They caught him in the tunnels. He’d made it that goddamned far and then they caught him.

It was by accident really that the RED Engineer happened to be testing equipment in the sewers when Scout escaped.

It had to have been around 3AM and god knows why RED Engineer felt that that time was best to test his new guns, but Scout had never been one to complain about bad luck.

Scout had always seemed to have bad luck.

Two shots from the gun, a very surprised Engineer, and Scout was down for the count with a very angry couple of REDs on his heels.

He felt the medigun on him and felt the RED Soldier bound his hands behind his back. They were shouting at each other.

Scout felt the grief of defeat in his gut while they fought. He was getting an inside look of a conversation about how best to control him. punish him. hurt him.

RED Soldier was asking RED Medic for something. Scout only stared at the sewage leaking slowly past his thighs. He didn’t care. There was nothing they could do that Scout was scared of at this point.

Medic gave in finally, and, glaring at Scout, gave Soldier something.

Medic left and RED Engineer turned away to hit his equipment with his wrench some more.

So it was just Soldier and Scout.

Soldier smiled.

Never a good sign.

Scout looked into his beady eyes, filled with disgust, just before Soldier slammed a fist into the side of his head.

Then everything went dark.
