Fishing for Mermaids
Summary: When a Mermaid is attaked in Lake Hylia, the Fisherman comes to her aid. (Interspices, Oral) I wrote this to start off my challenge, please read it! Somewhat connected to my other two Zelda stories.
Note: I don't own any of the characters (not even the Mermaid) and I don't make any money off this as well. This is in responce from my own challenge I have issued out to all writers of the aff.net universe! Please check it out! Let us pretend that the Golden Scale lets you stay underwater for as long as you want. I also learn that I have been spelling "Deku" wrong, why didn't someone point this out to me? I also had to edit this by hand, so let me know of any misspellings and such. Thank you!

Fishing for Mermaids
It was a nice sunny day and Link sat on the bridge that connected Hyrule to the Gerudo Fortress. He was completely bored, so he sat and waited for Zelda to get done talking peace with Nabooru to the Gerudo. He wanted to be out riding Epona, not stuck out here.
So, Link kept watching the waterfall on the edge of the bridge and eating some Deku Nuts, which he liked so much. It has been two years since his dauter, Saria, was born and not much has happen since then.
'What's taking Zeld lon long? (Author's note: To find out why Zelda is taking a long time with the Gerudo, read the upcoming story "The 100-year-old Question" coming soon! I think I'm going to tie most of my Zelda stories together.) Boy,' Link thought 'Am I looking for some action around- here...' Link jaw droped open as he saw what appeared to be a large fish falling down the huge waterfall. What made Link look twice, was the fact that this fish looked to have had red hair!
After it had pass under him, Link looked at the Deku Nuts that were in a bag. He turn the bag over and swore never to eat them agian as they fell into the river...

The Fisherman was enjoying this day. The sun was out and the fish were bitting! So far, he was able to catch five 15-lbs and two 10-lbs! Jon, The Fisherman, feels that things are looking up today and hopes for some more good luck.
'Hyrule Market here I come!' thought Jon as he started to reel in his 8th catch of the day. 'Boy, this feels like another 15-lbs fish! Woo-Hoo!'
Just then, a red-headed woman poped her head up from the water. She was facing away from the fisherman and looked around for something, but never looking in Jon's direction.
"What the..." said our hero of the day. Just as quickly as she appeared, the woman dissappeared underwater but not without flipping her tail in the air. "Ahh, she's a mermaid- A MERMAID!"
Jon was shocked. He was beyond shocked. He had been fishing everywhere in Hyrule and not once has he seen a Mermaid before!
Jon almost forgot about his current catch untill it yanks on him. 'Ok, back to work. You've seen your Mermaid.'
But he catches another sight out of the corner of his eye. This time, two Zoras pop-up and then scan the lake below them. They both have spears and are looking meaner than normal. One points somewhere below the surface of the water and the other nods, soon they are back under the water.
'Oh no! They are after that poor girl! Fish or no fish, I've got to save her!' Jon cuts the line. 'There will be other fish and another day to catch them. Plus, I have more than enough as it is for now. If I'm to save her, I need to act quickly.' Jon quickly takes off his hat and boots. Then he makes sure that the Golden Scale is tied tightly to his wrist and quickly jumps into the water.
At first, Jon dosen't see anything, but then he spots them by the Water Temple. The two Zoras have the mermaid cornered up agisnt the locked door of the temple and they are about to stike. With no way to breath underwater and wanting to take care of this fast, the Fisherman springs into action with his fishing pole.
He took the first Zora by surprize and knocks him out with the butt of the fishing pole. The secound Zora sees his brother go down and attacks the fisherman. Jon quickly uses his pole as a weapon to combat the Zora's spear.
The Zora brings his spear to bear on the unlikly hero, but Jon knows how to use the fishing rod and perry's the blow away. Jon uses one of the pole's holes (you know, the hole thing in which you feed the fishing line with) to hook the spear and drag it out of the Zora's hands. Swing the pole through the water, Jon starts hitting the Zora. Not want to take a beatting, the Zora retreats. The battle goes on longer than Jon could have wanted, but the Zora is at last defeated and takes off. He takes his buddy with him on a shoulder.
Jon is thankfull that he won, but he was running out of air. Turning blue, he looked up and started to swim to the surface. Jon knew he was too far away and was going to die. But before he gave up, the Mermaid came up behind him and turns him so that he is looking at her. It was at this time he noted that she was topless. 'Three Goddesses! Was she this way all the time, or was this the Zora's doing?' was all that he thought before she kissed him.
Air flowed into Jon's mouth and he realize what she was doing, she was helping him breath underwater.
When they reached the surface, Jon saw one of the small islands that lay in the middle of Lake Hylia. He swam toward it. The Mermaid was helping him get ashore and in fact, helps him onto the beach. Jon looked at her with disbelief at the standing Mermaid, instead of a tail, she now had legs! On top of that, she was completely nude!
