned to look at him “Have you seen Delta? It’s getting late and it’s almost dinner time.”

Delta lay sprawled out on the grass, his eyes closed. His chest slowly rising and falling, as if asleep. The white hedgehog had been training since the morning, even when his hands begun to hurt, he continued practicing his sword techniques.
He would still be at it if his muscles hadn’t scream with fatigue and pain and thus had fallen to the cool grass to rest.

A shadow fell upon the resting hedgehog. A hand glided towards his chest and very delicately and with skill, slipped into his coat pocket and withdrew a pack of cigarettes.

Delta’s hand reached up, grabbing the one holding his cigarettes, his golden eyes opened and stared into red ones.

His childhood friend, Honoo just grinned stupidly at him and said “Good morning sleeping beauty!” leaning down he placed a playful kiss on Delta’s nose.

Narrowing his eyes at the idiotic flirt, Delta growled and tore his cigarettes out of the pyro’s hands. “Isn’t there something you should be doing?” Delta asked. Honoo shrugged “Finished my chores long ago, I came to bother you.”

Delta glared at his friend, flicked the pack and drew a cigarette out. Honoo rolled his eyes “Geez, are you always a grouch when you wake up?”

Delta just grunted and searched his pockets for his lighter.

“Allow me.” said Honoo as he placed the tip of his finger to the end of the cigarette, smoke drifted from the end and Delta inhaled the tobacco flavor smoke, blew it out his nose and muttered “I wasn’t even asleep.”
The red hedgehog shrugged again “Could have fooled me.”

They sat in silence with the occasional screeching of a bird and howl of the wind and Delta’s puffing out smoke.

“So,” Honoo began “anything you want to talk about?”

Delta tensed, removing the cigarette from his lips, he flicked the ashes off “… what are you talking about?” he asked.
“Ooooh didn’t know the big badass Samurai can play innocent. You know what I’m talking about.” Honoo told him.

“No I don’t.” Delta countered as he pressed the cigarette butt against the sole of his boot.

“Don’t start with that bs Delta. We’ve been friends since we were toddlers… ok since I was a toddler. Something’s up with you during the night… you moan in your sleep, thrash around in your bed, you wake up in cold sweats with your pillow soaked, and now you rarely get any sleep, whenever you do, it the same thing, and you go out without telling ANYONE where you're going and when we find you, you are `practicing' your battou jitsu techniques. And when someone asks you about it, you get to damn stubborn and blow us off.”

Delta was silent as he listened to his childhood friend tell him off, casting his eyes away, he knew he couldn’t tell him what happened to him, he couldn’t tell his friend what haunts his dreams but above all… he didn’t want Honoo to get hurt.

Shaking his head Delta said, “It’s nothing Honoo… just nightmares.”

Honoo rolled his red eyes “Pfffft, yeah right,” his eyes gleamed with his usual playful banter “come on Delta-chan, you can tell me. Come on, I’m your best friend and all.”
As Honoo tugged on Delta’s sleeve, a small growl rumbled in the white hedgehog’s throat “Soon to be one dead best friend if you don’t leave me alone.” He growled, golden eyes ablaze in annoyance.

“Ooooh, someone’s tense. And I know just how to deal with it.” Honoo said with a grin while wriggling his fingers. Delta turned away from him “Yamete Honoo.” He said.

“Oh come on, a quick massage will loosen you up.” Honoo replied.

He reaches out and his fingers gripped Delta’s shoulders. Delta’s eyes widen and about every muscle in his body went rigid.

* * * * * * * * * FLASH BACK * * * * * * * * *

He never felt so helpless, he quivered as he felt clawed fingers run up his back and grip his shoulders. Delta let loose a soft whimper as warm breath washed over his right ear, as the demon whispered many things to him and as that mouth moved down and brushed against his neck.
Tears of pain and pleasure rolled down his muzzle as he felt his tormentor play with his body like he was some toy.

Golden eyes widen as Delta felt pain rip up his spine. His back arched and his mouth opened in a silent scream. He cried out helplessly as more pain rippled up his spine.
How desperately he wanted to be free, he tries shaking the demon off while trying to ignore the pain.

He gasped as he felt those claws dig into his shoulders and pin him into the mattress.

He shuddered as he felt the warm breath near his ear and listens as the voice hissed “Many times you try to defy me and many times I have made it clear to you.” The demon’s grip on his shoulders tightens and Delta screamed “You are mine my golden eye beauty… my little koi.” Delta felt him kiss his ear “Mine to do as I please.” Delta moaned as pleasure washed over him.
“Mine forever… I will never let you go… never. And I promise you… no one is going to save you.”

Delta just cried in silence.

* * * * * * * * * END FLASH BACK * * * * * * * * *

Delta spun and knocked his friend’s hands away. He looked down at his hand and looked up at Honoo. Honoo dropped his hands at his sides and gave the white hedgehog a wounded look. Sighing miserably Delta muttered “Gomen nasai…” he couldn’t even look Honoo in the eyes.

Honoo shook his head and gave him a sad smile “Nah, it’s my fault… I egged on even when you told me to stop.” He chuckled softly and ran his hand through his bangs “In the end, I will always be a stupid perverted flirt who doesn’t know when to stop while a head.”

The red hedgehog looked at him and continued “However… I do want to help you Delta… I hate to see you hurt and become distance from your friends… especially me.”

“…”

Letting loose a sigh Honoo replied “It’s getting late… and it’s almost dinner time.” He spun on his heels and headed off.

Delta clenched his fist and hated himself for being an ass to his childhood friend.

“Matte Honoo.”

Honoo stopped and stared at him. Delta hesitated and slowly shook his head “Iie, sore nani mo… nai…”

Honoo nodded but his eyes still held pain in them, he turned to continue on a head “I don’t want to loose you Delta…” he mumbled.

Delta picked up his katana, his ears flatten and he sighed bitterly “In the end… I’m a coward… and always will be…”

Once Delta was finished with the meal Opera made, he quietly excused himself, washed his dishes and headed upstairs "Ah, Delta... where are you going?" Opera asked.

Delta paused on the third step and in a monotonous voice answered "I'm tired Opera, I'm heading off to bed... oyasumi minna san."

The white rabbit opened her mouth to reply, only to be interrupted by Aero and Tama-shii "Oyasumi Delta san."

Opera close her mouth as others bid Delta good night.

Once Delta was upstairs, Amy humped and said "How rude." and thus, a few eyes turned to her and an argument began.

Delta slowly closed the door shut, he knew it was a pitiful excuse he gave his friends, but he just couldn't bear sitting there with everyone. Normally, he would stand near his window and smoke until he was sure everyone was leaving or heading for bed themselves.

But he was worn out from his training and the muscles in his arms screamed from it. Delta pulled the gold chaos emerald out his pocket, he closed his eyes and concentrated on subsiding the pain in every muscle.

Placing the emerald on the desk, he kicked his boots off, placing them next to the door. He unconsciously locked his door before placing his coat on his chair.
Untying the straps from his belt, he pulled his katana out, held it in both hands before him. He turned to a hanging wall scroll with a samurai on it. He bowed to it in respect. No sensei around to bow to, he placed his sword onto its holder.

Placing his pack of cigarettes and lighter on his desk, Delta removed his gloves, socks and jeans and tossed them into his laundry basket.

Clad in his boxers and tank top, Delta flicked the lights switch off and made his way to his bed. Pulling the blankets back, he climbed into his bed and pulled the sheets to his chest.

He stared up at the ceiling, listening to the chatting downstairs, especially to Honoo’s playful banter and a crashing sound. He figures that someone smacked him and sent him crashing into something.

Delta stifled a tired yawn and turn on his side, closing his eyes and drifted to sleep.

As the hours went by and everyone bid each other good night, a few leaving and the rest turns in. An eerie wind flutters the open drapes, caressed the sheets and the white fur of the sleeping hedgehog.

Frowning in his sleep, Delta pulled the sheets around his shoulder. One of his ears twitched to a voice uttering his name.

He wondered how his dream turned into a nightmare. The lovely clear sky had turn violently red as if someone splashed blood on it. The sweet soft grass had wilt and the ground soaked in blood and gore.
Golden eyes scan the ground before him, stopping a mutilated hand. Slowly, looking a further ahead, seeing his friends’ broken and mutilated bodies.

Delta stared into their faces, some held horror and fear, and others had pain twisted on their face.

He heard a grunt, looking up, he watched as Honoo was slashed. Blood spurt from the deep cut in his chest. Eyes widening in horror, he watched as his friend stumble and was stabbed.

Delta felt helpless watching as the life died in Honoo’s eyes, his arms falling limply to his side and his chin resting on his chest.

Delta shook his head and held it “Is this a dream or a vision? What the hell is going on here?” he wondered.

He looked up as he heard a soft evil chuckle. Watched as the owner of the sword press the sole of his boot against Honoo’s dead body and pushed him off the blade. Delta’s eyes darted to Honoo’s body as it flopped to the ground like a rag doll.

Watched as the swordsman turns his head to look at him.

Delta’s eyes widen in horror and stepped back “M-masaka…” he stared into his blood dripping face, his eyes a glow with unholy light. A smile curled his dream version’s lips, brought the katana to them and slowly licked the streaming blood.

“Dream. Vision. Hell.” The dream Delta cooed as he discards the katana. “Dream, maybe. Vision, possibly. Hell… will be.” He strode over to him.

Delta closed his eyes, the way his dream version talked seemed familiar. He felt arms around his waist, pulling him close. His eyes snapped open and instead of staring into golden eyes, he was staring into bright blue eyes.

“Hello again… my koibito.” He said with a toothy smile.

Delta glared at him and tore out of his arms “I should have known it was you… Slain.”

Slain smirked and placed a hand on his hip. “Good to know you remember me, my koi.”

Delta narrowed his eyes and snarled at the dark grey with black tipped furred hedgehog “I am not your damn koi.” He growled. The white hedgehog flinched as the demonic hedgehog let loose an eerie giggle “ In denial… are we?” smirked Slain.

“Shut up!” Delta couldn’t help blush. Slain mock a pout “That’s no way to talk to your lover.” He stated.

“What do you want?” Delta demanded through clench teeth.

A sly smile crossed his face “Want? Why, you should know what I want.” Answered Slain.
Delta knew. “Never!” he snapped “I’ll never go back to you.” He turned his back on him. He greatly regretted it.

“No?”

“Hai.”

Slain chuckled “Ah, my lovely koi. You may say that… but I think your body might says other wise.” Slain slid his hands onto Delta’s shoulders.

Delta felt his skin tingle, not with disgust but with remembrance. “Remember how I touched you like this?” he whispered, rubbing Delta’s shoulder with his gloved hands. Delta’s eyes fluttered shut. “Remember how I would kiss you like this?” he kissed Delta’s neck.

Delta let loose a soft moan. Slain smirked, one hand trailed down Delta’s side, slipping two fingers into the hem of his boxer, the other going into his tank top. He ran a pink tongue a long Delta’s neck and sucked roughly.

A pink flush shown on his muzzle as his senses gave in. Feeling Slain’s gloved hands rumple his chest fur and the other slowly slip into his boxer.

Something nagged at his brain, his eyes opened to slits as an image of Honoo with sad eyes looked at him and his haunting voice drifted through his mind “I hate to see you hurt and become distance from your friends… especially me.”

Eyes wide, Delta pulled away from Slain, startling him. Ears flattening, he clutched at his arms and shiver. “Get the hell out of my dream.”

Slain frown, he was so close to getting him back “How disappointing.” He shrugged “No matter. You will be mine once more.”

Delta stiffens and was afraid to ask “How?”

“I’m going to give you two options: First, come to me willing.. if not, watch as I kill everyone you hold dear, one a day… starting with the youngest ones, working my way to the most dangerous.”

Delta spun, shock “Y-you wouldn’t…”

The demon hedgehog smirked, waltzed up to him and wrapped his arms around Delta’s waist, pulling him closer. “I never lie… and prove I don’t let me seal it…” the slightly taller hedgehog lean towards him “with a kiss.”

Delta eyes widen as Slain claimed his lips roughly and painfully. He cried out when he felt Slain bite into his lower lips.

Delta gasped as he sat up in his bed, fist clutching tightly to his sheets, fur glistening in sweat. Breathing heavily, he looked at his window and saw the sky growing lighter “It was just a dream… was is?” he licked his lips and taste metal.
He brought his hand to his lips and came away with a bit of blood.

“Kuso!” he hissed. “He found a way to enter my dream… and he swore he’d kill everyone I hold dear…” running a hand through his bangs “I know what to do… to ensure he won’t harm them…”

Moving along a Mountain path, Delta stopped and looked down at the home of Tama-shii sensei and those who stayed in there. He shouldered his backpack, he didn’t take any food, knowing he’ll find things on his journey, instead, he only took what he thinks he’ll need.

He left a note explaining that he went off traveling to get some answers and won’t return for a few months maybe. A lie, but he knew if he left without leaving a note or anything, his friends would start to worry and do something foolish. He sighed “This isn’t the boldest move… Slain could pop up anytime and drag me back to his realm… but as long I’m not there…”

Delta squinted as the sun began to rise, he turned his back on it and continued on.

Far away, a young tiger cub clicked away at her loom. She paused, sighed and wiped at her eyes. A female lemur looked at what the girl weaved, nodded and turned to a grey with black tips furred female hedgehog clad in a kimono, her black and white feathered wings folded at her back. She sat in a seiza, her blind violet eyes staring ahead.

“It’s all going to plan Fate.” Said the tiger cub.

Fate nodded “Very good Destiny… very good.”
